OOC: Recap from the Bottoms Up restaurant in Dane's thread.
Vi grimly stares at her like she's her next opponent, "Then find a trainer who is patient enough to deal with you because I'm not that person." She quickly finishes her food, then carefully stands up and walks back outside; destination - the gym. On the way, she thinks to herself, oO(At least the damn gym should be somewhat empty. I need to get away from this fuckery)Oo
OOC: Vi posts will be back in her own thread.
As Vi leaves, Emily watches in disbelief, like she'd never been told no. Steve grins at Em, "Lighten up, I can teach you a little bit."
"But I wanna learn from the best!"
"Hey, I've never boxed her, so you don't know!" Steve laughs.
"Dude! You lost to Angelo just last month! And he doesn't know how to fight!" Sam laughs.
"He hit me in the back of the head with a skateboard like a pansy ass B!744! Then ran!" Steve retorts.
Lysanthra looks from Marshall to Emily recognizing the familiar dynamic. Marshall always thinks he's better than them maybe because they are girls. She's not sure why but Liz doesn't look for respect from him. She doesn't care what he thinks because she knows her own worth. Emily on the other hand tries hard to be liked and easily gets her feelings hurt. Lysanthra finds Emily annoying as well but doesn't purposely try to put her down. She glares at Marshall and tries to get Emily's attention. When Emily looks at her Liz says "Just ignore him. He's not worth it anyway." Then looks at Marshall again with a smirk.
Marshal frowns and runs out of the restaurant, chasing after Vi.
Miss Hoffman downs her drink and sighs, "Dane, let's go try this obstacle course thing."
Ingrid frowns and glances at Lysanthra, handing her something small, "This is a key to my place. I have something to take care of." She then also leaves.
"Did I fart or something?" Steve scoffs, watching everyone leave.
Brad notices Maya continually, yet occasionally, glance at him. He's pretty sure that she probably likes him.
Dane finishes the last watered-down bit of his drink and rises to follow Meg. As they walk, his mind shifts gears, replaying what he’d seen earlier—the successes and the failures. He notes where competitors rushed, where momentum helped and where it betrayed them, where hesitation cost more than speed. What worked and what didn't.
He flexes his fingers once, testing his grip strength, then glances toward Meg with an awkward but mischievous grin. “If I break something,” he says lightly, “you get to explain it to my dad.”
The tension from the chess match hasn’t fully faded. It sits in the back of his mind like an unresolved variable. So he focuses instead on the angles, timing, leverage—things that make sense.

Nearby: a packed dining area of random festival goers and waiters/waitresses. Frank and Johnny are also nearby. Megana is helping her mother serve drinks.
As Ingrid, Vi, Marshal, Dane and Miss Hoffman leave the restaurant. Sam stands up, "With that, I'm gonna see if Megana needs any help. I'll catch up later, guys," and heads into the bar.
"I didn't think anyone would smell that one," Steve laughs as Maya elbows him and glances from Brad to Liz.
"Yeah!" Emily agrees with Liz, "Can I hang out with you, Liz?" she quickly glances to Steve and Maya, "Unless you guys don't mind me staying."
Steve shrugs and glances at Maya, "What do you think?" and produces a mischievous smile, "I hear that there's a poker tournament later. We could use her to spy on peoples' hands."
"Steve!" Maya exclaims, "That's cheating!"
"Yep, only if we get caught," he winks.
"No! That's awful!" Maya stands up, furious, "That's it!" She walks over and grabs Brad's hand, "Come with me."
"I'll do it!" Emily glances at Liz, "Or are you gonna tell on me?"

Lysanthra squeezes Ingrid's key in her hand. Suddenly, it's way too loud here for her liking. She decides to head out back to Ingrid's house. She's tired and needs time alone to think. She plans to take a shower and find a snack.
As she walks away, Emily scoffs, "Oh, I see how you are! Snitch!"
Steve laughs, "Holy shit! Did you just call her a bitch?"
"No! What kind of person do you think I am?"
"I don't know, I swear you just did." Steve chuckles.
Maya still has Brad's hand as both notice that the crowd is surging west up the main street. Something about a fight about to happen.

Brad is feeling a little overwhelmed, usually he doesn't get much attention from the ladies, but today several have wanted to spend time with him. Though he's still unsure if Kendal was actually interested in him or just trying to get a reaction out of Teddy.
"I don't think spying on other people's cards would work too well before the judges throw her and whoever she's helping out of the tournament," comments Brad just before Maya grabs his hand. He follows her outside with a wave to the others.

