Vi shouts, "You gonna tell me you didn't see a fucking atomic bomb cloud earlier?" She quickly dresses, donning her armor and furs.

"Vi that was only us," Megana amends.

"Every time you're around everything goes to hell!" Vi starts to arc the electricity between her fingers. "I think it's time you start giving us answers, old man."

"No! Not till you tell us what we want to know, Dusty," Megana stares at him trying to figure out any surfacing thoughts, yet, it's almost as though he doesn't exist. She doesn't even catch a sense of his feelings or thoughts.

Dusty’s voice cracks like a whip through the room, all the warmth gone from it. “What in tarnation has gotten into you two?” The smirk he always hides behind is nowhere in sight. “All you’ve ever done is ask me who I am.” His control snaps. He roars the words, “I’m a nobody who burned his whole damn life trying to keep a family legacy from collapsing! People got greedy! People died! And I’m the one who has to carry that. Not you!”

He turns away from them, staring into the whiteout beyond the doorway as if the storm might swallow him whole. “I don’t know what ‘atomic cloud’ you think you saw, but there ain’t one. There hasn’t been for hundreds of years.” His breath comes hard and uneven, each inhale shaking with the effort to hold himself together. “I spent half my life protecting the people I care about,” he growls, voice thickening as tears finally break loose. “So let me do my damn job.” His shoulders tremble, not from the cold, but from the weight he’s been carrying alone for far too long.

Dusty lets a heavy breath out, "In time. I'm not ready to talk about it... I'll meet you two in the tribal room," and he disappears into the white.
