Frank looks around then at his cards, and finally over at Vi, "Well, if I has to guess I think she just hit on that queen." oO(she didn't get a 3 if a kind off of that did she)Oo "Since it's just for fun this time I still think you're bluffing" Frank calls Vi's bet.

Brad thinks, 'Well, at least I'm not being as obvious as Johnny. Though I suspect the Sheriff has about as much trouble reading any of us as he does reading Green Eggs and Ham.'
Looking around the table, he ponders a moment and them pushes a few more seeds in. "I raise three," on his turn, before calling when Vi goes all in.

OOC: I may have misunderstood. I thought the sheriff going all in meant he had seeds, too. No matter to my character, he wasn't going to bet after the flop, anyway.

OOC: Player placement, in order from the door going clockwise: Vi (L), Johnny (B), Brad, Meg, empty chair, Miss Hoffman, sheriff, Frank, Dane, empty chair.
Brad thinks, oO(Well, at least I'm not being as obvious as Johnny. Though I suspect the Sheriff has about as much trouble reading any of us as he does reading Green Eggs and Ham)Oo Looking around the table, he ponders a moment and them pushes a few more seeds in. "I raise three," on his turn.
Megana folds as she observers the room with a straight face, "I'll fold for this round."
Miss Hoffman calls. The sheriff smiles as he winks at anyone willing to look at him. Frank calls.
Dane slides his cards forward and shakes his head. “Not worth staying in. I fold.”
He leans back a little, giving Vi and Johnny space to make their choices, though his own attention drifts for a moment—wondering what that folded slip of paper might mean.
OOC: Are there any additional details about the piece of paper the sheriff contributed?
OOC: It's folded up, but there are clues that there could be some writing on it, but Dane can't really read it.
Johnny folds, pushing his cards towards the discard.
Frank looks around, then at his cards, and finally over at Vi, "Well, if I has to guess I think she just hit on that queen." oO(She didn't get a 3 if a kind off of that, did she?)Oo "Since it's just for fun this time, I still think you're bluffing" Frank calls Vi's bet.
Vi goes all in. Brad calls. Miss Hoffman calls. Sheriff continues smiling.
When the dust settles, Dane looks toward the sheriff and the others who’ve matched his bet. “Alright, Mr. Ericson, and anyone else who called, please turn your cards face up since everyone left is all-in.”
Currently, the pot is 46 popcorn seeds and the sheriff's mysterious slip of paper. One by one, in order, the remaining players reveal their cards.
Table cards: 3C, 2H, QS
Brad: Queen of Clubs, Five of Spades (pair of Queens, so far)
Meg: Folded
Miss Hoffman: Two of Spades, three of diamonds (two pair, so far)
Sheriff: Jack of Hearts, Jack of Spades (pair of Jacks, so far)
Frank: Ace of Diamonds, Seven of Spades (chance of a straight)
Dane: Folded
Vi: Four of Diamonds, Seven of Hearts (Chance of a straight)
Johnny: Folded
Dane burns the top card, sets it neatly aside, and lays out the fourth card; the bridge.
Bridge: Ace of Clubs
Brad: Queen of Clubs, Five of Spades (Pair of Queens, so far)
Miss Hoffman: Two of Spades, three of diamonds (Two pair, so far)
Sheriff: Jack of Hearts, Jack of Spades (Pair of Jacks, so far)
Frank: Ace of Diamonds, Seven of Spades (Pair of Aces)
Vi: Four of Diamonds, Seven of Hearts (Chance of a straight)
Without hesitation, since the betting is already decided to the end, Dane repeats the motion, burning another and revealing the final card, the river.
River: Two of Diamonds
Brad: Queen of Clubs, Five of Spades (Pair of Queens)
Miss Hoffman: Two of Spades, three of diamonds (Full House)
Sheriff: Jack of Hearts, Jack of Spades (Pair of Jacks)
Frank: Ace of Diamonds, Seven of Spades (Pair of Aces)
Vi: Four of Diamonds, Seven of Hearts (Pair of Twos)
Miss Hoffman wins with a full house. She slides 46 popcorn seeds back to herself along with the sheriff's note. She opens it and reads it. Her face widens with a large cheesy grin. "Wow, Sheriff Ericson! Do you mean it?"
"I sure do," he smiles as he stands up, "Did you kids all have fun?"
"Not really," Johnny replies.
"Fu... Heck yeah!" Miss Hoffman squeaks, barely correcting herself.

Brad says "Yeah, though I have to remember that low cards can still be valuable."

Dane gives Meg Hoffman a quizzical look at her reaction to the no-longer folded slip of paper, but doesn't say anything to her. "Yeah, would have been better if I could deal myself some decent cards." he responds to the Sherriff's query. He proceeds to collect the cards and then pushes the deck over Vi.

The sheriff walks back to the bar. He grabs several plates that Angie had set down. He walks them back over, handing everyone, who's been waiting, their food. "I figure you were close to winning Dane," he nods towards Miss Hoffman, "But I know how she plays. She got better." He then goes back and plops back down at the bar.
Miss Hoffman grins, holding up the paper, "The sheriff has decided to pay our entry fees into the tournament. All of us!" She peers into Dane's eyes with happiness. "It'll be fun! We might even win!"
"Frank! You guys finish your food and wash your greasy hands before touching those cards again." Angie commands her son.
Johnny grumbles, "Aren't there easier games to bet on? Like Zilch? or Faro?"
Sheriff quickly answers, "There are too many people good at card counting for Faro. Zilch is fun and all, but dice with a bunch of drunk players is a recipe for losing dice and stalling the game too long. You could bet on Megana, if she joins the horse races this year." The sheriff smiles at Meg, reminding her that she's now old enough to race the adults.

"You know it sheriff " Megana tips her hat up with a big grin. Talking about animals always perks her up. She been waiting waiting all year for this race and she has been training hell she raced the sheriff a few times.

Vi seeing the deck of cards slide towards her .. and decides to get up and start to head out.
" Sorry guys let someone else deal the cards, I'm gonna hit the gym and train a bit more sense the fight is tomorrow."
