Reggie
Ryan
Beth
Mazur
Irina

"Run! Irina, Run!" Beth cries out as the group runs ahead of her. Reggie and Ryan leading the run, with Beth not far behind, but Mazur fell. Noticing, Irina had turned to help Mazur get up, Beth seems like she is torn between helping and running away. He'd twisted his ankle running up the river embankment and now can barely move. The thing, monster, whatever it is, looks like it was once human, but its eyelids had been torn off and lips and cheek are missing, revealing rotting teeth. It's already caught a few of the town folk and half eaten them, killing them. Even with its broken looking leg, it moves quite fast as it tries to catch more people. The people it catches... it's horrible, the final screams of death cut short when it rips out their throats. The screams become a horrible hissing and squeel.

The fish were bad enough, but then than thing entered the town. Irina can only remember running back toward the stream, where the fish attacked. THe sheriff and his friend... missing. Corvus, Hughe, Jiinan, Nova and the others? Maybe still back at the stream. oO(I've seen this before!)Oo Irina thinks. oO(Was it a dream or was it real?)Oo

Mazur hasn't really said much since the monster that scared the man eating fish up the stream stomped into Camp Wilson. Beth finally is beside Irina, "Hurry!" she despairs as she grabs Mazur's other hand and yanks. The trio begin to catch up to Reggie and Ryan as Mazur yelps in pain with each forced step.

Reggie opens the door to his father's tool shed, "In here! We can find tools to fight it with!" Ryan quickly dives in to search.

Beth responds with, "You don't expect me to go near that thing, do you?" Disbelief radiating from her as she continues, "It's a line creature! The same things that killed so many people 14 years ago!"

Mazur slumps against the shed, "Got anything that shoots?" He asks without looking at Reggie.

"No, my dad keeps those hidden." Reggie replies.

"I bet Jiinan wishes he never fought Hughe now. He usually has his pistol with him." Ryan cuts in.

Irina watches as townfolk scatter out of town, into buildings, gather in groups or barricade doors of shops in preparation of the rotting man to come after them. Eventually, she spots the creature in the alley across the street. She knows that no one else has seen it. Terror is the only word to describe the ice cold feeling piercing through her as it stops and stares at her. It's almost as though the creature, for a brief instant, recognizes her. It ignores her and walks back the way it came, out of sight. Irina eventually feels like she can speak as she lets out a sort of unintelligable noise.

Mazur looks up, "Not the time, Rena." concern in his eyes.

OOC: Okay Jordan, you are free to post. Remember, you control Rena's thoughts, dialogue, actions and mannerisms. Good luck! *evil laugh*

Irina takes a deep breath and holds it til she feels more in control. Letting her breath out slowly, she looks to Mazur and, seeing no reassurance, she asks Reggie "What's the plan? We need to come up with something, or we end up like those people we saw on our way here." To herself she thinks, please don't let that happen.

Beth flashes a confused look towards Irina and then Reggie as Mazur seems to grin to himself. Reggie's gray eyes seem to almost glow in the late day sunlight, "Well, everyone grab at least something to keep that thing away, and we head towards Lake Crenshaw. Jack and Shep both hopped on the ATVs. My guess is that they are going for help. I heard my dad say something about Lake Crenshaw before he told us to run."

More screams can be heard from a few blocks over. Nothing visible from where Irina stands. Ryan brandishes a pitch fork with a triumphant smile, "Covered in poop! That'll show it!"

Mazur snorts, "Yeah, I don't think it can be infected anymore than it is. That thing already looked dead."

Irina notices that Beth is shaking as Reggie hands her a metal rake. Reggie lets out a light hoorah as he finds his homemade metal sword from when he was ten. He holds the rusted horridly created thing up. "I bet it will cut through it," He nods, trying to reassure himself.

Reggie looks to Irina and Mazur, "We have a spade, garden shears, a couple wrenches and a sledgehammer. Oh! Also, and our old wood axe, but the top tends to come flying off."

Mazur replies, "If Irina doesn't mind, Ill take the sledge."

"Awfully noble of you Mazur" the sarcasm is not well hidden in Irina's voice. "I suppose I'll take the garden shears then." Irina tests the weight of the shears in her hands and hopes she can handle doing what is necessary if the need arises. She looks from face to face trying to read their emotions. She steels herself, and asks "Are we just going to stand here and wait for that thing to find us? Or are we going to get a move on and get out of here?"

Ryan growls, "Maybe we should take a chance and take it down. I mean, with Reggie's sword and Mazur's mallot, we can take its legs out." He spins the pitchfork like its a shredder.

Mazur snorts, "No. I prefer to not get eaten, thank you very much."

"I'm sorry," Beth agrees, "I won't go near it either."

Reggie shrugs, "Ryan's right. That thing will kill unless someone stops it." He looks towards Irina, "Up to you. We are safer in numbers."

Irina purses her lips. There are only a few ways this can end up, and none involve the group getting away unscathed. "We need to try to get rid of it now. Beth, Mazur? You in? We could use all the help we can get." She silently begs them to help. Turning back to Ryan and Reggie, "I think the best way to do this would be to sneak up behind it and one of us go in front and distract it while the rest of us attack." She plays with the hem of her shirt, waiting for their responses.

Mazur frowns, "And who do you propose is going to be the bait?" He seems to be considering Irina closely as Beth seems to take a step backwards, flattening her back against the wall. Ryan and Reggie smile as they peek up the street, looking for the thing. Screams can still be heard from the direction of the stream, where everyone was fishing at.

Irina bites her lip and sighs. She knew this wasn't going to be easy. "I think either Reggie, Ryan, or myself should be the bait. It keeps you two out of danger and if the three of us need help, you can send Beth to find someone and you, Mazur, you can pitch in with that sledge hammer you were so keen on having." She can feel the sweat on her forehead, a sure sign that she is feeling under pressure. "Like Reggie said, we are safer in numbers, but if you can't find it in you to help, then we can't force you. I hope you can at least help if we really are in trouble." She levels what she hopes is a challenging glare at Mazur, and turns to Ryan and Reggie. "What do you say guys?"

Ryan nods, "You can be the bait, Irina, Ill clobber that thing!" he seems eager.

Mazur meets her gaze equally with his own retort. "If you didn't notice, but that thing has been dragging down and eating some of our more fit friends. I might be able to slow it down, but I'm not fast or incredibly strong. Sledgehammer is only good to keep it at bay or bust through a wall or door that I may need to escape through. It's suicide if you ask me." Mazur frowns, "But, if I let you go alone, I will lose a friend. I can't live with that." He leans on his sledgehammer, "And if I die, Ill haunt you forever."

Reggie sighs, "Okay! Let's go!" As Beth looks as though she is about to run away.

"OK then. I'll go find it and lure it back this way." Irina makes a mental note to never, EVER, make any suggestions like that again. Stupid. "So I suggest you guys hide somewhere real close, and when you see it go past you, don't let it get too far before you attack. When I hear that happen, I'll come back and help if I can." Even more stupid, she chides herself. "Ready?"
