Daniel flips his tail up between his legs and uses it as a gun , aiming for the pillars ahead of the atv as he flies to catch up , and fires at multiple pillars in efforts to make a barracade to stop the atv.

"I'm sure he's just trying to stop the thief and I will see if I can do anything to help repairs providing we get that ATV back. Never a dull moment on Wormwood eh?" Gerard cracks a smirk. "I'm trying to think what in the world that creature or being might be as well as I have seen many kinds in my travels."

Ethram does not appear to be reassured by Gerard's words. "Huhuh, nope, never a dull moment." Ethram responds nervously.

Gerard didn't get a very good look at the creature in the vehicle. With the bit he did see, it could be anything from a human to a Goblin.

Jordan dashes out the front of the cave, heedless of the circle that Darl carved into the ground, and chases after the fleeing ATV and the flying Daniel.

Daniel flips his tail up between his legs and uses it as a gun , aiming for the pillars ahead of the atv as he flies to catch up , and fires at multiple pillars in efforts to make a barracade to stop the atv.

A much larger and darker ball of energy blasts from Daniel's tail as he fires at a pillar in the path of the ATV. The blast shears off the pillar like a grenade went off inside it and the pillar topples into the ATV's path. It temporarily hangs in the branches of another pillar before sliding down to block that avenue. Heartened by his victory over the foul pillar Daniel adjusts his aim and fires again. This time the blast takes a glancing blow off the edge of the target pillar blowing a large chunk out of the side of it, but not doing enough damage to completely fell it. Splinters of broken pillar fly off into the dark. Firing again, Daniel watches with some annoyance as his second shot also glances off the pillar. This time, however, it does enough damage to cause this pillar to fall as well. The ATV tires squeal across the ground as the thief narrowly dodges the pillars now blocking his path. He makes for one last opening in the noose tightening around his flight.

Daniel, seeing his opportunity, fires again and is heartened by the site of the base of his latest victim blowing into bits as the shadowy blast tears through it. The pillar falls in front of the ATV and it skids in an attempt avoid hitting it. The vehicle slides sideways and the driver's side bumps heavily against the fallen pillar. {OOC: Damage/shot - 33, 15, 17, 31}

A small humanoid creature jumps from behind the seat, his single knot of hair still smoking from the blast that shattered the ATV seat. It scrambles over the pillar blocking its way before Daniel can do anything about it. At the same time, the streaking form of Jordan runs by beneath him in pursuit of the the would be thief. {OOC: Daniel and Jordan are about 75 feet from the ATV and the ATV is about 600 feet from the cave entrance.}

Back at the cave, Gerard, Anastasia and Ethram look and listen, but the distance is too great and there are too many pillars in the way to see much of anything, now. Zeke's head tosses in annoyance as each blast rings out in the distance.

Daniel yells down to Jordan , " He abandon the atv ! "
Daniel takes aim again , this time at the creature and fires again .

Anastasia anxious to know whats going on but disappointed that she can't see or really hear anything, looks at the others with their quite surprised looks as well, "Well, I wish I knew what was going on, but I am very sure Daniel is able to handle this seeing as he has shown quite a few of his hidden talents we didn't know about before when we first met him. I just wish we knew what was going on or at least able to see..or maybe its best we don't..but I think we should be prepared in case whatever it is decides to come back here and try to mess with us, so don't you all agree?"
Anastasia looks around and wonders about the circle and if she should cast so its active again. She goes ahead and activates the circle for the groups protection.

{OOC: Sorry for the delay. We hosted our daughters wedding reception last weekend so we've been extremely busy getting ready for that. Thank God that's over and life can return to normal. Had a great time with family while they were here, though.}

The bolt of black energy flies over the spot where the creature disappeared moments before and slams into the ground in a burst of flying bits of Wormwood.

Jordan continues his pursuit and is now half way to the ATV. Since he didn't pause to acknowledge Daniel's shout, Daniel can only assume that he was heard. Daniel is closing the distance as well, but not is being outpaced by Jordan.

Anastasia anxious to know whats going on but disappointed that she can't see or really hear anything, looks at the others with their quite surprised looks as well, "Well, I wish I knew what was going on, but I am very sure Daniel is able to handle this seeing as he has shown quite a few of his hidden talents we didn't know about before when we first met him. Ethram offers Anastasia some advice "Wishing is not doing, as my dad once said. If you want to know what's going on I guess you would have to venture outside the cave and look for yourself." He smiles at her reassuringly. He reaches into his pants pocket and pulls out a small laser pistol. "I'm as ready to protect our dwelling as I can be." he says before returning the pistol to it's place.

Anastasia looks around and wonders about the circle and if she should cast so its active again. She goes ahead and activates the circle for the groups protection.

The etches in the ground glow briefly as Ansastasia pumps a trickle of energy into it to reactivate it and then it returns to it's mundane appearance once again.

"I dont think we all need to be chasing after whatever that was and we should stay together as well unless we hear the others call for us or think they may need our help. Never good to be alone or solo if it can be helped. And yes we should be as prepaired as we can." Gerard smiles and readys his rifle in case it is needed. "I'm also going to make sure Zeke is out of as many possible lines of fire as I can real quick." Gerard goes to make sure Zeke is ok and move him if needed."

Anastasia giggles at Ethram, "Its silly what I say, wishing and all that but very true, I must agree definitely and now that the circle is reactivated once again, at least that's done. Now I would like to go outside and just take a little wandering around and scout out close by and make sure things are ok close by. Mind coming with me ..better to have two of us just in case if you know what I mean. I'm sure like I said Daniel has everything control seeing that is what kind of person he appears to be."
As Anastasia awaits for Ethram, she notices maybe a little hesitance but than that could just be her, she gives him a way out "Or even you Gerard ..which ever one of you ..it shouldn't take that long just to peek out real quick and make sure things are stable just outside the doorway."

Gerard moves Zeke to the side of the cave where at least he'll be a little more protected. He's still in line of site at an angle outside the cave, but not as visible as before.

Ethram looks over at Gerard expectantly, wondering if Gerard is going to go with Anastasia or if he should build up his nerve to go instead.
