Reggie Swings again at the neck this time with the blade coming at the back of it. If he can decapitate it, great, if not, well, he'll pull back a bit then move in and swing low, aiming for the back of knee on the Zombie on a stick.

If he can lame it, Shep maybe able to free the pitchfork and try again.

If the decapitation works, he'll move over to Jack, then engage another Zombie, hopefully giving Jack time to recover. If he has to settle for laming it, he'll cover Jack after the leg blow.

Shep sees what Reggie has in mind and tries to direct the nightmare in front of him so as to give Reggie the best angle to swing.

Shep catches Reggie's intent and vainly tries to maneuver the nightmare to off the best swing trajectory, however, the creature's unnatural strength forces Shep's feet to slide through the gravel with each attempt.

The third zombie, now on its feet, charges at Jack. A loud, ear-splitting pop rings out, as a bullet whizzes by Jack's ear, widely missing the zombie. Suddenly, a blur of orange-hair and tight tan body suit enters the fray between Jack and the advancing undead. She shoulders it backwards and knocks it's clawed swing away, followed by a spinning heel kick to its jaw. Only to have it swing back again. The beautiful redhead just steps backward, allowing it to miss. Jack seems awestruck at what just happened in the last split second.

The second zombie shambles past the fray toward the policeman.

Meanwhile, the skewered zombie swipes at Shep, missing both times as Reggie's swing is thrown off by it's sudden unnatural moves; slapping the blade uselessly against its back. He steps back and takes a more accurate swing at the back of it's knee, only to miss when it takes an unexpected step forward.

A group of people are approaching from the east along the street.

Shep could almost jump for joy at seeing the most welcome help coming showing up...however, under the circumstances jumping would not be recommended.

With a renewed vigor and an adrenaline fueled strength in his body, he once again attempts to hold the creature steady so that Reggie can take it down. Shep tells himself how he only has to hold on a little bit longer for help to arrive and as long as he's keeping this zombie tied up, it can't hurt anyone.

Chaser1 wrote:"That's Shep. They need help," Mazur responds, noting that the boxer and seated individual aren't in the most advantageous of positions. Grimacing at the pain in his ankle, he picks up his pace.

Lux has already entered the fray. The boxer and both unskewered zombies are on their feet. As Mazur, Ret, Amy and Beth approach, Mazur notices that the boxer is Jack, Reggie is the guy with the sword and the seated individual is a policeman.

Shep is barely holding the skewered zombie in place as Reggie hopelessly misses two swings on it. Lux is keeping one of the other zombies quite busy with her fancy footwork and kicks, however, she isn't really hurting it, just showing off.

The policeman fired off a round at the zombie and missed it so much that he nearly hit Jack, who's now standing shocked at the chaos that just erupted around him. Blood pouring from an open wound on his cheek, he's too distracted to notice the final zombie speed shambling toward the half conscious policeman, who's swollen black eyes would be lucky to see it coming, even if he was completely coherent. Mazur knows that if he hurries, he might be able to keep the zombie busy, but at the risk of his own safety.
Reggie has no clue who the woman is, but she's doing a good job of keeping it off of Jack, so he goes for another leg cut on the one Shep is trying to hold back. If he can just lame it, they will have a much easier time dealing with it.

Just as he commits to the swing the thought pops into his head, 'Wait, where'd the third one go?'

Mazur drops the sledgehammer, freeing up a hand to search for the end of the rope. "We don't have to get close to them," he tells Ret, forcibly placing one end of the rope into Ret's hand ... physically closing Ret's fingers around his hand, if necessary. "Just run past that policeman, loop around, and we'll clothesline it."

"GO! Now!" Mazur states, giving Ret a shove in the right direction. Holding tight on the other end of the rope, he hauls ass towards the final zombie with Ret, planning to pass behind it, but ready to adjust course in front of it if Ret pulls up short.

'You're an idiot, Mazur,' he thinks to himself as he rushes forward, wincing with every hard step.

Shep almost jumps for joy at seeing the most welcomed help arriving, however, under the circumstances, jumping wouldn't be recommended. With a renewed, vigorous ,adrenaline fueled strength, he once again attempts to hold the creature steady for Reggie to take down. oO(Only a little longer and it can't hurt anyone anymore)Oo Yet, the creatures sheer strength keeps him sliding backwards, focusing more on Shep than anything, as the wind from another swing fans Shep's perspiring face.

One of the newer arrivals, a half dressed girl, flees in terror. Beth chases after her, shouting, "No we're safer with these guys! Don't run!"

Reggie has no clue who the woman is, but she's doing a good job of keeping it off of Jack. He goes for another leg cut on the one Shep is trying to hold back. Just as he commits to the swing the thought pops into his head, 'Wait, where'd the third one go?' Distracting him enough for the swing to harmlessly just slightly rip the creatures pantleg.

Meanwhile, the pretty redhead seems to sadistically enjoy boxing the second zombie, mangling its face even more with a punch followed by a fancy aerial cartwheeling, twisting spin kick. The sheer force of the impact knocks the zombie back a few paces. Even with how brutal it sounded, it keeps advancing, now focusing on Lux. She's so agile that its counter attack is horribly miscalculated as it bats the back of the third zombie's head.

Mazur drops the sledgehammer, freeing up a hand to search for the end of the rope. "We don't have to get close to them," he tells Ret, forcibly placing one end of the rope into Ret's hand, physically closing Ret's fingers around the rope. "Just run past that policeman, loop around, and we'll clothesline it."

Ret hesitates, staring in disbelief.

Reggie takes a second swing, just as the undead takes a step, whiffing the air where the leg was just a moment before.

"GO! Now!" Mazur states, giving Ret a shove in the right direction. Holding tight on the other end of the rope, he hauls ass towards the final zombie with Ret, 'You're an idiot, Mazur,' he thinks to himself as he rushes forward, wincing with every hard step. Mazur is forced to try and round all the way around the zombie as it switches its focus on Ret, moving with the rope instead of against it. Just outside of its swing. Ret narrowly avoids a clawed swipe.

Jack stands up, takes the rope, as Ret whimpers and runs away, heading in the same general direction as Beth and Amy.

Jack's face is a mess, he nods to Mazur. "Just hang on!" He manages to mumble. It's hard to see one side of his face all purple and black, eye swollen shut. It barely looks like him.

This time, the policeman is trying to take careful aim, at the roped zombie, with his service weapon... if he doesn't pass out first.

OOC: Poor Shep and Reggie, the dice are hating you two this fight. Luckily, it looks as though the shishkabob tactic is at least holding it, for now.

OOC: the dice have always loved tormenting me. 8P

IC: frustrated by his lack of progress (or even contact) with the leg, Reggie's next swing is aimed at the neck again.

Mazur continues around, attempting to circle the zombie while staying out of it's reach. If he can get back around to the rope, he'll either jump over or duck under it, whichever is easier ... taking a split second to pass the rope back through to create a knot, and then pulling the opposite way from Jack in an attempt to entangle the creature and possibly even trip it up.

Shep fights to ignore a memory trying to form in his head of fighting some dark monster. .oO Was that even me? Oo. he wonders, .oO That's not my past. Oo. He pushes the memory aside to concentrate on the battle at hand.

Shep is getting frustrated, but doesn't know what else he can do. He digs in his heels and lowers his center of gravity to try to hold the his captor steady so that Reggie can finally dispatch it's unnatural existence.