OOC: Brad has achieved level 1
Brad is feeling a little overwhelmed, usually he doesn't get much attention from the ladies, but today several have wanted to spend time with him. Though he's still unsure if Kendal was actually interested in him or just trying to get a reaction out of Teddy.
"I don't think spying on other people's cards would work too well before the judges throw her and whoever she's helping out of the tournament," comments Brad just before Maya grabs his hand. He follows her outside with a wave to the others.
Steve, now stuck alone with Emily, grimaces and shouts, "Wait! Care if I come along?"
Maya looks about to allow him when Emily also stands up, "Yeah! Me too?" With a giant smile.
"Umm, I wanted to talk to Brad alone about... medical stuff. I hope you understand." Maya maintains a straight face.
With that, she leads Brad out into the chaotic mob. Most have surrounded the school as Brad catches wind that Teddy and Vi have decided to fight. Odd that they decided to host it in the school gym. Further up the street, Brad spots Dane and Miss Hoffman standing on the library steps watching the old hermit, Dusty, from the obstacle competitions, being escorted to the jailhouse.
Seconds later, Brad spots Kendal sitting on one of the few benches, crying into her hands. Maya notices and simply ignores her and turns to Brad, "Show me around. The others seem more interested in talking, than doing. Or are too distracting. I need some good pictures and an adventure to write about." Her dark almond eyes and youthful face are unique. It's a wonder if anyone ever accuses her of being an alien or mutant, but she's too pretty to insult. "Talk about the history. What's fun? Tell me about the people." She points towards Kendal, "Even her. She seems to have a history. And everyone seems to look up to you." She smiles, "And I'll give you a bag of candy!" Brad isn't sure if she's flirting or being genuine as she holds up a bag of hard maroon candies.

Brad wonders if he should go and try to stop the fight before Vi hurts her ankle worse, but with the attention it's already drawn, Doc Lewis will probably show up. And Vi's already ignoring his warning not to try fighting on that foot, he thinks with a grimace.
Brad glances at Kendal. He could go over to her but while he's good at fixing physical hurts, emotional ones are much harder. Might be best to let her work things out on her own.
Maya wants to know about the town's history? Well, he can at least do that. He'll escort Maya around town giving her what information he can recall about the various building, Lord Stein, and other notable people around town.
He also tries to keep an eye on the time, not wanting to miss out on the poker tournament, even if he doesn't expect to last long.
OOC: Level 1? Neat, but how does that affect Brad? Do I choose an OCC? Skills?

"Oh that doesn't look very good," Maya comments as she snaps a photo of the old man, who seems just as interested in the school as Lord Stein, if not upset. Brad momentarily spots Dane and Miss Hoffman run into the library, which is the opposite direction of the fight.
He checks his watch, not wanting to miss out on the poker tournament, even if he doesn't expect to last long. Maya notices, "Are you expecting something?" She asks as some of the competitors for the MMA matchups also rush to the school.
OOC: Level 1? Neat, but how does that affect Brad? Do I choose an OCC? Skills?
OOC2: Yes, Brad is level 1, as is Reggie. You may select an OCC for Brad within some limits, but we can make most of them work via a time lapse. Most of the other players agreed to update the characters with occs after the festival as to not suddenly have characters suddenly possessing the skills of professional assassins, mercenaries, juicers, lawmen, etc, without proper explanation. If you should amass enough exp for level 2 or higher, then we just bump the character to that level. We already have one or two characters who will level after creating their level 1 OCCs.

"That's Dusty Sky, he's a hermit that lives outside of town. I don't know him well, but I guess he must be pretty tough to survive out there for all these years. Dunno who's blood that is, but he's not in cuffs, so it's probably more a case of him finishing a fight rather than him starting one."
He checks his watch, not wanting to miss out on the poker tournament, even if he doesn't expect to last long. Maya notices, "Are you expecting something?" She asks as some of the competitors for the MMA matchups also rush to the school.
"I signed up for the Poker tournament later on, just checking the time. Granted, I probably won't last too long, as I'm a rookie at the game, but it should be fun." He looks over to the school with a frown, "I hope someone is able to break up the fight before anyone gets seriously hurt. Both Vi and Teddy are pretty stubborn and aggressive at times."
With a sigh he turns away from the school and looks around for something else Maya might like to hear about.

waiting 'til after the festival to level up makes sense.
I assume only OCCs from the Main Book? (I assume magic classes are out. 8P )

OOC: Most books are okay but within reason. I dont expect someone who tames Kreeghor bloodhounds in the New West areas. Magical classes may be limited but Chaos magic is acceptable.

Maya's face switches from curiosity to concern, "Umm... what?"

Brad hears the shouts and pauses for a moment in confusion and disbelief. "... what?"
Turning towards the school he mutters "Vi? A D-Bee? What are they talking about, that makes no sense."
Beyond the confusion, Brad is concerned. There's what looks to be an angry mob forming, one that is targeting Vi and Teddy, but what can he do? He can't fight that many people, nor are they likely to listen to him if he tries to talk them down. Hopefully the Sheriff and his deputies can break things up quickly.
