“Nice throw,” he says, a hint of admiration in his voice. “You got anything we can use for chips?”

He glances at the others, then adds, “Hey, how about we push some tables together and play a few rounds? We can run through the rules as we go, if anyone needs a refresher.”

Taking the cards out of the pack, he starts shuffling. His technique is clumsy compared to a real card player, but he gets the job done without making a fool of himself—and for Dane, that’s enough of a win. (OOC: Feel free to modify the description of his shuffling if you want to roll for his physical prowess at shuffling cards.)

Hearing Danes idea , Vi stands up and starts to move her table over to his ," that sounds like an idea , at least we all can get the basics down . "

Vi looks at everyone and sees the excitement starting to ramp up, "Hey, I'll join the poker tournament. But I'm lacking a few things." She laughs at her own stupidity, "But I do have a question. Is Teddy going to join the game or is he banned before he loses his shirt?"

Johnny steps back into the door and runs back to his spot.

"Chips, coming right up!" Angie says as she dumps some thinly sliced potatoes into the fryer. The white noise of the fryer sparking to life permeates the saloon. She then produces a bag of popcorn seeds. She pours some into a large beer mug and hands them to the sheriff to bring over.

The sheriff answers, "That's the spirit!" He takes a noisy gulp of beer. "No, Teddy doesn't even like poker. He likes to solve most problems with action. He doesn't find games, that require thought, very fun." He sets his beer down and walks over to help the kids re-arrange the tables.

After the sheriff finishes helping get the edges of the table flush together. He sets down the mug of popcorn seeds and then he goes back and sits, drinking his beer again. He eagerly waits to watch the kids play.

Miss Hoffman smiles, "Does anyone not really know the rules?"

OOC: Lets assume every character knows how to play, if they do in real life. Does anyone actually not know how to play Texas Holdem?

OOC2: Player placement, in order from the door going clockwise: Vi, empty chair, Johnny, Brad, empty chair, Miss Hoffman, empty chair, empty chair, Dane, empty chair. If I remember right, Meg and Frank are still standing.

OOC: I don't remember how big/little blinds work, but I remember the basics.

OOC: Big and Little Blinds: Usually the player in the first and second seat are little and big blinds. Big blind being first, having to pay the full declared Ante. The little blind pays half the ante. The first player after the blinds is who the dealer would deal to first. This allows players who aren't the blind to simply fold without paying any chips (usually done with shit hands, like 2 and 7 unsuited). This also ensures that there is money in the pot to begin with.

He takes a steady breath and deals two cards, one by one, around the table. He’s careful and deliberate, making sure every player gets what they’re supposed to and none of the cards go flying off the table.

“Okay,” he says, looking to the next in turn, “Brad, bet's to you. Minimum bet to call is two seeds.”

When its vi's turn , she will slide in 2 seeds . while trying to keep something of a straight face .

Frank gets up looks at where everyone has sat and chooses to sit next to Dane, "Yea, sounds like some fun and a good way to pass some time." He says as settling in his chair. oO(this should be interesting)Oo
