Anastasia looking around also at the tracks sensing what she feels about what Gerard just asked. "I think we should remain on the main trail at this point..I just don't think at this point we should venture off course and then find out it was misleading and perhaps leading us into some kind of danger. As I see it, if we move a little further up i do believe there's a spot we can hold out for the night. but I think Daniel here can make sure that its safe while we keep this little goblin bound up til he gets back. So Daniel I'm assuming that you will be okay with this and can obviously make this quick so that we can settle in?"
Waiting for an answer from both parties, she looks around still and then goes over to Zeke and pats him, and makes sure hes alright as well.

"Sure thing." Daniel says before spreading his large bat-like wings and flitting off towards the sun. Gaining a bit of altitude he quickly disappears from site as the surrounding pillars block the view.

Looking at the tracks, Anastasia notices something that escaped Gerard's initial inspection. The same ominous boot prints from the shade take off through the pillars, down the same trail that Daniel just went to inspect. She sees no evidence of the prints coming back out, however.

Long minutes later the sound of his flapping wings can be heard as he returns from his scouting mission.

"Looks like just another camp site. Nothing there now, but funny thing is, I found this blanket..." He holds up a blanket from a bed roll "...draped over top of one of the larger pillars about a mile from here." The blanket looks to be in good shape.

Anastasia in a little bit of a quandery (sorry don't know the spelling but leavin) about the boot prints not coming back and kinda scratchin her head as Daniel comes back with this nice blanket. She notices Daniels expression and without him even asking her, "And you didn't see anyone around? Any ideas on what to make of this? And also look here...Gerard noticed these tracks heading out" as she hears the noise Daniel makes when hes thinking, "Now look here ..do you see any coming back??? We may need to rethink this or just proceed ..i just think this is just a little weird and not so sure which direction to go now , so we need to decide to we can get a move on before it gets too late andd we can set up camp and decide who's going to be on the first watch."

"We should first see to finding a place for the night I think and we can then discuss matters. It's getting darker and the longer we wait the harder it may be to find a suitable campsite. I know you said there is a place up the trail but it looks like it's being used or was used a bit ago. I don't think I like the idea of camping there unless it's a last resort for us. We should also stick together for the most part from now on as we dont know where the party that went up the side trail might be along with who knows what else." Gerard heads over to Zeke and pulls out his rifle and begins to scan the area not liking the situation right now. "Watch out for any kind of trap or ambush as well never a bad idea to be prepaired as it might save a life."

OOC: My post said "late afternoon" which means probably six hours of light left. Might want to delay the stopping for the night a bit longer.

"Well we have a little bit more time. I think if Daniel scouts out a little bit more, both areas to make sure everything's good and which area is best to stay, then we will go there. Other than that, I think making sure we have the protection we need and every protection we can think of with us and gather what we need for food around here. So Daniel you think you are up to it?"

Daniel looks at Anastasia with a queer expression before responding. "Sure, I'll flit around a bit and scout out the terrain."

"Be careful." Jordan adds "Sounds like there are multiple creatures around that we'd rather not have to confront. Try not to be seen."

"No problem, man." Daniel hands off his trophy blanket to Anastasia. "Here, you want to carry this? Shame to leave such a nice blanket behind. Maybe we can trade it for supplies or somethin'."

Jordan watches Daniel disappear and then turns to Gerard and Anastasia "I say let's cover as much ground as we can before dark. The closer we get to the city the safer we're likely to be."

"I agree but lets try to move somewhat quietly as we don't know if anyone or anything is around." Gerard will watch for concealed and/or ambush situations as they travel.

Anastasia takes the blanket from Daniel, "Sure, no problem ..it will be something tradeable for sure. I know there's no sense in saying be careful but be careful (as she chuckles)"
As Anastasia tries to scout around herself for any danger it seems to be safe but something is holding her back and telling her there is quite a few hidden creatures out there whether they be harmful at this point or not, shes not quite sure. "I agree, i'm not getting a good vibe on things out there so the more cautious we are the better, and weapons in hand. better to have one than not ."

The remainder of the day goes by without incident. The group doesn't find anything else of interest as they travel. Just more of the same signs of passing of a number of people from the town they left behind (recently named Newhome.) About an hour before dark Jordan suggests that they find a place to camp for the night. Once again, Daniel scouts around looking for a likely spot, but the best he can find within a reasonable range is a clearing just a ways off the trail. No convenient caves in the area like they had the pleasure of camping in the night before.

Tying the goblin up to a pillar, and after a few more threats on the goblin's life, Daniel looks for a place to lay out his bedding.

Jordan offers to help Anastasia with hers and checks to see how she's doing. His fatherly concern is normal and he fears for her welfare and well-being ever day. The Zoe half of her doesn't seem to have surfaced recently, which in some ways is comforting. Perhaps that means that everything is going well.
