Lysanthra isn't sure how to answer Ingrid. She wants to help her friend but she's not sure how to do that. "What are your options, Ingrid? What happens if you tell what you saw?" Liz wonders if she's worried they will accuse Ingrid of something. She didn't see what really happened so she doesn't feel compelled to get involved beyond maybe protecting her friend. But what happened and why? She's not sure she even wants to know.

"My friend probably goes to jail. I'd probably be arrested as an accomplice," she sighs, "But I don't know if I can live with myself knowing what I saw. Dusty was just defending himself. But what he did was... so alien. Like a d-bee would do. But we've all known Mr. Sky for about a decade. He's kept to himself and always helps people in need." She gulps down her drink, wincing as the hot, alcoholic tea burns its way down. She nods towards the decanter, "If you want some, then go for it. I'm sure that you hav..." The sound of a gunshot interrupts her. The noise of the crowds outside suddenly quiets down.

Moments later, Ingrid and Lysanthra can both hear the sounds of the town leader, Lord Stein, bellow, "ENOUGH! This festival is OVER! Everyone not arrested, get out of here and go home! Anyone with blood on them stays for questioning or will be charged with eluding authorities! This is not HIS way and is just plain evil! Has nothing I taught you folks mean anything?"

The color drains from her face again.

Lysanthra looks at Ingrid with fear in her eyes. How can she protect her friend and not get into trouble of her own? "I can't make the decision for you but I will tell you to do what you feel is right in your heart. I will stand beside you as a friend but we have to be careful here, Ingrid. Do you understand?" Liz reaches out and takes Ingrid's hands into her own and squeezes them to offer support and hopefully some strength. "Take a moment to think about what feels right to you. Then let me know what you want to do. Okay?"

Lysanthra fearfully observes Ingrid. How can she protect her friend and not get into trouble herself? "Well, I suppose we should let the sheriff know what I saw. But I'm scared that I'll be considered an accomplice. And what if Dusty comes after me? He's a scary guy!" she squeezes Liz's hand back. "Will you go with me?"

Lysanthra tells Ingrid that she will accompany her for support. She doesn't like the idea of dealing with the authorities for fear of getting herself in trouble. She tells herself it will be okay because she has nothing to do with it. She is trying to convince herself of that but guilt by association can still cause problems. Liz tells Ingrid that it will be okay, even though she doesn't entirely believe that. "Okay, let's go talk to the sheriff," she says.
