{OOC: Just to clarify, everyone but Daniel exchanged notes back at the Inn at the start of this, the second, chapter. Daniel wasn't there yet, though. I stated to assume that anything in the chapter one descriptions were now common knowledge to every character that took part in chapter one.}

"I'm going to stay here for a bit longer to see if I can piece anything else together. I doubt it but what you all are heading to do isn't where whatever talents I might have delve into." Gerard smiles. "One quick question before you all go, looking at the list does anyone see any pattern at all as at first glance it's just a bunch of random things. Can anything on that list be used together or as parts for something? Can't help but think there is something either in this room or about this note we are missing that could at least point us in a direction to start..." Gerards voice trails off in thought as he again looks around the room and at the note also playing back what the visions had shown them to see if there is any connections at all. "Can you have one or two of the guards also step into the room here with me as I would like to have more eyes with me as well as it not be just me in here after all that has gone on."

OCC- Gerard will go ahead and stay in the room. If Brother Tobias comes back in Gerard will ask him if there is anything else he can offer advice/information wise that he has not so far. Also is the room well lit aka are there not a lot of shadows around.

Gerard stands alone in the reasonably well lit room {OOC: In other words, not likely anyplace that a shade could use to do a shadow meld}, but a priest shortly appears at the doorway and looks around the room as well. Gerard doesn't find anything else of note in the room.

This might be a good time for everyone to do some inter-character roll playing. You'll need to figure out between you what to do now that you've inspected the crime scenes to death.

How much of what Darl saw in the visions is he passing on to the other characters? So far it's been pretty limited, but if you want them to know everything or you want Darl to filter what they know, you can indicate that in a post.

There have been some questions and thoughts tossed out by various characters that have so far been ignored. Remember, this isn't just a story with you and the GM, you need to talk to each other as well.

"Ok guys we have to try to put the peices together here .. What do we all actually know here ? ..... Early mornin hours , a raid comence , then a fire breaks outs . people flee some killed ..... this orb turns up missing . then a shade walts into town and kills off 2 guards and Father Malaki... how did everyone get to town here and from where ? "

Daniel crosses his arms and leans against the wall , in what appears to be deep thought .

Darl comes out of his most recent casting, and approaches the group group once again. Quietly, so as not to be overheard, he states, "After killing the guards, the demon rounded the corner and headed east. It melded into the first shadow that it passed, at which point I lost it."

Taking a moment, he asks the others to catch him up on any discoveries or conversations which occured during the ~10 minutes or so that he was in trances, viewing the events from the past. (OOC: Taking some liberties here, assuming that someone is willing to share information, in the interest of moving things along ...)

"Well, then ... So we've got a few options..."

"One, we could try and track the shade. Using where it disappeared into the shadows, we could probably make an educated guess as to where it went next ... it would have stayed to the shadows as much as possible, and probably headed east in general. It may have left town, or may still be here. However, since they typically don't really like bright light, I suspect it most likely would have chosen to find a place to hole up for the day, rather than travelling across the open plain during the day; in which case, it's likely still in the area ... possibly one of the empty houses. Or, it had other tasks to attend to over there ... by the way, Daniel ... in which direction lies your fountain?"

"Two, we can try and decode the markings on the token I found, in order to try and figure out something more about the demons who raided the town yesterday. Personally, I think this probably isn't all that urgent at the moment, and we can tackle this task later ... assuming we still have that book?" Darl looks towards Gerard for confirmation.

"Three, we can assume that whoever stole the orb, the unholy doesn't yet have it. Based on the interrogation of Father Malaki, the demon was either trying to find the orb itself, or ..." Darl pauses for a moment, to explore the new thought that just popped into his head. "Hmmm ... It could be that the demon raid did find the orb, but the unholy doesn't know how to use it. Perhaps that is what the shade was actually after."

Switching back to his original thought, Darl continues. "Four ... that note. It appears that Father Malaki may have been trying to send us a message; based on where it was found. I can't say for certain, but he may also have had it crumpled in his hand during his interrogation, as if he was hiding it. You made a comment that it might be the key to something ... so that's another possible avenue for investigation.

"Five, we can decide to stop now, and each go our separate ways. I'll go on record and state that this certainly is not my own intention ... but if there is anyone who doesn't feel up to the challenge at hand, now is the time to say so. I suspect that no matter which choice we make, our current path leads us quickly towards danger, and that our only chance of success lies in 100% trust and cooperation. If any of us are not ready to make that commitment, and follow this prophecy through to it's end, then the time to speak is now."

With all that said, Darl finally turns his attention to the stack of papers that Daniel had handed him between casts. Just as he begins to scan them, another thought pops into his head.

"Whatever we do ... assume that the Shade already knows our choice. Somehow, it knew that someone was going to pick up this particular trinket, and chose it from all the others in that room in order to cast some sort of spell through it ... a spell that triggered as soon as I picked it up. That suggests that it too may be something of an oracle, or have the ability to glimpse into the future - which means we'll need to be extra wary."

"I'd love to know just what that spell was, to be honest. I have a sneaking suspicion that it may have been a curse attempt; which, if successful, certainly would not help our current situation."

Darl will listen carefully to any response or discussion, while at the same time browsing through Father Malaki's papers which Daniel had handed to him back in the office.

"Well, that's close, Daniel, but it was my understanding that the fire started first and then a raiding party showed up." Jordan responds. "It's a fine point, but means that the raiding party could have come because they saw smoke and didn't have the intention of stealing the orb. As far as where I came from, I can speak for Jordan, The Redeemer and I", he says while indicating each in turn. He then proceeds to fill Daniel in on what they know. {OOC: Daniel now knows everything in Ch. one about Jordan, The Redeemer and Anastasia.} "It would probably be helpful if Daniel knows everyone else's experiences yesterday since it all seems to be related somehow."

Jordan also fills in Darl on recent happenings.

Jordan looks around to the others, waiting to see what they think of Darl's assessment of the situation.

Gerard heads out of the office and to find the others hearing them tell of their experiences before coming to town. "Ah seems like I can give you an account of how I ended up here as some of you all might not know the story. I resupplied in Chisel Town and made my way towards demon territory. This path lead me along the road where this little town is located. Along the way I encountered some of the townsfolk fleeing the demon attack. Mostly women and children and a few men as well." Gerard pauses a second and mutters something about ungrateful people and just trying to help. "Sorry moving on, I stopped when I saw a group that had a girl that seemed injured badly and wanted to see if I could do anything to help and also asked about what happened in the town. When all was said and done I learned that demons were attacking the town and the people were fleeing and also heading to try and get some medical attention. So Zeke and I hurried to town to see if there was anything we could do to help. Oh I was also asked to pass on a message to one of the men here from his wife that she was alive and ok which I did. Come to think of it not sure if any of us have talked to him as he was here when it was all going on. Let me know if you all think it necessary and I'll ask him his account if needed and he has the time. And there you have it Gerard's journey to this place. If you all have any questions just ask."

Daniel listens to Gerard .

" Gerard was there any problems as you made your way here ? ... Knowing that several people flee the town when the raids hit .. maybe someone or a small group made off with the list of things you might have come in contact with .. "

Daniel thinks to himself bout how he got here to wormwood ..

OOC: Just curious, while we're waiting for people to post, how much of the "visions" did Darl pass on to the group? Just the exact statements that were made or did he give a play by play?

OOC: If it gets things going, assume they know all.

In the meantime, Darl will try and decode anything he can from the papers he was handed (if everyone else is absorbed in their own thoughts ...)
