OOC: <-- stands for out of character. Use this prefix to speak as yourself and not your character; like I am now. For those of you new to this game, this is the start of actual game play. After reading through the post, please reply back in 3rd person (not first) as to what your character is experiencing from your point of view. It's okay to use ChatGPT (Chat Gippity) to edit your post, if you like. Or you can practice your raw writing skills. Either way, pay attention to your character sheets on what your limits are and remember: You can try anything and get lucky (like defusing a bomb) or more than likely miserably fail if you don't have that specific skill, but sometimes worth trying. Unfortunately, our past posts were edited out for the full story so there aren't many examples of how a player's post translates after I (the game master) write in the outcome of each player and NPCs (Non player characters) actions. Good luck, have fun with this and interactions make this game so much more fun. Now, let's get started!

OOC2: I suggest reading the prelude for background on Fort Hammer's setting and atmosphere.

OOC3: https://ivyandchrome.wildeyenterprises. ... c90175e6d7 <-- you can find some pointers and rules here.
************************************************
Francis "Frank" Coulee - Tyler Keller - Brewer and shorter than most. Has ginger hair and deep sea green eyes that are his only saving grace for his appearance. Awkward in conversations. What he lacks in looks, he makes up for in graceful movements and brains.

Megana "Meg" Damodred - Megan Ross - Animal Friend, better than average looks with long white hair and deep blue eyes. She's shorter and smaller than all of her peers.

Teddy Swenson - Sandy brown hair, blue eyes. Average height and husky, his bitter attitude is usually. Slightly older than his peers.
**********************************************
Megana smiles as she walks with the guys, who keep offering her a drink of their bottles of 'apple juice.' She knows that Francis made it, so it's probably alcohol. Although, he makes a variety of malt vinegars for the businesses around and sometimes sodas to sell from Vi's dad's grocery store. But, it's probably not apple vinegar they're drinking.

The thought reminds her that she hasn't seen Vi all week. She has a big fight against Ted tomorrow. She just finished a fight in Smith Falls last Monday. She's either training or not around when Meg is. Meg's been busy too, helpig her mom and grandmother tend to the horses and daily chores. So there hasn't been much time. It's hard since her father disappeared. Some say he died in the mountains to the west. Others say that he lost his mind or was possessed and ran into the wilds. Either way, that happened nearly a decade ago. Almost too long ago to remember.

With Ted on one side of her, bantering about how he's going to show everyone that he's the pinnacle of boxing skill, and Frank on the other side, jabbering on about how to sneak his dad's whiskeys and liquors into the festival, Meg just smiles as she enjoys the background noise of the two. Almost soothing.

Last night was another bad dream. She can't remember most of it, but she woke up rather exhausted with a scratch across the back of her hand. Almost like a bobcat had caught her in her sleep. It's been happening more and more since her sixteenth birthday. She remember seeing her father, at least, how she remembered him, screaming for her to run. But she can't remember why. There was something behind him, large and floating, covered in spikes, even spikes for fingers, staring at her, not her dad.

"MEG!" Teddy snaps his fingers in front of her face, "Snap out of it! You're daydreaming again." Teddy hands the bottle back to Frank, "What's going on with you today? Kendal invited us out to lunch at Bottoms Up."

Kendal has always been a good friend to Meg. Recently, though, she hasn't talked much. Megana knows that Kendal has a huge crush on Ted, but he doesn't really care. Everyone's told her as such, but it doesn't matter to her. "Where there's a will, there's a way." Kendal would always fire back. Meg wonders if Kendal took it to heart and is avoiding her.

"We can't take these bottles into the saloon," Francis states, "My mom will know. Or at least check."

Teddy nods, "Yeah, true." as he grabs his bottle back and gulps it down. "Ah! refreshing!"

Meg glances at Frank, who's eyes are pleasant to look at, but he's hard to talk to. Some say his intelligence puts him on a whole different plane of thought than the average person. Some just say that where he lacks in social skill and looks, he made up with brain power.

Frank has always liked Teddy, Meg and Kendal. They've always had his back, but he's sure it's mostly to get free booze or help with solving some simple problem. He's never had a problem with Vi, yet, Vi always seems too busy to give him the time of day. Brad is always busy with work, but isn't horrible to be around, especially in a scrape... quite literally. Finally, Johnny Hollis... oO(Guy is a whiny bitch)Oo Yet, Frank understands that that's just how Johnny is. He means no harm, but Teddy absolutely can't stand him. He tries to toughen Johnny up with a few thumps here and there. It just makes Johnny whine more.

With his mom and dad doing deliveries for the festival, Frank gets to spend most of the day with his friends, instead of brewing up another batch at home or in the saloon basement. Many of the drinks have French names, out of tradition.

