OOC: Hold up. You haven't even left the tavern yet to go attempt to find the good Father. Besides, I think we need to pause to let Gerard weigh in.

OCC- Sorry all working a lot and also a bit under the weather.

"Sure I'll come along with you all. We might also see some others we know or have seen before that we can chat with once we are finished talking to the Father." Gerard looks at everyone ready to head out once they all get up and on their way.

[giggles]

Anastasia smiles at Gerard "Good to see you join us, Gerard..we definitely can use as much help as possible to find out answers and help the people that have been hurt by all this demon activity. If were all ready to leave the tavern, then lets head to the Father and start our mission."
Anastasia is anxious and makes the first move in the direction of the Father. "I hope this will prove to be enlightning..we need answers ...we need to help the people and find these demons or demon who did this" Anastasia says to herself.

Daniel listens to Anastasia as he grabs his bag off of the floor with the sounds of chains rattling against each other. He tells everyone , " Sense we all are headin to the same place , lets get going , we are loosing daylight . last thing we need is another raid and be caught with our pants down . " He looks at the group and smiles as he heads out the door and heads to the church .

As the small group of adventurers stand up to leave the tavern, Jordan offers the the owner a small gem in exchange for the meal they ate. "No, no." the man exclaims in response. "Our town is founded on the idea that we all work and therefore we all enjoy the rewards. Everybody contributes in their own way. I cook...and apparently you go save us from the demons or something. Good luck with that, by the way." The man says with a wry smile.

Pocketing the gem Jordan thanks the man again for his hospitality before leaving with the other three out the front door. Seeing The Redeemer and Darl standing down the street talking to more soldiers, he chooses to go the opposite direction to avoid another confrontation between Daniel and Darl.

In the waning light of the day, the lingering scent of smoke and ozone mix for a pungent smell. "Could use a bit of a breeze." Jordan mutters as he leads the group up through the subdued tones of grey, blue and tan Wormwood grown buildings on either side of them. Very few people are out except the occasional patrol of militia or church soldiers. The only others appear to be in a rush to retreat to the safety and comfort of their homes after a hard, trying day.

Arriving at the church, Jordan leads them to the side entrance that they entered and exited earlier. Two men stand guard at either side of the door and Jordan inquires about whether they can go in and meet with Father Malaki. One of the soldiers briefly enters the building and returns moments later to lead the group inside.

They find Father Malaki rummaging around his little office in an apparent futile attempt to cram everything in here from his storage rooms that were burnt out upstairs. The strong resin boxes are stacked precariously around the room; threatening to topple and bury them all.

"Ahh... back so soon. And I see you've brought friends...good, good." The good Father looks tired and very much soot stained, but that doesn't seem to have stopped his positive outlook.

Jordan introduces Gerard and Daniel to Father Malaki and explains that the group has some questions about the days events and hopes that the answers might help the group in tracking down who stole the Orb.

Daniel listens as Jordan talks to the Father . Daniel says in a calm but unnatural tone , " Father what is this orb we all gotta track down and why is important ? " Daniel remains in the doorway with his bag slung over his shoulder .

"Ah...well, you might say it's a project I've devoted my life to." Father Malaki begins. "The orb, or Orb of Iodin, is...well...the salvation of all that is good on this planet. I came across buried deep in the ground a number of years ago inside demon territory. I've been consumed ever since studying it and trying to find out what it does and how it works. The only real progress I've made in my research is references to a great weapon...actually, weapon is not quite the correct translation...I suppose a better translation is 'the great equalizer'. I can only assume that it's a weapon of some sorts, but I haven't figured out how to use it or exactly what it does. From the prophecy that our young lady hear brought back with her, it's obvious that I'm on the right track. We will need it in the days to come if we are to defeat The Unholy and his minions. If they possess it we are doomed and if it's lost then we are probably doomed as well." The father pauses for that to settle in before continuing.

"It was stolen last night.... I've asked Jordan and Anastasia and their friend The Redeemer to retrieve and bring it back here. I can only assume that since you and Gerard are with them that you have undertaken this quest as well?" A look of hope shines on his face as he waits to hear that his assumption is correct.

[Manson-Mage]

Daniel smiles and says, "You assume that myself and this other stranger Gerard, would be willing to undertake this quest?" Daniel moves closer and allowing his bag to drop to the floor and once again the sound of metal chains is is heard. "Well then Father, I'll join up in this little game of hide and seek to find this orb. I might even find the demon I been tracking in the process."

"Well, I just assumed..." the Father is visibly confused and looks from one person to another. "...I mean, Jordan, here, has introduced you...that is...he said you'd come to ask questions about the orb. I just assumed that you all had been recruited to help, and...." He stops mid sentence and jumps as Daniel's bag noisily hits the floor.

"Be at ease," Jordan soothingly interrupts the good Father before he has a complete meltdown. "I may have been a little premature in my assumption that Daniel has volunteered to help. I have a feeling that our paths have crossed for a reason, though, and that our two quests are somehow related."

"I see, I see...well...glad to hear it. That is, I'm glad to hear that you might already be making some progress." Father Malaki looks around the room hopefully. "So, what is it that I can do for you?"

Daniel looks around the room and notices all the boxes and papers , "So Father what does it look like?"
After Daniel askes th questions and finishes examining the room, he looks at the Father eye to eye.

"Father, what happened with the church there? I noticed its partly burned. Anyone inside that section when it caught fire? and whats all this you have kinda piled up around this room?"
