Darl returns back to the present, looking around at the assembled group.

"It appears that the Shade was looking for the orb ... perhaps the demons didn't actually find what they were after during the fire?"

OOC: Based on the timelines of Darl's visions, how much time passes between the death of Father Malaki and the demon appearing outside? Assuming the timeline is fairly close (i.e. the demon left very shortly after draining Father Malaki), Darl will cast again; moving forward a few minutes into the interrogation. If there is a large gap of time between the death and the murders outside, Darl will instead focus on then, to see what the Demon did after the murder and before leaving; but only if the timeline leaves a significant gap.

Darl estimates that there is about a 10 minute gap between when the demon killed Father Malaki and when he appeared outside.

Daniel pauses at looking through the papers and looks up at Darl , " Either this shade is one stupid mofo or Malaki knew what he was puting his hands on ."

Daniel then smiles then scans the room for anything that might fit into what he has in his hands presently .

OOC: So if I'm understanding right, it was roughly a 10 minute interrogation, and then 10 minutes of doing something else before appearing outside? In that case, let's try near the end of the interrogation (somewhere around the 6-7 minute mark) and the end of the 'something else' timeframe as well.

OOC: So, you're asking for two readings, right?

OOC: In the interest of expediency, yep!

With the help of the other's Darl once again prepares to cast his spell.
Darl once again sees the demon standing over Father Malaki. He paces a bit as he alternates between asking questions and torturing Father Malaki. In the middle of the torture Father Malaki passes out and appears to be dead. The demon's eyes flash with anger as it runs a knife across its wrist and Father Malaki's wounds appear to heal. His eyes open to the nightmare once again and the torture continues... Darl is frustrated by the fact that he can't read lips better, but just before the vision fades, he can make out a word on Malaki's lips "strangers".

Just as he is about to cast again, a startling thought crosses Darl's mind...'the Shade could be out in the hall and this exercise will be a complete waste of energy...oh well....' and the spell is cast.

Father Malaki lays dead in the middle of the floor, blood oozing from the wounds in his chest. The shade is standing in the middle of the room with its eyes closed, concentrating. As Darl starts to wonder if this was a waste of energy after all, the demons eyes snap open. The shade bears it's sharp teeth...Darl realizes that's what passes as a smile. Walking over to the scattering of items from the shelf, the demon reaches down and picks up one from the floor, it's body blocking the view from Darl's perspective. While holding the item in its left hand, it runs the knife across the exposed forearm and stands in concentration. It is still standing, unmoving, when Darl's spell runs out.

After Darl done with his spell and comes back out of his trance , Daniel walks over to him .
" Hey Darl take a look . . This is probable what the shade is after ."

Daniel hands him the stack of papers then turns around and heads outside . As he walks out he hollers back , " I am headin out side for some freshair , and those papers are bout the orb from what I can gage ."

Daniel exits the room and takes a right passing people as he walks outside . Once he is outside he walks to the back of the building to where there is no people around . He leans himself against the wallk and sits down taking a deep breath thinking bout whats next that needs to be done and where to go .

[giggles]

Anastasia takes a quick glance at Daniel,"The orb? thats what weve been looking for but I think we better hurry and find out as much as we can and scatter before the townspeople have an uprising against us. Darl, do you need more info or more mana so you can see more about what happened before we have to scatter?"
Anastasia waits now looking at the stack of papers and wondering what to do next.

OOC: Where were Malaki's hands in the vision where he apparently died ... were they in the same position as how we found him, spread over the papers Daniel picked up?
