"Like you, I don't like to see Horde forces this close to town," he replies, not showing any outward sign that her lack of fear is noticed. "Unfortunately, you are too late in asking. I have agreed to escort two men before dawn tomorrow. Our paths go different directions, I fear. At best, my party and yours could combine for a bit, if the men I'm escorting were to agree."

"Would you be willing to ask if they might be willing to detour for just a day," Belle asks. "If we can get it settled, I might be willing to accompany you on your way as well. Not like anything holds me here."

"You may ask them yourself." The being responds. "Meet here an hour before dawn in the morning and be ready to travel."
A noise inside the nearby doorway of the tavern draws his attention. "I had better get back inside. Was there anything else you wished to ask me?"

Belle shrugs, "Not that I can think of. I think I can wait until morning. I am curious, what should I call you?"
She will ask Jonesy, "Think we can wait until morning?"

Belle shrugs, "Not that I can think of. I think I can wait until morning. I am curious, what should I call you?"
Bowing slightly in what should have been a polite gesture but which in actuality made him seem to loom and causing Jonesy to take an involuntary step backward he replies "My name is Dannock, but you may call me Dan." With that he turns and, ducking low, enters the tavern once more.
She asks Jonesy, "Think we can wait until morning?"
"Of course. Since I never though to see any of our belongings again, any help, at whatever time, is welcome." the man replies.

Pushing a stray hair away from her face, Bell takes a deep breath, "Long day. Lost a companion just a few days ago. Might be nice to get a few hours of rest. "Got any suggestions where to stay for the night?"
She looks around a bit closer at the inn
ooc: One item that is weird is that as far as I understand, Wormwood really does not have money.

"Got any suggestions where to stay for the night?" Belle asks as she looks around a bit closer at the inn. She says that it's likely just a tavern than a complete inn. It does have a single upper story and possibly their are spare rooms up there, but it's difficult to tell if they're in use or not since no light is coming from any of them.
"Normally there are a couple of common rooms that visitors can use and a few empty homes, but with the influx of refugees from Newhome those are all full." Jonesy replies. "Since you'r helping my wife and I, I'm sure Elijah and Cary would let you sleep at their place."
OOC: Yes, no money, although bartering is in full swing for more rare items such as weapons and off-world things. I play that common things such as food and normal drink are freely given if you're lucky enough to be in an established town with a good source from a food cave. Sometimes that includes other items such as meat if there is a church run animal ranch nearby. Rooms are typically free, if there are any available, since Wormwood will grow new buildings automatically as the population grows. Some proprietors may ask for something in exchange if their rooms have been furnished with nicer amenities than normal. Tipping or offers of help, although not generally expected, can help ingratiate your character with people such as the man running the tavern. This good will gesture may help produce results down the road when his services, advice or rumor discussions are asked for.
Unfortunately, most Wormwood OCC's don't include any sort of tradeable items by default. In hindsight, I should have granted something like that when people were rolling up characters, but since I didn't and we're quite a ways into the storyline I don't want to add them now. So, to deal with that, you're stuck with using the few items you do have or offering your services in other ways. For example, in exchange for acting as a bouncer at the tavern, Dan has a private room with a comfortable bed and as much food as he wants to eat, including the private stock that is not normally available to the customers. More importantly, he now has a friend that he can call on if he were to ever need anything.

Belle things for a moment, shaking her head not in a 'no' but a 'not sure.' After a moment, her grey eyes curious, "Are you sure that it would be alright? Most people don't trust me because of what I was. I don't really blame people though. I doubt that I would trust myself." There is a teasing smile at the final comment, kind of laughing at herself.
At the same time, Belle will motion for them to go to lead on. At the same, she will calculate how long it is until dawn. She does not want to let them go before she gets a chance. Of course it is always possible that they will not be interested in helping her or for her to travel with them.

"I guess we'll just have to ask." Jonesy responds with an answering smile of his own. "They have every right to refuse, but since you're offering to help me, I'm sure they won't. They were friends to my parents and watched after my sister and I when our parents were killed years ago."
Remembering back a few hours Belle estimates that there's about nine hours until full dawn.
They walk in silence for a time before Jonesy's voice breaks the quiet. "Ma'am, just so you know, I like you. I don't care about your past. It's what you do in the moment that matters to me. Father Malaki back in Newhome taught that." Jonesy continues walking with his eyes straight ahead.

Quietly appreciative, Belle states "It would not be the first time that I ended up sleeping in a corner," The blond haired Apok does mean to sound bitter because she really is not.
"I had a younger sister," Belle continues, this making her feel a little sad. "You might say that her death is what made me realize that my path was just wrong."
"is your sister doing well?" Belle asks, continuing to slow her pace to follow along with him. Her voice is honestly curious.
