"The more I think about the encounter I had with the people traveling with the wounded one of the men had a staff. He hit me with it and at the time I knew it had to have been magical or something. When it hit me I felt a jolt through my armor. I wasn't really paying attention to the others as I had two men that were trying to knock me over my head as well as steal Zeke at the same time. I wonder if that staff was the one listed on the paper?"

Daniel smiles abit , " And they said they were runnin from the raids .... a tw staff with a hidden kicker .. and no one really knows what was inside that wagon .. I think boys and girls we have our direction to go to .. They may be responcable for Malaki's death . it maybe possible that they started the fire to cover their excapt , and the raids helped . timing could not have been any better for them . "

Daniel picks up his pack and hefts it up on to his shoulder .

"I made no sudden movements towards them as well as stayed aways off when approaching them also. Then they attacked me out of the blue. The little girl seemed hurt badly as well. Who knows what their motivations are or were. Also is it strange for others to work along with shadows or demons given the wormwood history? Unless they were told they would get a nice reward for bringing whatever they could from say that list. Looking at it you just see a bunch of random stuff really. Lets see what the others say Danial but I'm leaning towards what your thinking as well I believe."

Darl's ears perk up at the mention of the events from the previous day.

"Certainly sounds interesting ..." he states ... "Might I suggest we speak not another word of this until such time as we can be certain we are not being listened to? I really don't think the shade would chose to travel overland in the morning sun, which means it's likely watching us from nearby this very moment."

In the meantime, Darl will try and decode anything he can from the papers he was handed (if everyone else is absorbed in their own thoughts ...)

Leafing through the papers that Daniel pulled from under Father Malaki's hand, Darl sees that they appear to be notes and thoughts about the orb. Some of the pages are an indecipherable mangle of letters and numbers. Obviously some sort of code and it will take the proper key to figure out what it says. Darl doesn't have much time to actually do any reading as Gerard and Daniels discussion pulls his mind back to the present.

The Redeemer bows his head, not looking at Gerard or anyone else, and speaks in a solemn tone...almost the whispered voice of remembrance. "It does..happen...more often than most would admit or care to know." His voice trails off and silence overtakes the room.

After a brief pause waiting to see if his friend continues Jordan elaborates. "What my friend means is that some people either have evil in their hearts and are drawn to the destruction of the The Unholy and his minions or they see the enslavement of the human race as inevitable and hope to become a favored slave by submitting themselves willingly. Others are drawn to the promise of power from Salome and others. The Unholy is extremely intelligent. He works both overtly by sending The Horde to attack and enslave and he works covertly to convert those in power or in position to get him something he wants. Even those at the top of the church are not immune." Looking around briefly to see if any church clergy were listening he quickly concludes. "Given where we are, though, that's all I'd better say about that." There is a sadness in Jordan's eyes; not just the sadness he normally exhibits, but something that gets deeper as he speaks.

Anastasia looks around at the others in the room and listens to the comments.

"I agree that we should probably scatter and not discuss anymore about this situation and what we have found out. At the moment theres extreme danger from this demon coming back as well as the towns people looking at us to blame. Lets go ahead and gather our things and go ..we can discuss when we get a ways out of town where we are going to go but til then please lets go! I don't have a good feeling about all this."

Anastasia looks over at the Redeemer the goes to Jordan after picking up her bag, and holds on to his arm looking at him with the question in her eyes that he only would know of whats bothering him. She now awaits for all to gather their things and hopefully get out fast.

Daniel looks at Darl , " I agree Darl .. We need to get moving now .. Looks like we are headin to Chiel Town . being that its gonna be nice and sunny out .. no shade to cover us all the way there .. be a good time to play catch up on info and ect .. "

Daniel resets his pack on his shoulders with the shoulder straps and waits for everyone else to get in gear and lets move out .

"Sounds good I'll go get Zeke. As we are all obviously concerned would another of you all mind coming with me? Not sure it's a good time for any of us to move around alone. Also once we are all back together and ready, should we just head out or who should tell Brother Tobias we are leaving?" Gerard pauses for a second thinking. "Does everyone have enough supplies for the journey? I'm sure we can find some things along the way if needed but just in case."

"Let Tobius know that we're leaving town, and will get out of his hair ... and that one of us will return within a couple weeks with a report. Right now, we don't know who we can trust, and until we work that out, the less they know about our intentions, the better."

Looking over at Daniel, he adds "If anyone IS listening in, let's not feed them anymore information about what we're planning, or where we're going, eh?"

OOC: If we call Demon territory North, the Shade was heading East (the direction Darl came into town and, coincidentally, the direction of the bathing pool that had traces of blood in it.) Gerard came in on the "road" South of town. And with that said, I'm going to move things along a bit.

Tobius looks up from his desk as the group enters his office. "So, what did you find out?"

Jordan waits for a second to see if anyone speaks up first {OOC: In other words, if anyone wishes to jump in here I can scratch what Jordan says and go with your versions instead.} "Well, it appears that..." and he proceeds to fill in Tobius with what they've found...being careful to be intentionally vague in the exact details. Looking to the others as he finishes the tale he asks "Does that about sum it up?" {OOC: Assume that Tobius now knows the general details about the shade and that you suspect you know who took the orb. Now's the time to ask him any other questions.}
