As Brad and Lysanthra begin foraging, it's hard to miss the sheer amount of sagebrush in the area. Two different kinds: Mountain Sagebrush and plains sagebrush. Both are good for their aroma and spiritual uses, but not too useful for cooking, like salvia sage.
Brad promptly notices echinacea, which he's seen Frank haul back to Fort Hammer to make root beer. He also knows that it's used as a substitute for Novocain in tough situations and makes a great immunity booster. He also spots a grove of wild potatoes, just like Frank asked.
Meanwhile, Liz also spots the echinacea and begins harvesting it, along with locating some Indian potatoes and she also spots some wild strawberries behind a boulder. Last but not least, but she thinks she spotted, and can slightly smell, an area that could have chives and mint.

Lysanthra begins harvesting potatoes and strawberries with the echinacea. Then she starts looking at what looks like chives and mint. She is glad they were easy to spot and didn't require wandering far. She collects a good amount of each. Liz searches her surroundings for anything else that might be useful. She is humming along happily as she works. She is enjoying the freedom very much.

Brad helps collect the plants and herbs, also trying to keep an eye out for dangers (not necessarily predators, could also be an animal that just feels threatened by the two of us/territorial)
In the case of a minor threat/animal, Brad will try to keep it away from Lysanthra but without hurting it if possible since most critters wouldn't be able to get through his armour. Of course, if it's something that might be good eatin's, then it's volunteering for the cookpot.)

Lysanthra begins harvesting potatoes and strawberries with the echinacea. The strawberries are easy as they just simply need to be picked if they're ready to harvest. Most are frozen and untouched, which is odd because rabbits usually waste no time eating these. The echinacea takes time to dig up the roots. It would be better if she had a long metal pole or a sturdy pointed stick that won't break easily. She may have to come back to it as she starts looking at what looks like chives and mint. She is glad they were easy to spot and didn't require wandering far. She collects a good amount of each. Liz searches her surroundings for anything else that might be useful. She is humming along happily as she works. She is enjoying the freedom very much.
Unfortunately, either Liz is getting hungry, or she could be coming down with something as she can feel her stomach buzzing.
OOC: Liz haul
pouch of fresh mint
8 oz bundle of fresh green onion
8 oz of fresh wild strawberries
1 large echinacea root (about 4 oz)
She needs a long tool to rip the echinacea from the ground or spend a ridiculous amount of time digging
Meanwhile, Brad helps collect the plants and herbs, also trying to keep an eye out for dangers, even though their armor should protect them from most dangers.
OOC2:
Brad and Lysanthra notice no actual wildlife around, which is unusual. Not even small birds. Just plants and herbs and a hawk flying overhead, spying on them.
Brad agrees that a specialized tool is required to harvest echinacea.
Brad's Haul
12# of wild potatoes
4 oz of Indian potatoes
OOC3: These hauls have been added to your character sheets until you decide what you want to do with them.

Lysanthra feels like this haul has been a successful start to their trip. She has already accomplished this much and knows that there will be more adventures to come. "Do you want to head back now? I feel like this is a good start and I'm happy with it for now. " She asks Brad, glancing around once more. Liz is thinking this will be a good day and she's thankful for the people she is with right now.

"Yeah we might as well head back," Brad says with a nod, "Not like we'd be able to carry much more anyways," he adds with a grin.
He does keeping looking around from time to time. The lack of wildlife seems very odd. Maybe he should check if anyone has a geiger counter or something. This may not be a good place to camp.
