Rifts - EotC - Silvereno
Re: Rifts - EotC - Silvereno
“Perfect. Do I leave the SAM here, or take it to an armory for safekeeping?” Shep asks as he walks with Monkey toward the office. After a moment, he adds, more casually, “If you don’t mind me asking… Monkey isn’t your real name, is it? Occupational hazard?”
He smiles, "Yea, I used to be an excavation engineer. I had to be a climber and tunnel rat. One day, I fell off of the northern peak and nearly didn't make it. But they called me Monkey forever. When I recovered, I started here. So now it's technically 'Monkey wrench'." he pats the armor, "They'll transport this rig to either the northern or southern gate armory. Which one do you want it at?" Shep knows he came from the southern gate. He enters information into a computer and mutters something about an employee discount. Finally he grins, "That'll be 177 credits," as he makes sure none of the bosses are close by.

Shep pulls out his card and transfers the 177 credits. "Thanks. Seems I brought it to the right place." He gives Monkey a nod. "I'll make sure to come back here next time it needs work. Now I just need to track down some .357 ammo for my revolver and I'll be set to actually relax for a bit."

Monkey brightens. “You’re in luck! Our machine shop makes those right next door. Means you get the factory price instead of the vendor markup.”
He guides Shep through a set of doors into a full-blown machine shop with metal racks, tool benches, the steady hum of equipment. Monkey hands him a bright yellow hardhat and points toward an office across the floor, “Over there. They handle ammo sales. One credit per bullet, or twenty‑five for a box of thirty… I think.” He extends a hand for a shake. “In case something comes up, it was great meeting you, Shep.”

Re: Rifts - EotC - Silvereno
The pungent smell of the machine shop instantly assails Shep's nose, but it reminds him of other times. Some good, some bad. He thanks Monkey once more, then pulls on the hardhat and picks his way carefully across the shop floor, eyeing the equipment and backstock as he goes. On the other side of the room, he looks for a spot to set the hardhat down before stepping into the office. He's decided that a couple of boxes of ammo should be enough for now.

Shep enters the sales room, where catalogues of their creations and wares are available to either order or just purchase. A young lady takes Shep's order and moments later, takes his credits and slides two full boxes of ammo with no hassle. He also notices a catalogue of other guns and weapons that could be fun.

Re: Rifts - EotC - Silvereno
Since he has some free time, Shep lingers over the catalogue, flipping to the power weapons section. His .357 is fine against unarmored targets, but if he ends up in a serious bind outside the Silver Eagle, something that can punch through MDC material would be a significant comfort. He also finds himself wondering whether they carry any lightweight body armor, something compact enough to transport easily or even wear underneath the Silver Eagle armor.

Since he has some free time, Shep lingers over the catalogue, flipping to the power weapons section. His .357 is fine against unarmored targets, but if he ends up in a serious bind outside the Silver Eagle, something that can punch through super armor would be a significant comfort. He also finds himself wondering whether they carry any lightweight body armor, something compact enough to transport easily or even wear underneath the Silver Eagle armor.
Most of the armor on display is far beyond his budget, leaving only two pieces he can realistically consider and both are battered, used fixer‑uppers.
The first is a set of Bandito armor missing its entire right arm. The plating is riddled with holes, and the left knee has no knee joint or armor at all, leaving the lower half replaced by what amounts to an oversized boot. It’s listed at 3,000 credits, though he might be able to haggle the price down.
The second option is an off‑silver suit that immediately reminds Shep of his own power armor. It’s just as beat up: the helmet has no faceplate, and a chunk of the left side looks torn away as if something huge took a swipe at it. The arm joints have been patched with woven elastic super‑alloy threads. The torso is roughly his size but dented and warped from repeated repairs. The legs are in similar shape, as the upper left thigh bears a plasma scorch fused into the metal, and the lower right leg is nearly gone, though the internal frame still holds. This one is cheaper at 2,000 credits.
As for weapons in his price range, the selection is even slimmer. He finds only a handful of old vibro‑knives, each tagged with a warning: no returns, and the blades are prone to snapping thanks to years of poor maintenance. The only other item he can afford is a light nuclear fusion block for 1,000 credits. Purchasing it requires a construction, excavation, or mining license.

Re: Rifts - EotC - Silvereno
Shep frowns, frustrated by the quality of what's available. oO( If I run across another supplier, I'll check them out. )Oo He decides to take one more pass through the catalogue before he leaves, on the off chance there's something worth noting, maybe replacement components for missing armaments for the Silver Eagle.
OOC: How much did the ammo come to? Guessing it's the 25 credits a box Monkey quoted since you didn't mention it.

OOC: Yep, 50 credits for 60 bullets
.357 magnum colt python
62 rounds left
Leaving Shep 2,073 credits
Shep discovers that they have a deal on rail gun rounds, which may be the same ones that are used in his power armor; 800 credits for weapon drum refill or 1000 credits for a whole new, fully loaded weapon drum.

Re: Rifts - EotC - Silvereno
Shep pauses on the rail gun listing. Eight hundred to refill a drum, a thousand for a loaded spare. oO( Good to know for next time. Current drum is full, but if I'm going to be traveling regularly, a spare might be worth budgeting for eventually. )Oo He makes a mental note of the pricing and moves on. Instead he thumbs past that and looks to see how much it would cost to replace the neural mace and grenades.
