Ectoplasm

A player recently brought this up to me:

"Can a character with ectoplasm use the psionic to look around corners? Even though it doesn't specifically say or not say if it can be used that way." Keep in mind that ectoplasm can be both in gaseous or slime form.

Thoughts?

Since it's not specified, it needs a "house rule". My thinking is that in gaseous form you can get vague impressions but not clear images. Heat for sure, shape of the object if surrounded by the gas thus creating a void. In ectoplasmic form, can be used like a periscope, so looking around corners is totally allowed. On the fence about whether the size of the tendril should impact vision quality .

Another player, in chat, stated that it depends on which psionic is being used in conjunction with it. I agree, but like to see everyone's take on it.
