Reggie stows his rifle as he watches the shiny armored woman fly off on her impressive looking jet bike. Presumably she's good if she can afford that kind of gear. Al looks amused by something, Karen just looks grumpy. "Our mystery woman is awake. Nova's inside keeping an eye on her. I figured you'd like to talk to her soon as possible," he says to his dad. Then he nods to the other two and heads into the clinic to reassure those inside. "Just a newcomer showing off by shooting a vulture," he tells them.
Hank follows him in, boots thudding. “Yeah, that lady is definitely something. Never caught her name. But she’s heading to check out the Drive City situation.”
When they step into Nomea’s room, she and Nova are mid‑giggle about something unknown, something light enough to feel out of place after the morning they’ve had. Both women straighten when Hank and Reggie enter. Nomea nods at Reggie, tries to speak, then chokes on her water with a sputtering laugh. “Pleased… ta meetcha,” she manages, wiping her mouth and trying to look composed.

Reggie smiles and then performs introductions. "Miss Nomea, this is Sheriff Harper. Sheriff, Miss Nomea." Reggie tries not to call him dad while 'on duty' as a deputy.
He moves over to stand near Nova, giving her a smile and nod.

Reggie smiles and then performs introductions. "Miss Nomea, this is Sheriff Harper. Sheriff, Miss Nomea." Reggie tries not to call him dad while 'on duty' as a deputy. He moves over to stand near Nova, giving her a smile and nod.
Nova reaches for him without looking, her fingers slipping into his. Her hand is shockingly cold and dry, brittle, freezer-cold, as though she’d been sifting through an icebox.
Hank steps forward, giving Nomea a polite nod. “Hello, Miss…” His brow tightens. “Pardon me, but your name. Is it Nomea or Patricia? Your identification says Patricia.”
She exhales sharply, shoulders sagging. “Yeah… Patty’s my real name. I give strangers ‘Nomea.’ It’s easier to remember.”
Hank studies her. “Really… why?”
Her eyes flick toward the window, toward the world beyond it. “Because it’s hell out there.”
“Fair enough.” Hank gently lifts the edge of her blood‑spattered shirt between two fingers. The stains are dark, dried, and violent. “Whose blood is this? You’ve only got minor scrapes and bruises.”
“My boyfriend’s…” Her voice fractures. Tears swell, trembling at the edges. “He… didn’t make it.”
Hank’s expression hardens, but not cold, more braced. “I’m sorry to put you through this, but… can you tell me what happened?” His gaze locks onto her soft green eyes, steady as a hand on a shoulder.
She nods, trembling. “Yes. They had a demonic being with them. It was huge... maybe ten, fifteen feet tall. I got too close and Dax pushed me out of the way when it picked him up and just… squeezed. Like a car crusher,” her voice breaks. “It was awful. I ran. I can’t get the image out of my head… his insides… they came out of his mouth… his eyes popped…” Her words dissolve into raw, choking sobs.
Nova releases Reggie’s hand and steps forward, rubbing Nomea’s back in slow, soothing circles. Nomea leans into her touch like someone who hasn’t felt gentleness in days.
Hank nods solemnly. “Thank you. And I’m sorry for making you relive that.” He looks to Reggie. “Deputy Harper may have more questions later. I’ll have him stay in town. If you remember anything else, or if you need someone nearby to feel safe. He’s a competent marksman. I trust him with my life.”
The sheriff’s face doesn’t shift, but his shoulders carry the weight of everything he’s just heard. He nods once to Reggie and leaves the room, steps heavy, as though each one drags a memory behind it. Reggie remembers that he's escaped a similar demon just over a decade ago.
Nomea hides her face, reaching blindly until her fingers find Nova’s hand. Nova glances back at Reggie. “I can stay with her if you have other things to do in town.”

Reggie returns the hand squeeze from Nova, puzzled somewhat by her hand seeming colder than usual. [OOC: I know her body temp is low, but I don't think it was that cool usually]
Reg tries not to wince at the description of the boyfriend's fate. That's a hard way to go, though likely quick. It's sounding like there might not be much left of Drive City.
"I'm sure that Apple would like me to give her another snack," Reggie says with a grin, "but other than that, I'm free. I wrote up my patrol report earlier, and the Sheriff knows everything that's happened since."
Reggie looks over to Nomea, his face becoming more serious. "I can stick around or leave, whichever you are more comfortable with, Miss." The description

[OOC: I know her body temp is low, but I don't think it was that cool usually]
OOC2: She's classified as a half-living. After surviving a coma from a zombie attack, a half living manages to cling to life and not fully convert to a zombie, however, her average body temperature is around 30-40 degrees (Fahrenheit) cooler than normal.

She nods, "I could use the company if you're free. But if you have things to do, then would she stay with me?" she gestures to Nova, to which, Nova nods.

"I can stick around a while," Reggie says with a smile and then leans back against a cabinet (or table/etc) near Nova. "So, you've been answering a bunch of our questions, have you got any of your own?
OOC: i can't recall if I've uncuffed Nomea from the bed. If not, he'll do so now.

"Where am I? And how did I get here?" she asks.
The doctor walks by, briefly glancing in to make sure that all is okay. Reggie overhears him talking to one of the volunteer nurses, but barely, "Listen, the lab readings on her don't make sense. Would you run these tests again? I'm thinking that ..." door closes, then seconds later, opens, "... I want to be sure."

"We're in Camp Wilson. We're a fair distance from Drive City, you must have been walking for quite a while through the wilderness. When we spotted you, I rode over to see who you were but you passed out."
Reggie is feeling a little suspicious. What he overheard of the Doc's comments combined with the question of how did she cross the distance from Drive City to Camp Wilson on foot only slightly slower than Reck on his hovercycle? That and the different names. Something feels off.

Nomae's green eyes seem to smile while her lips create a thin line, she stares across the floor, "Yea... I don't know," her eyes seem interested in Nova, who's giving her hand another squeeze, "I just know that this way was safe."
"Well, you're safe here." Nova seems to latch onto anyone who'll consider her a close friend, even for a moment.
Finally, the doctor walks back in and gestures to Reggie to follow him.

"I'll be right back ladies," Reggie says with a smile. He follows the doc to (presumably) another room.
Once they have some privacy. he says, "What's up? I caught you asking the nurse to rerun some tests. I'm guessing something is odd with our new guest?"
