Megana takes her time and aims, using the iron sights, calculating for wind speed. She zeroes in on the six point buck, bothering the females there. She gently squeezes as the deafening shot rings out. Everyone's ears ring as Thunder rears up and trots back towards the camp. The deer scatter and run deeper into the woods, out of sight, but not before Megana pops off another shot, realizing her shot had missed. The second shot misses a doe, shattering the bark on a nearby tree. They're gone.

"Damnit!" Dusty growls. "It's going to be a long day." He stares at the trees, nods and says, "Maybe we can build a perch up there. Stay still and hope they come back around nightfall. But until then, let's check some of their tribes traps." He looks back, "And we have to find Thunder now..."

"Help me build the perch and ill stay here and take post you and vi find and use thunder for travel..." Megana spoke as shes disappointed in herself for the failure of two shots.

Vi puts on her goggles to shelter her eyes , motions to dusty if he wants her to pull out her rifle and be ready .
she looks around at the opening to see if she can possibly spot anything moving.

"Help me build the perch and I'll stay here and take post while you and Vi find Thunder." Megana feels disappointed.

Dusty frowns, "You two work on the perch, Ill go look for Thunder. I work faster alone anyways."

Vi slides on her goggles, allowing her eyes to warm up. She points at her rifle to Dusty, wondering if she should be ready with it. He glances at it, laughs and says, "You kidding? There'd be nothing left of it to carry back..." He sighs, "I'll be back, but if you guys get that perch built and more come by, then Violet, I want you to use that power you learned and hold the buck in place with your mind. Okay? If she can't hit it before running out of bullets, then we're in dire trouble. If there's trouble, then head back to camp."

With that, Dusty strolls back, following Thunder's footsteps. Eventually, the blowing snow obscures him, leaving Vi and Megana alone, walking towards the opposite bank of the river.

Eventually, amongst the trees, they find a tree with the perfect Y shaped split and a few stout branches poking out, level to the ground. Without either having any mechanical engineering or carpentry training, they're forced to resign to sitting on the branches as still as possible. Waiting and watching...

After what feels like an hour, the shivering pair, holding their hands inside their armpits for warmth, hear the sound of approaching animals, rapidly crunching through the snow. Their toes feel stingingly numb. They keep having to shift to keep circulation in their legs and it's incredibly uncomfortable having a branch poking in your leg or buttocks.

"Once dusty get back you two should check out the traps....its my damn fault for failing those shots..."Megana spoke very quietly as she looks down sighs again for the noise of movement

Vi feeling the cold creeping in her legs ," yeah u did fuck up those shots . Let's hope i can trap then u shoot "

"Once Dusty gets back, you two should check out the traps. It's my damn fault for missing those shots," Megana whispers as she cranes around the tree to see what's approaching.

Vi nods, and whispers, "Yeah, you did fuck up those shots. Let's hope I can trap, then you shoot."

The rapidly approaching steps, crunching through the snow are incredibly close. Then they run past, stopping directly below to sniff the air as Vi and Megana look down at four hungry wolves, tracking the very same deer that they'd scared off. Megana can tell that they sense them, but haven't looked up yet. Both Vi and Megana are very very still.

"Wolves....hurry dusty..."she mutters

Vi looks at Megana, points down and with her fingers does a firing motion. Gives a look like should we ??

"Wolves... Hurry, Dusty," Meg whispers as Vi points her fingers like a gun, shrugging in the form of a question. One of the wolves ears twitches back towards the two as though it may have heard something.

Two more wolves arrive. They sniff each other and all face the direction the deer ran off. Three of them run off, but three stay, curious what they're sensing.
