"Might as well head back to the others and let them know what I have found." Gerard things to himself as he quietly heads back.

Anastasia a little frustrated and lets out a hurumph loudly.
"Oh sorry, it didn't work what I was trying to do but rest assured I really didn't find anything near by at least. So as we travel further I may try something else as we go along here an make sure if theres good or bad out there if we come across something.

The trek to Chisel Town continues. All indications so far is that the quarry they are following did not leave the normal road...at least Daniel, in his scouting about, hasn't seen any indication of any travellers having left the road for more than just a short distance.

As night approaches, Daniel can feel fatigue of many hours of flying taking a toll on his stamina, but he still feels well enough to continue. Zeke's head is starting to droop more and more as the miles wear on. Anastasia taking turns with Gerard walking the horse has helped it keep up a steady pace throughout the day. As night approaches Jordan suggests they look for a place to camp. Gerard, having been this way recently estimates that at the current pace they could make it to Chisel Town about nightfall on the following day.

"I'm afraid I will need turn back in the morning." Ethram explains as they discuss the approaching nightfall. "The power cell in this old ATV doesn't hold a charge very well anymore, so this is about the extent of its range. I may have pushed it too far as it is." Pulling up next to Gerard at a time when Daniel is near he asks the group "Do you see any place that looks good to set up camp?"

Long shadows stretch across the road from nearby fossil-like pillars. They can tell that they are getting closer to the mountains outside Chisel Town as the surrounding hills are getting larger. The tallest reaching one or two hundred feet above the plain. As the sun sets to their right, the tips of the distant bare mountains shine brightly with the reflected light.

Daniel wonders at a world with little to no vegetation. The mountains back home would have been covered with lush green trees, not these dull colored tree-like pillars with their weird branching appendages and gaping hollows. The approaching night makes them seem like a haunted dead forest as they are silhouetted by the sun. To the others, the natives of Wormwood and Darl who has spent many years here, they seem perfectly natural.

A cooling breeze drifts across the land.

Noticing how the landscape is changing, Daniel gets the feeling that he is not in kansas anymore. Daniel decides to start hunting for a good spot to call it a night.
Daniel says , " I am gonna see what i can find for a good spot for us."

He looks for any kind of shelter giving spot, maybe a small cave or cluster of trees.

OOC: Just a little addendum to my previous post, without the ATV, it will be mid afternoon of the following day before they arrive in Chisel Town rather than evening tomorrow. The time estimates are assuming starting at about first light each day and travelling until dark. Doesn't mean you have to do it that way.

Anastasia looks around at the scenery as they travel, seeking out anywhere for water and greenery.

Unfortunately its barren as far as she can tell so far and Daniel verifies as well. Since there is some water left, she sacrifices what may be hers and gives some to Zeke. "Here you go,Zeke" brushing his mane and rubbing his nose, reassuring him that everythings going to be ok. Anastasia turns to Ethram, "Well, you got us this far..we'll make it the rest of the way. WE just thank you soooo much for everything you have done for us."
For now it seems everyone just tries to figure out where we can stay thats the best, everyone so very tired and a ways to travel tomorrow, that we need a good nights sleep. A definite time for someone to be on the watch while others sleep.
"Daniel, you find anything yet?"

"Yep a good time to try and find us some shelter. Thanks for the lift Ethram. If we do catch up to the group of people anything you would like me to tell your wife if I see her? Other than I was able to find you and verify that you are ok." Gerard smiles. "Be safe on the way back. The other option is you could stay with us tonight and head back once you have better light as there are all sorts of things that could be out there."

Darl exits the ATV, and spends a full minute stretching out his cramped limbs.

Glancing around, he surveys their current surroundings silently, chipping in with the search for a decent place to make camp (wilderness survival), as well as any signs of potential demon activity. (Tracking/Detect Ambush)

"Well, let's see ..." he muses out loud. "So our friends had a 24 hour head start on us ... we can assume that they took at least a bit of a break last night, and if they haven't arrived yet, they must be getting close to Chisel Town tonight. Once they arrive in the city, it's going to be incredibly difficult to figure out where they went from there, so it might be advised to try and catch them tonight."

Looking around at the group, he adds, "Of course, I recognize that pushing on tonight just isn't an option for most ... but personally, I've got a bit of cabin fever after being cooped up for the ride. In addition, I'm a natural in the dark ... better than most of you, if not all. If you're open to it, I'd like to volunteer to go on ahead, and then meet you at Chisel Town tommorrow evening."

Pausing momentarily to judge the initial reaction, he adds, "That said, I also recognize my absence would leave you slightly more vulnerable tonight ... so I'll just throw that out here for discussion, and leave the decision to the rest of you."

Anastasia looks around still trying to scout out a good secure place for the night.
Listening to what Darl has to say and looks to him knowing that he is the way he is, "Sure Darl why don't you go ahead and do that. I think thats its a good idea and see what you can figure out while the rest of us rest up and head out in the morning. There is something I think you can do for us to help us is maybe put out some kind of markers for us so we can follow which way your going in tracking...that would help alot. And Ethram I too think its a good idea you rest up and start off in the morning so your well rested. We certainly dont want to see anything bad happen to you on the way back home after all what you've done for us..we would like to see you get back safely."

After Daniel gets back from his scouting mission.

Daniel looks at Darl, "Ok sounds good. I will fly with u to a certain point. Then i will have to turn back. I will stay the night with the party. "

Daniel will take to the air and follow Darl out 2 miles and return back.
