OOC: Your Lore rolls (both Wormwood and Demons & Monsters) did give you any knowledge except what I already posted, sorry. It is safe to assume, however, that any creature on Wormwood could potentially be allied with the Unholy and, as Belle well knows, that includes church priests.

The crowd parts around them and gives them a wide birth as they can't help but take notice of the two figures squaring off. They don't run in fear but they definitely quicken their pace. The tension in the air is palpable and it may take very little to set off a riot and general panic.

"You might ask," the being in front of Belle responds somewhat cooly. "And if you were to take off that mask and quit frightening the local residents, I might even be inclined to answer," he responds. Gesturing around at the crowd edging away from them, he adds,"Rest assured, I mean no threat to you or anyone else here."

ooc: My apologies. I thought I had finished and sent a response last night but seem not to have done through. Wording of course is different.

Belle respond, a smile hidden by her mask, "Somehow I don't think you are frightened by the visage. What you see is as much me as the pretty face that is under the mask."

Her thoughts are anyway that the mask puts her in a position of strength while without the mask, she is often dismissed as just a pretty and vapid nothing. Actually not a bad description, if too simple, of what she once was.

"If they are afraid of me or not, I am sorry about their discomfort. I will protect them if I am able. I am not one to hold somebody's appearance against them. Still, as you might know, I once served the Unholy. I would like your assurance that you do not work with the Unholy or are a servant of evil," Belle responds. If the Temporal Raider did once serve the Unholy, that may be a different issue. She is, after all, proof that one can change.

"I don't mean to offend ..." The creature responds "Perhaps it's just that, as someone who isn't blessed with the same option, I'm a little more sensitive to the impact my own visage has on the humans around me."

"As for who I serve, for the moment I am serving ... um ... this man here, helping to offload his burden," he states, gesturing to the old man. "I'm sorry sir, but I'm afraid I didn't get your name!"

"Ah, I didn't tell you my name? How rude of me. Are you sure?" the man looks a little bewildered. "My name's Willard."

The raider turns back to Belle and adds, "Outside of that, I suspect I am much like you ... I serve no other master but my own self."

Jonesy looks startled for a moment and then peers closer at the old man "Uncle Willard, is that you? It is you! What the devil are you doing all the way up here in Chisel Town?"

"Aye, what?" The old man responds and steps forward to try to get a better look "Jonesy? Jonesy, is that you my boy? I thought you were in Newhome still. How's Sansa and what have you gotten yourself into? You better not have gotten my niece into trouble!"

"The mask is part of my and reminds me of the evil that was in my soul so that I never forget," Belle responds, carefully examining the temporal raider.

Taking a deep breath, she responds "My apologies. I do not want to cause offense but I take the duty I took on seriously. We both have reputations which precede us."

"I see myself in service of Wormwood and the universe in general, to fight the dark where I can."

Pausing, Belle asks, "Do you need any help with the packages? I can afford a few minutes to help." she will help unless told not to. To her, it is a way of showing that she does not want to cause any hard feelings. One will note that she is immensely strong for her size and build.

After getting done, the cloaked and masked states, "I am sorry but I need to get moving. Jonesy had some problems a few hours away from here. Some goblins attacked and I m hoping that some f what was lost in the attack might be able to be recovered."

OOC: Ignoring the "After it gets done..." last paragraph. Too big of a jump in timeline.

The raider steps out from between the wagon's arms. "If you wish," he states. "Our friend here is headed to the cathedral. I fear that I do not know the way; and suspect that my welcome there would be even colder than that I recieved here," he adds with a sideways grin. "You, at least, would be less likely to end up attacked on sight," he jokes. Belle can now see that the wagon is full of some sort of mushroom. It appears to be resin formed with two wheels in the rear and two peg legs in the front to balance while at rest. It is designed to be pulled using the two handles sticking out the front.

Turning to the old man and his nephew, the raider looks for an opportunity to jump into their conversation. "So you're from Newhome, you say ... do you happen to know John and Harvey? They arrived here late last night ... I ran into the rest of their travel party yesterday, and am supposed to pass along a message for them."

With a bit of surprise, Jonesy looks to Belle to see how she would like to respond.

"After the Confessor, I don't think the Cathedral would react very well to my presence," Belle answers, a thoughtful tone in her voice that seems detectable even though her mask.

Under her mask, the blond haired Apok bites her lip. Honesty though is the best idea in her mind. "They should have passed through the gates before me. They did seem pretty jumpy around an Apok, something neither of you seem to be." She actually is mildly surprised at how easily the man is taking her presence.

ooc: Had to do a search to see if I could find John and Harvey
Also, I did the extra bit because I though you might want to continue

The raider pauses for a moment, slightly confused ... as the Apok's words settle in.

"You mean ... you do know them? And you talked to them before they entered last night?" he asks ... trying hard to contain his excitement at this continued bit of good fortune.

He stares past the Apok at the guards approaching as he awaits her response.

"No, I would not say I know them," Belle responds. "I met them but briefly with the exception of an armored warrior named Dan. I spoke with him a bit longer."

Noticing that she might not be understood, "I only me them, with the exception of Dan, this morning when they were on their way out of the city."

The Apok looks towards the guards coming in their direction, "I think it would be best if we cut this short. The guards are probably trying to figure out what nefarious plots that we might be coming up with."

ooc: Sorry it is so short but did not want to run too far off with the thread.

The raider ignores the comment about the guards, still digesting her first two statements.

"This morning?" he asks, somewhat confused. "Dan?"

Gesturing with a thumb over his shoulder behind him, he adds, "You mean *THAT* Dan? Just now?"

Not really waiting for her answer, he turns his head and starts trying to scan the crowd for the tall armored figure and looking for two men who fit the proper descriptions walking with it.

Trying to be helpful, Belle points over at the last place where she saw the figures go, "I think they might be over there."

The Apok wonders to herself if they will react any better to him than they did to her when she put the mask on. It is a perplex question. Without the mask, she is dismissed as being little more than a pretty face yet with the mask people recoil in horror. Which is actually better.

She will look towards Jonesy, "Ready to get moving?"
