"Umm… maybe today we're old enough for one?" he says—half question, half hopeful statement. Dane assumes Margaret knows he's still a teenager, but hopes she’ll be generous given it's festival day. As he says it, he flicks a quick glance toward Meg along with a small, crooked grin—quiet acknowledgment of the drink she’d nudged him toward earlier. In the back of his mind, his thoughts run the numbers out of habit: festival atmosphere plus being surrounded by adults equals… maybe a fifty-fifty chance the waitress will let it slide.

Margaret half shrugs, then points at Emily, "Fine, but she's not old enough," as Steve continues to half suffocate the poor tween. "So what would you all like?"

Meg nods and replies, "Vodka and cola," over the sounds of Emily's muffled protests.

"Just water," replies Maya.

She then looks at Dane, knowing that when she asks Emily, it'll be drama, "How about you?"

“Umm… vodka and cola for me, too.” He settles on the same thing Meg ordered—mostly because he doesn’t have enough experience with alcohol to know what he actually likes. “Thanks.”

Sam holds one of the empty chairs out for her as he takes the other. As the two get seated in the rather cramped patio area, Margaret asks both Sam and Megana what they'd like to drink, to which, Sam answers, "Whatever Megana has." Meg overheard Dane ask for vodka and cola.

“Hey, guys.” Dane looks up as Megana and Sam slide into the last open seats. “Welcome to the party.” He gives them his best lopsided smile.

She smiles back. "Yeah gonna hang out for abit get something to eat before helping out here. So whats happening". She spoke as she orders a water.

“Hey guys,” Dane looks up as Megana and Sam slide into the last open seats. “Welcome to the party.” He gives them his best lopsided smile.

She smiles back, "Yeah gonna hang out for a bit and get something to eat before helping out here. So what's happening?" and then she orders a water.

Sam awkwardly orders a water as well. Margaret leaves to retrieve the drinks and give everyone time to figure out what they want to eat.

198 Proof Ethanol = 5 credits per gallon (must be taken outside and not recommended for consumption)

The ethanol is generally used as a basic fuel for some engines, lamps, alternative fire source, cleaning and can be diluted and added to drinks. Frank would know the drink to ethanol ratio for best results.

Steve laughs, "I could probably eat a whole cow right now. I might get the Ribeye. What about you guys?" He finally takes his hand off of Emily's mouth.

"I wanted a SODA!" Emily screams at Steve, then catches her breath. "You have to buy me one!"

"Chill pipsqueak. I got you." Steve smiles, as though he's up to mischief.

"Really?" Emily begins to smile. Dane's seen the look before, she may try to flirt with him.

"Salad for me," Maya almost whispers.

Sam eyes the menu and asks, "I hate to ask, but what's a superdog... with cheese?" He almost laughs.

Miss Hoffman replies, "A large hotdog, covered in fried onions, cheese and chili and whatever other topping they may have."

"Oh," Sam continues scanning the menu. He leans into Megana, asking, "What's good here?"

"Dane, do you want to share loaded baked potato?" Miss Hoffman asks.

My treat, remember?” He still feels he owes Meg for the tablet, whether he won anything on Megana’s last race or not.

My treat, remember?” He still feels he owes Meg for the tablet, whether he won anything on Megana’s last race or not.

"Oh yes! That would be great!" Miss Hoffman seems excited.

"I find their burger and fries delicious as well as their cheese sticks!" Megana's stomach growls in hunger as she blushes in embarrassment.

Eventually, Margaret circles back and takes everyone's order. The loaded baked potato with wings is only four total credits. The burger and fries with cheese sticks is only two credits. Their drinks arrive as everyone seems to settle in. Steve catches Emily trying to sneak his drink, to which he promptly smacks her hand.

"So, after this, they'll be doing the third stage run on the obstacle course," Maya announces, "I hear Frank and another of your locals, Dusty, will be in it. We should cheer them on."

"I still have stage two to complete. I wonder if they'll let me try it at the same time," Steve adds.

"Well, I don't see why they wouldn't," Sam reasons.

Miss Hoffman smiles, seeing everyone starting to relax around each other like true friends. She slides closer to Dane, giving him a reassuring smile, "That sounds fun. We should go! Maybe you can try the course again."

"The drunken games have already started. I saw your friend, Brad, over there watching with some girl." Sam says to Megana.
