Megana leaves the bar, thinking about the game. Luckily, she'd folded. She had nothing but a ten high card for a kicker, which is nothing compared to Miss Hoffman's full house. Her name is Meg, too, which could be confusing to people if they're in the same place.

The walk home isn't far. It's at the other end of town from the bar. So the walk is rather short. She sees Vi head for the gym as she gets home, finding her mom and grandmother tending to chores. They gladly accept her help. The work is especially hard and makes her hungry, even after the cheeseburger. She pets Midnight's black mane and can immediately sense that her grandmother's favorite horse is nervous about racing tomorrow. Meg can almost feel it.

Her mom and grandmother cook up some salted and buttered corn on the cob and chicken marsala with extra wine sauce. It goes great with red wine, which Meg's mom lets her try on nights before big races to calm any nerves she might have. After supper, it's late and she knows she needs rest for the next day.

After Meg cleans up for bedtime, she gets into her pajamas and hops into bed. She looks out of her bedroom window. The pasture is right outside and Midnight is at the window, almost begging her to open her window. Meg opens it and Midnight sticks her head in and steals a few pieces of candy left on her window sill. The other horses usually go about their business, but not Midnight. She's strong and fast and only five years old. Undefeated in racing, Meg can sense uneasiness in Midnight as she lies back and finally drifts off to sleep. Midnight does the same with her head resting on the window ledge.

As morning rolls around, Meg is woken up by the absence of Midnight's occasional snorting and heaving breathing. She sits up, rubs her eyes and lets out a yawn. She peers out the window, seeing that it's well past sunrise. oO(I slept in.)Oo

In a panic, she runs to the kitchen to find no one else home. There is a plate of pancakes with bacon and bowl of mixed fruit. Next to that is a note that reads, 'Meg, we wanted you to get plenty of rest for your race today. Don't eat too much after breakfast until after your race. On the back of this note is the festival event list. Have fun!'

She flips the paper over and reads the list:

She then realizes that today is the festival, which means some of the cute boys from Smith Falls may already be there!

OOC: For clarification, credits are like dollars, but have multiple styles (Universal, Standard, Coalition and Black Market are the main ones) The ones presented in the list are standard.

Megana deeply sighs, getting her head in the game. Today's the big race and she needs to win badly. She heads dining roon to eat breakfast with her mother and grandmother and to help prepare midnight for the race...today she will prove herself as a rider....

Seeing that no one is home, she finishes her breakfast and heads out to check on Midnight and stretch and warm up. Midnight and about half of the other horses aren't in the normal pasture. They're in the pen closest to main street. The closer Meg gets to the front of their ranch, the more people she sees. More than she's ever seen. She only recognises a few people. There must be about two thousand people crowded on main street. The noise and excitement is unreal.

She eventually finds her mom renting out horses while her grandmother tends to the ones waiting. It looks as though her grandmother already brushed Midnight down and has had her reshoed for the races. The spare stables has many of the other racing horses stalled up. Meg counts ten other horses stabled in preparations to race. They all look strong and fast.

"You're in for a tough race, Meg." Her grandma says, "Some of these are from the far away lands. Came here to test our fastest."

"Oh mom, stop!" Meg's mom protests, "She's gonna do great." Her mom glances back at her and winks. "Your race isn't for about five hours. Go have fun. Find your friends! Check out some of the fun activities."

She smiles as she spoke "i can handle it grandma. But yeah midnight and i are gonna kick some tail today...for now yeah i am gonna go see if frank and teddy are free to hangout" with that Megana...heads into town to hunt down her friends.

The second credit hunt has already started. Many of the carnival rides are already constructed or near completion. The sheer noise is unreal. There are booths, tents, displays and things going on every several feet. Meg sees a few people that she recognises, but doesn't really hang out with. Megana notices a sign, "Petting zoo," with an arrow pointing east of town.

At that moment, Meg nearly gets knocked over by a brown haired guy with the most piercing brown eyes. He catches her and stands her back up, in an almost affectionate embrace. He smells good, like some cologne that she's never smelled. He's tall and wearing a shirt that reads, "Smith Falls Tigers." It has a fierce looking cat emblazoned across the front and a nametag reading, "Rockford."

He steps back, keeping his hands on her shoulders, "Are you okay? I'm so sorry."

She softly squeaked when getting knocked "ow...damn i need to watch where i am going...."she accepts his help up "its fine just got alot on my mind and alot of jumpy nerves"she laughs nervously

"Hey! It's okay!" He has a handsome smile, like he's rehearsed it to perfection. He never lets go of her hand. "I thought my friends were coming, but either they didn't show or I can't find them. I don't know anyone here." He shouts over the buzz of the crowd, "Would you show me around? My name's Sam. What's yours?"

She lightly blushes. As she softly spoke "Megana is my name" her shy nature comes out...."are you competing in anyrhung?"she asks. "I am looking for my friends but kinda got sidetracked" she sheepishly admits while rubbing the back of her head with her hand.

Sam gets a better view of Megana and also begins to blush, "Umm, yeah." he tries to regain composure, "I'm competing in the King of the Ring later. I was dared to for money, so..." He nervously chuckles, "What about you?"
