Gerard, Anastasia, Daniel

The tavern owner returns with food and water for Daniel and Anastasia. He appears to have gotten hold of his wits again and gives Daniel a bit of a glare as he sets the plate of grubs in front of him and then skirries back to the kitchen. Daniel has been on Wormwood long enough that the grub stir fry doesn't bother him so much anymore. This particular platter seems to be fairly well made and the water is clear and clean.

Three men dressed in church soldier uniforms, and one of the men that made a hasty exit earlier, enter through the doorway. Their red uniforms are soot stained and dirty from the days fighting. The soldier in the lead looks around the room, first at Gerard and Jordan and then over towards Daniel and Anastasia. Catching the soldiers attention, the man from earlier says something to him. The soldier's gaze returns to Daniel, sizing him up, before one of them walks over to the kitchen entrance and calls out "Shad, a moment please."

Moments later the tavern owner can be seen peeking his head around the edge of the doorway as he speaks in hushed tones to the soldier. Though Daniel's hearing is good, not even he can hear anything that's being said. After completing their brief conversation, and additional looks in Daniel's direction, the soldier walks over to where Daniel and Anastasia are seated.

After a nod and a "Miss" in Anastasia's direction the man turns to Daniel. "Shad has told me that things are calm now and, luckily for you, tried to convince me that the recent altercation between you and the being out in the street is settled. As for me, I'm not so convinced, but I'm willing to take his word on it and not arrest you." The man leans a little closer and says in an even, serious tone, "I'm only going to warn you this once, though, if we hear about any other problems, the towns hospitality will be withdrawn." Though not exactly threatening or menacing, the tone of his voice implies more than the words themselves that things would not go well for anyone who causes problems.

Anastasia finishes her meal and thanks the tavern owner. She obviously hears what is being said to Daniel, watching how he reacts to the soldier and the conversation, one way at that, asks Daniel after the conversation, "Well, looks like their going to be on your case for a while, Daniel..what are you going to do now???"

Daniel smiles at the soldier and pulls him closer to whisper very quietly , " If I came here to have any intentions of harming your towns people , then you are sadly mistaken . and nother thing .. talk to in that tone again without something for respect . you might need some medical attention yourself . Now as for my food .. Leave me to it and I will help with any wounded that still need to be looked at .. And you might want to get some defences up around this town .. what ever attacked here will proble be back with help . "

Daniel kindly eases the solder back up and starts to eat whilekeeping an ear open for anything else .

The soldier slaps Daniel's hand aside and stands up straight. Daniel can hear the other soldiers by the door moving their weapons slightly. "Sir, you're the stranger in this town...I suggest that you act with a little more respect and not make threats to the church's soldiers; and I would be working on the town's defense if I weren't here having to deal with you."

Daniel swallows his food and turns his head , " You know I could proble help you with defence of the town and like I told you , I can help with the wounded . Just remember respect must be earned to be given .. Besides looks like you need more help in the personel department as to the defense . "

Daniel looks to Anastasia and smiles , " I think you get the drift of the conversation here .. How bout you finish up with your food and tend to the wounded . I bet a pretty girl like you would seem like an angel to them . "

The soldier seems somewhat mollified by the more congenial response. "If you truly wish to help with defending the town, track down Brother Tobius or Captain Markel in the morning. They'll most likely be up at the cathedral somewhere. The wounded are being well cared for, but you could contact Brother Galen. He's probably still up in the infirmary at the cathedral." The soldier bids Anastasia and Daniel a cold, but formal, good evening, and turns to gather the two other soldiers and the man and head for the door.

Anastasia looks at Daniel and smiles. She knows shes good at that kinda thing and it makes her happy and who knows maybe someone will have some answers to what all has happened, at least try and find out.
"Well, I think I might just go do that, since I'm done now and well I like that sort of thing anyways and maybe something good will come out of this. What are you going to do Daniel?"
She gets up off the seat and gets ready to go on her way.

"Well this could get interesting." Gerard says as the soldiers walk in. "Once I see what they intend, I guess I will head out to begin trying to talk to some people. Hopefully we can find some clues about the attack on the town and the demons who did it."

Gerard sees the three soldiers come in. He can clearly hear what the man says to Daniel, but not what he and the Shad discussed. Things get momentarily tense as Daniel's aggressive behavior continues to antagonize those around him. The soldier in charge doesn't appear to rise to the bating and tensions once again ease.

[OOC: To all: be sure to give me specifics on where you plan to go or who you plan to interview. Wandering the streets aimlessly may not be as effective as having a purpose in mind. Also, the time is now approaching mid-evening.]

Daniel finishes his food and looks up at Anastasia, "Hold on I'm coming with you. I figure I will see the head of the church to see what I can find out about whats going on here. Care to join me?"

Daniel standa up and begings to walkin towards the door.
