Lysanthra walks along with Ingrid. She understands being used and knows firsthand a true friend is hard to find. "It's okay," she reassures Ingrid. "I've been through a lot too and life is complicated." Liz wanders with her towards her place. She now feels better about going with Ingrid and they fall into an easy silence while walking. Lysanthra decides that she can in fact trust her and hopefully they can learn more about each other. After all Liz needs a friend and it seems Ingrid does too.

Just as she said, Ingrid leads Lysanthra to a modestly large house, located directly across the street from the town stockyards. Upon reaching the front door, she unlocks it and steps to the side so that Liz can see. It looks like a place straight out of a home decor magazine. Everything is spotless and in its proper place. It smells of lilac and citrus.

There's a large living room to her right, complete with a coffee table, love seat, couch and a television large enough to cover the entire wall. Surround sound speakers dot every corner near the ceiling. An entertainment stand sits under the television with flowers decorating its ends. A large basket of candy rests on the coffee table. A large picture window dazzles with stained glass decorations along its edges.

To her left is a small hallway to a closed door and what looks like a bathroom. In between are stairs leading up to the second floor and down to the basement. Behind the living room is a gigantic kitchen and dining room complete with a prep island and pantry. Beyond the kitchen is a backyard patio, complete with reclining chairs and a glass table.

"I have a spare room upstairs. You're welcome to stay as long as you want. There's food in the fridge unless you want me to cook something. I have wine and a few beers unless you want some sodas or fruit juice. I do need to head back to the festival in about five hours to check on my shop." She presses her fore finger to her lips, "Oh yeah! There are movies saved on the television, if you get bored. Deputy Stryker converted some of the movies to some... I dunno what they call it, but he made it so that I can just watch them."

She glamorously spins around, holding her arms out, palms up and asks, "What do you think?"

"Wow this place is great," says Liz in amazement. This is the kind of place she expected to see when considering Ingrid's appearance. It feels cozy however, not too fancy to sit on furniture though. This will do she thinks to herself. She's not sure how long she'll stay with Ingrid but she thanks her. Lysanthra will see how well this works out. For now she feels safe and welcome and that means a lot to her at the moment.

Ingrid smiles and says, "T.V. on." as the televisions flashes on and begins pulling up a menu, listing the local Smith Falls channel that Lysanthra is used to watching at her foster home. It also displays a movies directory and television series directory. A music player is also available as well as a few games.

Ingrid heads into the bathroom and begins touching up her makeup and spritzing some sort of perfume on. She loudly calls out, "Oh Liz, there is a Hold'em tournament later on. Are you interested in playing? I can pay for the buy in if you promise to split winnings with me... well, if you win. Have you ever played?"

Lysanthra knows she's not good at poker. She would much rather relax with some television or music than waste her time looking like a fool. "I'm not very good at it so if it's okay with you I'll stay here and relax a bit," she says with a friendly tone. She asks when Ingrid will be back. Liz tells her she'll probably be either sleeping or watching TV when she returns. She sits on the couch in front of the huge screen and gets comfortable.

"Oh I dunno. The festival ends sometime between midnight and dawn. I highly doubt I'll be out that long." Seems thoughtful.

Liz tells her she'll probably be either sleeping or watching TV when she returns. She sits on the couch in front of the huge screen and gets comfortable. Ingrid seems okay with it.

Ingrid shows Liz how to run the television and adds her voice as a secondary user. She then brings her some tomato soup. She then brings a small potted plant in, which Lysanthra's able to identify immediately; fresh basil. "It's best if cooked into the food, but I forgot. So I found that using basil and sage, rubbing them together and then sifting them through the soup works as well." Liz has also heard of people doing that, but it seems like such a waste.

Last but not least, Ingrid brings in a large towel for a shower. Liz hasn't had a chance to ever shower for as long as she wants without someone walking in on her, especially Emily. After that, she can hear Ingrid in the kitchen, working on another masterpiece.

Lysanthra decides to watch a movie that sounds interesting while Ingrid does her own thing. After Ingrid leaves she will take a long hot shower. She just feels awkward doing it with her around. After eating the soup Liz uses the bathroom and watches her movie. Ingrid talked to her a bit off and on. She was beginning to fall asleep on the couch when Ingrid left but she got up and took her shower. Liz thought to herself, "I could actually get used to this." She returned to the couch and laid down instead of going to the spare bedroom. That way she would know when Ingrid got back. She could check out the bed later. Lysanthra got used to her surroundings fairly quickly. She was sleeping in no time, usually a light sleeper, but this time she slumbered deep and even began dreaming again.

Liz is awoken by a sudden jolt. The smell of burning metal and loud booms in the distance. Ingrid is nowhere around. Through the picture window, Liz notices the orange flicker of fire and carnage contrast the night horizon and buildings near the festival. There is a frantic knocking at the front door.

Lysanthra has been rudely awakened and someone is at the door. She doesn't know what is going on but her heart is racing. She wonders if Ingrid is alright. Racing thoughts are swirling in her head. She approaches the door with trepidation. Liz reaches for the doorknob as her hand is shaking and quickly swings the door open.

Outside, one of the town's sheriff's deputies stands there. He has dark hair and almond shaped eyes as he quickly tries to explain what's going on, "Ma'am. You and Mrs. Lewis need to evacua..." He drops to his knees and begins choking. He coughs up blood as Liz notices an arrow protruding from his back.

She witnesses the entire main street of town is either on fire or the source of shouting, screaming and gunfire. People are running from other houses and either running for horses or straight out of town. Across the street, several individuals look as though they're trying to round up pigs and cattle, only for an explosion to send men and livestock flipping through the air.

Ingrid is nowhere in sight. The heat from the fires, which is a block away, warms her face and eyes. She swears that she sees Emily running with a young woman toward the west side of town.

Lysanthra doesn't know what to do and she's confused. What on Earth is happening? It looks like chaos and the world was so simple a little while ago. She doesn't want to panic. She has to stay calm but what does she do now? It's not safe to stay here but where is she supposed to go? Liz's mind is spinning around. Maybe she should try to find someone to help her but with everyone running around she's probably better off by herself. Still she thinks about looking for Ingrid first. Instead she quickly heads in the direction she saw Emily running. If she can figure out what is happening she can decide what to do next.
