The Redeemer wakes up part way through the night and lets Darl take a turn at resting. Darl, realizing that he may not need sleep, but meditating will replenish his magical stores, takes his turn at resting and meditating. As dawn breaks, Anastasia finds herself on watch. Knowing that they haven't gotten much rest yet, she allows the others to continue sleeping for a bit longer.

OOC: How late do you want to rest before seeing what the new day brings?

OOC: Just checking to see if anyone's still here in this group?

OOC: Present ... just got back from another week of travelling; and hoping to settle back into a normal routine over the next couple weeks.

Sorry for the delay been like crazy here in my personal life. I will endeavor to have a post out no later than tomorrow.

Jordan’s weary eyes finally fluttered, revealing his brooding sockets that rarely seemed to convey a sense of peace. His soul was a tortured component and nothing would cure it. If he could kill the Unholy himself, then maybe he might find that solace that others found and he could die a happy man. With a deep intake of breath filling his powerful lungs, he exhaled slowly remember he was not a man, he was Apok.

Finally he stood up and made his way to Annas side and smiled wanly as he sat next to her. He took her hand into one of his larger calloused mitts and spoke gently.

“You have grown much my daughter. I don’t know if I will ever call you by your proper name, but you have grown in my eyes. The days ahead will be fraught with danger I am sure, so keep next to me.”

He scanned the horizon. “Have you seen our friends at all? If not I think we need to be moving and get into the city. Darl will be easily sighted due to his size. Go ahead and wake the others I will take your place.” He stated it gently, while putting his hand at the hilt of his blade. He was ready for the new day, maybe it wasn’t going to be as hard as he’d originally figured.

"Do you have any ideas where our friends might be?" Darl responds. "I may be able to check on their progress, if err knew their actual location."

"But given that we flew in so that we could make good time, and they were supposed to follow on foot, I wouldn't expect to see them for at least another day. Did I misunderstand something?"

OOC: By our estimate, knowing how fast a typical Apok is, if they pushed Zeke they would likely get into town sometime early morningish perhaps even before sunrise. The reason it took the group so long before is because they weren't pushing as hard and they stopped for the night.

Jordan nodded his approval of what Darl was saying. How would he know that the others would of been home by now? And how would they find them? With all the difficulties they had travelled against, he supposed it was caution that had sparked the need to not tell the guard to be on the look out for their friends.

"You are right my friend, I don't know. However I would expect them to be here within at least a few days. I think we will check with the guard one more time, then we will supply up. No one will get through the gate guards, of that I am sure. Once we have confirmation on if they have entered, we will move forward. We have questions that need answers and we can only do that with our party intact. Lets move." He finished with a tactile inspection of his gear. His rough calloused hands moved with practiced skill over his body ensuring everything was in place before moving on.

The group of friends makes their way wearily, except Darl who apparently never gets tired, back out into the town to track down the guard they had spoken to earlier. As it turns out, he is currently off duty and is likely on his way to whatever nightmares or dreams haunt his sleep.

The guard they did talk to let them know that there was a slight disturbance with some Apok and a goblin prisoner just a short time before dawn. "Those two are likely at the Inn still sleeping since that's the only place for travelers. The Apok wouldn't let us take the little beast off it's hands, though. Not right if you ask me; shoulda locked both of 'em up. Trouble brewing...that's all it is."

OOC: Okay, I'm confused. Are we not in the village? I didn't think there were gate guards ... or an inn ... otherwise we would have stayed there last time we were in town, no?

Edit: Never mind. For some reason, I thought the others were in Chisel Town.


IC:

"Apok?" Darl raises an eyebrow. Looking at the others, he adds, "Would be a heck of a coincidence to have yet another of you show up here ... may be our crew. Shall we investigate?"
