Megana keeps going in her pace hoping her and sam will get abit of boost of speed to pass frank and johnny. But keeps a good grip and sync with sam

Megana keeps in sync with Sam, still hearing him whisper, "Step step step!" as they pass the sheriff and deputy Tokahashi finally back on their feet,. The duo crosses the finish line, taking second place and joining Frank and Johnny near the victory line.

Dane tries to keep his pace, when he notices that Coach Driver and Mr. Fowler are about to pass. He tries to pick the pace up slightly, but Miss Hoffman has the same idea as she increases speed. Dane quickly realizes that she's a faster runner, causing Dane to trip and fall. Coach Driver and Mr. Fowler trip over them landing face first in the grass.

If there was a such thing as a human traffic pileup, this is it. The coach and his partner fall in different directions and promptly try getting up, tripping up dozens of other racers. Two pairs of runners trip over Dane as he and Meg stand back up, only to get knocked down by other runners trying to avoid the fallen.

People that had previously fallen and had no chance at top ten, now have a significant chance.

Lord Stein shouts, "And we have our second place winners! Who will take the rest!"

OOC: Dane and Miss Hoffman have a strong chance of finishing third still. Their fall caused a chain reaction of wipeouts. Their biggest challenge will be to keep ahead of Steve and Maya.

Frank and Johnny finished in 1st place!
Megana and Sam finished in 2nd place!
Dane and Miss Hoffman, Coach Driver and Mr Fowler and dozens of other racers are on the ground, Steve and Maya are amongst the very few back on their feet and about to pass Dane and Meg.
Several other dozen racers approaching or still getting up. Including Megana's mom and grandma.
Sheriff Ericson and Deputy Tokahashi are back in the race, pretty much in last as everyone else that far back has given up.

Megana hugs sam tightly as she smiles"2nd place!!!! Thats good!!" But as she hugs him....she looks up to him trying to see if he speaks like he did earlier.

A loud grunt escapes Dane's lips as they hit the ground. He quickly, but carefully extracts himself from arms, limbs and other body parts and helps Meg to her feet, careful not to give her any more rope burns than she already has from the fall. "You okay? Sorry, lost my rhythm. Let's get it back." He'll try to be more in sync with Meg if they have to pick up the pace again.

Dane loudly grunts as they hit the ground. He quickly, but carefully, extracts himself from arms, limbs and other body parts to help Meg to her feet, careful not to give her any more rope burns than she already has. "You okay? Sorry, lost my rhythm. Let's get it back."

Besides a little blood on her lip, Miss Hoffman seems quite fine. "Let's do this!" she encourages with a blood smeared smile. Steve and Maya quickly gallop by, but begin to stumble trying to get around people that have tripped ahead of them. Dane and Miss Hoffman take the long way around, allowing them to run faster. A few yards before the finish line, Steve and Maya begin passing Dane and Meg, but Miss Hoffman, in a last desperate attempt, locks her arm with Dane's and dives, carrying him with. Dane looks up from the grass, unsure if he's scraped up or not, at Megana, Sam, Frank and Johnny as Miss Hoffman's face looms into view, locking eyes with Dane. "We got third!" she kisses him.

Steve audibly groans as he and Maya take fourth. Interestingly, Megana's mom and grandma take fifth, followed by a bunch of random contestants taking up the final five placings. Greg Fowler and Coach Driver received serious rope burns and disqualified themselves by untying the rope. The sheriff and his deputy dropped out after another nasty spill, forcing them to untie themselves. Most contestants fell and dropped out or simply walked the rest of the way, defeated.

Lord Stein excitedly booms, "And there we have our top ten racers! Let's hear it for our winners!" As he walks to each pair and hands each racer their prize, which is one credit, except for Frank and Johnny, who receive eleven credits. "Alright folks," Lord Stein announces, "You're all fine to disperse and enjoy the other fine events going on!" And without another word, he meanders towards the tug-o-war contests.

Megana tightly hugs Sam, cheering, "2nd place! That's good!" As she hugs him, she watches to see if he speaks like he did earlier. For a split second, Sam is surprised, but then reciprocates her hug. As he hugs her back, he notices her looking at him, with their noses nearly touching, she clearly hears him whisper again, yet, his lips never move, "You're so beautiful. I think she likes me!" And he leans in without warning as his breath lightly caresses her lips, he lightly touches his lips to Megana's.

Megana blushes as he kisses her. Hearing his words yet his lips not moving made the red in her cheeks redder....she slowly melt to his touch and closes her eyes*

For a second, Dane forgets how to breathe. His brain trips over itself trying to decide whether to process the kiss, the grass in his mouth, or the fact that half the town probably just saw it happen. He nervously licks his lips and tastes a hint of iron from the blood on hers.

“Uh—yeah,” he finally manages, blinking up at her. “Third place. Not bad for amateurs.”

He laughs — low, a little breathless from the run and the kiss — hoping it sounds casual. It doesn’t.

oO Lame. Oo he thinks, still trying to navigate this unknown territory of human connection.

Lost for a moment in her eyes, he finally murmurs, “So, I’ll… uh… get us untied then.” Forcing himself to look away, he bends down to work at the knot binding their legs.

Frank looks at Johnny, "See, I'm fast when I need to be just not as fast as you. I'm just glad you didn't fall of the course and get more than a few new bumps." Frank then does a quick victory shimmy before high-fiving Johnny. "Where else do you think we could win some prizes? Wait when are they doing the sack race do you know??"

OOC: Each of you may go back to your original, personal threads to reply now. Assuming that everyone is going different directions. I believe that Brad and Kendal may attempt the obstacle course.
