A moment passes, tensely, as the man on the far edge of the clearing stands still, rifle ready, but otherwise not moving ... Before a voice, seemingly coming from almost within the group itself, cuts through the nose of the wind and blowing snow, a little close for comfort.

"Damned wolves."

It's a younger voice; not quite still a child, but also not quite yet an adult.

"Relax. If you were my target, you wouldn't still be standing," the voice states. "I take it there's more of you out here," it continues, referring to the noise of nearby combat. "So how many of these mutts are we looking at?"

OOC: The arrow sticking in the ground ... Did you mean i) an arrow is sticking out of the snow, or ii) a new arrow hits the ground, having just been shot at the group?

As the arrow lands, the voice sighs, audibly.

"Fighting on one side, and arrow snipers on the other. Don't tell me you've stormed in here and pissed off the locals, have you? Because if so, then that might put me in a a moral quandary, here ..."

"I've already said I'm not here to kill you ... But tell me. What have you done to piss off Camp Union?" the disembodied voice questions, eeriely calm given the wind, weather, sounds of nearby combat, and the arrow just fired in their direction from the cover off the trees.

"For the moment, just consider us the local neighborhood watch," the voice answers, though the speaker is still not visible; and the older man is still on the other end of the clearing, rifle at the ready.

At the mention of the word “dogboy”, the voice takes on a suddenly aggressive tone. “Coalition?!?” it states incredulously. “Here?”

“So that’s not Camp Union firing at us from the tree line, then?”

The voice seems to twist slightly in the wind, the last question being directed towards Dusty.

Vi runs over to Dusty, "Old man, you okay?" She then looks towards sound of the disembodied voice, "Who the hell are you two?"

Dusty stretches his back, "Oh yeah, I'm gonna feel that shit in the morning... I'll live." He scans the ground for tracks, specifically from the voice, but finds none, "Clever kid. I understand not trusting us, but the natives will probably appreciate the help... if you're willing."

"For the moment, just consider us the local neighborhood watch," the voice answers, though the speaker is still not visible; and the older man is still on the other end of the clearing, rifle at the ready.

"I've already said I'm not here to kill you... But tell me. What have you done to piss off Camp Union?" the disembodied voice questions, eerily calm given the wind, weather, sounds of nearby combat, and the arrow just fired in their direction from the cover off the trees.

"Pissed off camp union? Hell, we're helping them. There's a wolf problem here and a fucking dogboy, who's leading them." Vi feels the electricity arc between her fingers as though she's its a the newest toy, hot off of the shelves.

At the mention of the word “dogboy”, the voice takes on a suddenly aggressive tone. “Coalition?” it states incredulously. “Here? So that’s not Camp Union firing at us from the tree line, then?” The voice seems to twist slightly in the wind, the last question being directed towards Dusty.

"If that thing is Coalition, then he's alone." Dusty stretches, wincing at a few sore muscles and a possibly dislocated left shoulder, "He's made friends with the local wolf population... quite well, in fact. They consider him the alpha." He glances to the southwest, "Haven't gotten a good look."

Megana slowly sits up, "Fucking hell can my ears stop ringing... getting a bit of a headache!" as she looks around see notices the newcomer, "The hell?" as the ringing finally fades away.

Dusty turns back to the voice, "Yeah, that Fido, over there, has some serious archery skills. You know of the Coalition? You aren't from these parts, are you, kid?"

The man with the rifle is slowly crossing the river ice, rifle still aimed, yet nervous of the ice breaking. Finally he shouts, "Hey! We good? I hate when you do that crap!"

“There will be time enough for introductions later,” the voice answers. “More pressing matters at hand. Union ain’t equipped to take on a full pack by themselves … it’d be inhuman to stand here just chatting while they die. Keep that dogboy off our backs; will ya? We can come back to deal with him once the tribe is safe.”

With that, a set of footprints appears in the snow, running off towards the northwest, no longer sticking to the ice patches to disguise his trail. “All good here, T!” the voice shouts as it runs. “Head to the Northwest … Union’s taking on the full pack, and they’re going to need help! Wolves got themselves a feral Dogboy as alpha!”

Looking over his shoulder to make sure Trevor understands and changes direction, Tyran’s invisible self dashes towards the sounds of combat.
