As they walk, Lori will try to identify the Faerie breeds shadowing them (Lore: Faeries & Creatures of Magic 73%), partly out of curiousity and to pass the time, and partly because some breeds are more malicious than others.

as the party approaches the campsite, Lori raises an eyebrow. before glancing towards the others. "It seems we are somewhat expected. Admittedly if the locals are friends with the local faeries, they could have easily sent a message ahead of us. But in that case there should be someone around to talk."

She pauses, and If no one seems inclined to disagree, Lori will call out "Hello the camp."

Tyran (Jthorson)
Lori (norgarth)
Cassandra (Kitsune)
Bill & Dirk (NPC)
Camp Stranger

The journey towards the tree takes longer than expected. The twilight sky arrives after what seems like several miles of walking. The tree still is just on the horizon. Dirk finishes aerial reconnaissance, swoops down and perches on Tyran's shoulder to rest, nearly squashing Bill. Tyran can sense his disdain for the bird of prey. Then Bill goes back to sleep. His feet ache from walking; each step sending a brief throb up his ankles, into his lower leg muscles.

Meanwhile, Lori finds the walk rather relaxing. It somewhat reminds her of stories her parents had told her of the Old Kingdom, from their homeland. The air seems cold and damp, with the fresh smell of evaporating rainfall. Faeries occasionally chatter from their mounds, however, they never come near.

Cassandra finds the walk exhileratingly peaceful. The closer they get to the tree, the more playful and high spirited she seems to feel.

What seems like a few hours, late at night, the trio crests a hill, overlooking a valley with a giant tree in the middle. The tree seems to raise into the heavens. It's magnificence seems breath-taking. Even Bill awakens, admiring it's glorious beauty, peaceful aura and mysterious history.

The branches of the tree loom overhead like a protective hand over it's children. Just up a head, a lone globe of daylight seems to dance in the middle of a makeshift campsite.

The campsite looks fresh with four logs creating a square sitting arrangement around stones piled to create a campfire. Yet, it seems no campfire has ever been created; not even wood lying in the middle. The grass seems to stop on the outer edge of the logs, with only loose dry dirt between the logs and the fire pit.

A group of blue glowing faeries seem to follow the travelers, keeping a wary vigil over them. Dirk awakens from a brief, restless nap. Tyran can sense that his hawk is uneasy about the faerie folk.

As they walk, Lori tries to see if she can recognize what race of faerie, but they seem pretty new. She can't place them. Upon seeing the campsite, Lori raises an eyebrow, "It seems we are somewhat expected. Admittedly if the locals are friends with the local faeries, they could have easily sent a message ahead of us. But in that case there should be someone around to talk." She pauses, and If no one seems inclined to disagree, Lori will call out "Hello the camp."

Eventually, Lori notices a high amount of magical energy dance above one of the logs, in the shape of a person. (obviously invisible). It seems the person also notices and removes the magical invisibility, revealing a young brown haired male, wearing a button up, puke green, polo shirt, brown hiking shoes and torn and dirty, tan, khaki pants. "uhh. hello." He replies in English. "Friend or someone in need of something?" The person has no other visible belongings besides the clothes on his back. Once visible, he radiates a significant, but not overpowering amount of magical energy and has a confident posture.

ooc: Sorry, I have just been really busy, having been working 80 hours weeks for the last few weeks.

ic: Whomever this being is, he does not appear to be an immediate danger because the temporal warrior should would feel it otherwise.

"Hello, we are hoping for a boon of some safety."
Cassandra states. "There have recently been slavers in this area and do not wish to end up in their clutches. We have been heading for the Tree in hopes of asking for a boon."

She pauses, then shakes her head a bit. "Where are my manners, we haven't introduced ourselves. I am Lorianna, and this is Cassandra and Tyran." She gestures to them respectively. "What should we call you?"

Tyran nods a greeting as Lori introduce him, otherwise staying silent and letting the women lead the conversation ... Anticipating that if Bill were to sense anything out of the ordinary, the Zembahk would let him know.

Tyran nods a greeting as Lori introduce him, otherwise staying silent and letting the women lead the conversation ... Anticipating that if Bill were to sense anything out of the ordinary, the Zembahk would let him know.

Bill carefully examines the young man. He's not human, possesses a high amount of magical energy and psionic abilities. He's supernatural in nature and almost seems lonely.

The young man allows a slight pause after Lori asks his name. "My name is Dellian," he replies in American, "But my friends called me Dilly." He stares into the firepit, then looks up to Cassandra, "You're safe here, no slaver will survive an encounter with us." He casually states. He places his hands on his knees then pushes himself up, and stands defiant to the tree. "Ive been waiting here for about two weeks. Still nothing." His eyes consider the tree, as if expecting something to happen.

He points towards the north, "Grimsby, but you'll hit the ocean unless you go around the small inland sea." He sighs, "It's small, but run by a group of druids who come here from time to time. They say that if you're deserving, the tree will grant a gift. I guess I'm not that deserving." He shrugs, then notices Lori's beauty, and says in Elven, "The druids and the knights clash on occasion. Otherwise, they keep to themselves if they don't meddle in each other's affairs."

He then considers the youngest member of the group, carefully looking at Tyran, "You've seen much, haven't you? How did you three come to be here?"

"With some safety, we can figure out where to go from here and whether we wish to travel together or go our own ways," the red headed woman states. "Waiting for events to transpire while not worried about your life is generally much better than shear terror."

Cassassanda will turn her attention to the blind warrior woman to see how she is reacting to all of this.

OOC: I believe the Blind Warrior Woman, (aka Amerian) stayed back with the others attempting to fix the boat.

IC:
"Thank you for the information Dilly, if we may call you such," she smiles at him, "Unfortunately I'm afraid I've never heard of Grimsby, so I find myself still lost. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, as I have never heard of a tree such as that one outside of children's tales. Is there a name for this land in general? Previously I was in North America."

A curious look crosses her face as she asks, "What kind of gifts is the tree supposed to provide?"

"Aye, I suppose I have," Tyran responds. Casting "sense aura", he takes a moment to study the character more carefully.

Once Lorie answers, he adds ... "As to your second question," he continues, "I'm afraid we can't really say for certain. It seems that someone ... or rather something ... had plans for us. Roughly a dozen of us, plucked from our individual lives without warning, trapped in some sort of unstable dream dimension ... and the return home landing us here." Looking around, and back up at the tree, he continues, "Wherever here is. Earth ... but not North America ..." Drawing on whatever knowledge he possesses regarding the trees, the Splugorth (and their raiding grounds), Fairie Lore, and Land Navigation, he makes an educated guess. "Somewhere in western Europe, I presume?"

Dirk stretches his wings and takes off to the sky, as they converse.

OOC: See Aura Results: Supernatural, high PPE base, possesses psychic abilities, mid level experience, no possessing entity present.

"Well, I don't know. I was told something rare, useful; maybe even magical. That'd be nice. But I guess I'm not 'worthy.'" Dilly seems a bit sour about his time spent there. Then shrugs, "I'm from North America, but you're far from home. This is Britain. Yes, part of western Europe. You know your geography. I came here to get away from the drama." He looks at Tyran, "You guys could probably use the break too. It's nice here, don't you think? Not as much senseless killing." He seems to look for any reaction.
