OOC:

1) Relative to the cave and/or cave mouth, exactly where and how big is the CoP that Darl's drawing?
3) How are Daniel and Gerard organizing cooking and what are you cooking them in? Since it seems odd for your OCC's not to have at least basic cooking/eating utensils I'll throw you a proverbial bone and let's assume that one or both of you has a small metal pot or pan.

OOC: Mark and Jeremy, I'd still like responses from both of you so I can wrap up this scene. Otherwise I'll take artistic license with the actions of your characters that you may not like.

"Well it looks like we are about ready to do some cooking once a few of us dig around for some makeshift tools of the cooking trade. I'm more than happy to try my hand cooking unless anyone else wants to take the lead. Won't promise anything spectacular but ill try my best. The other option is if anyone wants their grubs raw instead."

OOC: Ideally, the circle will be large enough that the back side of it spans the entire cave entrance, depending on what the cave mouth dimensions are (and max span of the circle).

The intent is that the circle would be outside of the cave, but big enough to prevent entrance (by any beings who can not cross it's threshold).

After rummaging through their packs, Daniel and Gerard manage to come up with a pan, a plate and two forks {courtesy of a GM that thinks a Wilderness Scout OCC should come with basic cooking supplies. The plate and one fork is Daniel’s. The pan and other fork is Gerard’s.} The pan is made from cast resin. It is light with shallow sides, easily stored in one of Zeke’s saddle bags.

The smell of dinner wafts through the cave as Darl painstakingly carves the proper runes into the large circle he has carved near the cave entrance. The pattern reaches from cave wall to cave wall, or at least close enough that the protection will easily block the entrance from invasion by minor supernatural beings.

At its finality Jordan, Anastasia and Daniel feel the loss of their magical energy as Darl infuses the runes with magic. To those attuned to the power, the runes flare briefly as the magic takes hold. {OOC: I’ll update your character sheets shortly with the new PPE totals. Jeremy, as near as I can tell, there is no size limit for CoP’s; however, anything much larger than the one you needed here and I would likely do a success/fail roll since the larger the circle the more difficult it would be to get all of the proportions done properly.}

Sitting near the cave entrance cooking, Daniel feels a need to back away from the circle. The push is weak enough that he has no problem ignoring it, but the circle does make him feel uneasy.

Gerard and Daniel finish the cooking and Ethram breaks out the remaining sandwiches from his supplies. The fried grubs are surprisingly good considering they had no seasonings to toss in. They have just the right amount of tenderness and the bits of moss tossed in give them just a bit of tanginess. There are enough left-overs for a small breakfast in the morning.

Daylight is now gone and Wormwood’s two moons bath the landscape outside in a dull orange glow. The typical warm day will soon cool to another comfortable night. As comfortable as it can be on Wormwood with the ever present threat of the supernatural evil that reigns just a few hundred miles from here, that is.

OOC: Just a few quick notes about Wormwood. Days are 12 hours long and nights are 13. Normal daytime temperature is 80 degrees F. Normal nighttime temperature is 70 degrees. There are occasionally more extreme temperatures, but they are infrequent and usually happen in a locality with a large army of evil. Rain is also scarce, but with little to no natural soil or vegetation there isn’t a great need for it.

Anastasia is done eating and pleasantly full.
"Thank you everyone. That was very filling and good indeed. I think I'll get my things ready and find a spot to relax and enjoy the evening and hopefully fall asleep. Good nite all"

OOC: It's been three days and only one response. I left that last post open ended thinking that you would take the opportunity to let me know what your characters were doing next and how they were handling the night time hours. Maybe I left it a little too open and you were all confused where to go from here or perhaps you were all busy with your weekend. In any case, hopefully that cleared up any confusion about what I need from you and you'll post soon.

After eating Gerard cleans up his cooking equipment and packs it away. "How do you all want to handle posting watch tonight? Or what is does everyone think? We should also bring in any equipment or supplies if the vehicle has anything in it that could be taken or destroyed if we have visitors tonight. Sorry all after spending a lot of time out and about you just develop some procedures. I also need to feed Zeke as he's had a long haul today."

OCC- is Zeke outside or is the cave large enough to hold everyone with enough room to be comfortable? If Zeke has to say outside I will bring in everything so that he can relax. If he is inside I'll do the same and find a place off to the side so the others can get comfortable.

Daniel listens to Gerard as he eats and finishes up.
"That was good fixin's. Nightwatch might not be a bad idea. But i think that c.o.p. that Darl put up , should be good. Just as long there is an alarm on it if someone gets close to it."
Daniel cleans his cooking supplies and puts them away. Shuts his whip down and cleans her up and puts her by his side. Shifts into human form and puts back on his shirt. And lays down towardsthe back of the cave.

"On the contrary," Darl pipes up. "The spell won't last forever ... but at least the circle will be there, ready to re-activate, if a situation arises where you end up needing it. A night watch would certainly still be prudent."

"Other than that, it looks like you're mostly settled in ... Can you give me a good description of that wagon and the rest of the party, just to refresh me regarding exactly who we're looking for?" Darl knows that if the wagon party reaches town before he does, then he's likely going to have to spend some time questioning others to try and determine where their quarry had gone to next ... so he spends some time re-confirming as many details as he can about the group before preparing to set out into the night, himself.

Daniel looks up at Darl, "Ok, you go on and hunt down that wagon....Guys I will take up first watch,sense I can see in the dark ."

Daniel gets up walks around the c.o.p. takes back off his shirt. Take up a possition just to the of the enterence of the cave, shifts back to his undead self.
" When one of you wants to take up guard let me know."