The Coulees have been very proud of their French heritage and have passed down to him. Centuries ago, his ancestor, Francois, who he's named after, came to Fort Hammer from a place called Versailles, France. In fact, Francois, his great great great grandfather, had so many amazing stories passed down. His grandfather supposedly faced a great demon and drove it away. He was also struck by lightning and walked away like nothing happened. Nowadays, he'd be burned at the stake. That kind of demonic nonsense either needs an exorcism from Lord Stein, or be burned away.

Every Thursday, the Coulees only speak in French. His father, like his late grandfather, believes in keeping the language and culture alive. In fact, last night, his father caught some snails, tried to season them up to eat, but his mother refused to let herself or Frank try them. That was quite the fight, leading to his father tossing them out. So his father will probably have a sour attitude all day lon...

"Frank!" Teddy shouts, "Holy! What is with you two? Did the 'apple juice' have something extra in it? Cus I ain't feeling it"

Meg and Francis both snap out of their daydreams. Noticing Teddy staring at Mr. Fowler and his crew building the stage with attached fighting ring. Past that is the saloon.

"We going or what?" Teddy asks again, kicking a small rock toward the two.

OOC: Let the game begin! Just post what your character is doing, saying, thinking, feeling, etc.

Frank looks over at Meg then to Teddy, "Yea...why not. It's not like I have work for once." He then finishes off his bottle and reaches for Teddy's empty. "Let me stash these so I can replace them otherwise my parents will notice extra bottles going missing from supply." He says in a way that suggests he's gotten in trouble for this very thing. Looks up at Meg, "You haven't rly drank much of yours did this batch not come out to your liking?" He asks with an inquisitive tone.

"Let me stash these so I can replace them otherwise my parents will notice extra bottles going missing from supply." He explains in a way that suggests he's gotten in trouble doing this before.

"Fair enough," Teddy says as he lets Frank take the bottle.

Frank turns to Meg, "You haven't really drank much of yours. Did this batch not come out to your liking?" He asks while trying to spot a good hiding spot, but there're too many people around. Tossing them in the garbage can outside of the saloon and getting them later is probably best.

Megana looks up from her drink and nods, "The drink is fine but I've gotta be focused and ready for tomorrow's activities and tonight's nightly chores," she softly smiles. She quickly gulps her drink and follows the others, feeling a burp coming on. She tries to let it out slowly to be quiet, but embarassingly, the most manly burp imaginable escapes her lips.

"Woah!" Ted laughs, "Now that was awesome, Meg," he stumbles slightly, catching himself on Frank's shoulder. "Whoo! Ummm, how strong are those?" He asks, steadying himself.

OOC: Megana and Frank made their saving throw vs alcohol each. Obviously, Ted didn't. He's visibly buzzed.

Frank looks at Teddy and laughs, "I don't think this batch was much stronger than your average wine. How are you buzzed on this?" He asks bluntly. "On the plus side, if you ever try some of my strong hooch it'll last you quite a while with your tolerance." Switching to French he says, "buveur léger et idiot" (silly lightweight drinker, in french) and continues on his way after stashing the bottles.

Frank looks at Teddy with a mix of confusion and concern before helping Meg guide him inside. "Come on Teddy let's find you a place to sit before you decide the floor looks comfortable." He says mockingly.

Switching to French he says, "buveur léger et idiot" (silly lightweight drinker, in french) and continues on his way after stashing the bottles.

Teddy shoots Frank a look that screams, "Watch it, dude."

Megana laughs, but is also concerned about Teddy, " Are you sure you're gonna be okay? I barely felt anything. Oh dear, should we get you inside?" Megana walks up to Ted and helps him get to the saloon door.

At that moment, Teddy stops and faces both of them, "Okay, f*** you guys. I'm just buzzed and mentioned that I noticed." He flashes a grin and waves them both into the saloon reassuringly, "Trust me, I'm fine!"

Frank watches Teddy with a mix of confusion and concern before entering the saloon. "Come on Teddy let's find you a place to sit before you decide the floor looks comfortable." He says mockingly.

Teddy walks in first, calculating each step in case he's wrong about being just buzzed. Meg notices two men at the bar with Frank's mom serving them. One of the men, Sheriff Ericson is nursing a beer as his friend enjoys a watered down whiskey. At the pool table, the sheriff's son, Mason, is playing his own, four year old, version of billiards.

In the middle of the saloon, a restaurant area has one full table. There sits Vi and Kendal, sitting on one side of the table, and Brad and Johnny sitting on the other side.

Teddy shouts out with a beaming smile, "Johnny!" He balls up his fist, "Wanna spar?"
