Re: Belle
{OOC: My apologies. Upon re-reading your prior post, you did state you were going to Jermander's. My brain skipped right over that the first time.}Kitsune wrote:OOC: Towards Jermander's tavern
Belle watches the man slink out of the bar and can see no evidence of malice in his movements. He mostly just looks like a guy that doesn't want to get "volunteered" for anything.
As Belle slips on her mask the room goes deathly quiet. Most people get at least an uneasy feeling when confronted with the site of an Apok mask. No one...or at least almost no one...realizes what it means to be an Apok. Rumors swirl around the name Apok in every corner of the planet. To the common folk in the tavern, an Apok is to be feared and not trusted and some may even believe that she is an enemy agent. Belle gets these looks wherever she goes from the people that don't know her.
In a gruff voice she states, "Thank you for your hospitality, good innkeeper."
The man behind the counter simply nods and stairs after her. His hands resting uneasily out of site.
Belle looks at the offer of guidance, "Well, let us go to this Jermander's." she says as she steps out of the tavern.
Belle notices the young woman grab her husbands arm before Belle slips through the doorway and into the night. After a few moments the man joins her and they walk in silence for a time. The evening, as it almost always is, is warm and comfortable. Stars can be seen dotting the cloudless sky above.
"My name's Jeremy Jones." His soft voice breaks the silence of the mostly empty streets. "My friends call me Jonesy."

Re: Belle
"I probably need a name such as Banshee or Reaper but at the moment just call me Belle," she states. "Doesn't really matter who I was before."
Re: Belle
They continue on through town in silence. Walking side by side. Within a few minutes they find themselves approaching the older, rougher part of town. Debris litters the ground where wind and time has carried it into corners. Otherworldy dust has collected in corners here and there. Tossed clothing, broken plates and bits of rope can be found. No one cares enough to clean up any of the mess. They are all too caught up in there own worries just trying to survive the dangers of the planet they live in.
After walking for close to an hour they can hear the hum of voices coming from up ahead and dim light pouring from an open doorway. Crossing over to that side of the street, they enter Jermander's--Belle taking the lead. Jonesy pulls up short as soon as he enters the room. Standing over in corner leaning up against the wall is a huge armored being. Easily ten feet in height and who knows how much it weighs. It looks like a giant suit of walking plate armor. The way it is just casually leaning against a wall observing the patrons is almost comical in nature.
Belle, upon seeing the creature, is impressed by it's size and apparent armor, but she avoids the slack jawed impression of her new companion.

Re: Belle
She was once like that, even worse actually. Belle would sacrifice anybody to her own life. Still, she wants to yell at them that they are alive today and should live their lives now. Now is all anybody has anyway.
Stepping inside of Jermander's, she decided to be blunt, "You know what I am. There was a village attacked some distance away fro, here. I am looking for those who would be willing to assist me in dealing with the Goblins."

Re: Belle
All eyes turn Belle's way at her abrupt entrance. Some of the roughly 30 people in the room look at their table mates as if to try to read their thoughts. Some stair in fear. Some frown and go back to their drinks, but no one seems willing to take her up on her offer. One man frowns and furrows his brow and purses his lips before giving his table mate a meaningful look before returning their conversation.
The giant leaning against the wall stares with dark lifeless eyes for a time at Belle. The armor plates on his jowls lower as if in a frown. After another long moment he lowers his head to stair at the ground.

Re: Belle
She will wait several means in pregnant silence before stating, "I cannot force anybody to help. I thank you for your attention and wish you a good evening." She then turns on her heals and heads out the door.
Assuming that nobody follows her, she tells Jonesy, "I think the best we can do is scout for now. It is needless to risk your life for just stuff." She has not seen him fight so she simply does not know how good he is.
Continuing to walk, she adds, "Is there anything you might be able to add that will help scouting."

Re: Belle
"Hey wait!" Jonesy says running after Belle. "That's it? You're not even going to go talk to the walking tank in there? If anybody could help us maybe he could."

Re: Belle
"I can do so," Belle responds. "Let me try this a little different though."
She strips off her cloak and wraps her mask in the cloak. She walks back inside and heads for the armor figure, "Can we talk outside?"

Belle walks back inside and heads for the armored figure. Looking up at him she says "Can we talk outside?"
The giant suit of armor peers down at her with those cold black eyes for a moment before looking over at the bartender in an unspoken question. The man behind the bar nods his head once as he scrubs a glass out with a dirty rag.
Turning back to Belle the giant leverages himself off the wall and indicates for her to lead the way. Standing up straight he looks even larger and more looming than before. As soon as they exit the building he looks cautiously up and down the street to ensure that the three of them are alone. "How may I help you" he says in a low, gruff voice; the type of bass voice that one would expect out of a giant, but with more intelligence.

Re: Belle
There is absolutely no fear in her face. He is probably not used to anybody who does not look slightly scared of him.
She smiles a wan smile, "You seemed interested in helping deal with the goblins but something stayed your hand. Curious if I might ask why?"
