Now that things are under control, Dane rubs his shoulder where he got bumped — not because it hurts, but because… well, it gives him something to do while he thinks. He glances over at Meg H. as he starts gathering up his cables, trying to make some kind of order out of the mess.
When their eyes meet, he raises his eyebrows, gives a nervous half grin, and shakes his head slightly — the kind of look that’s supposed to say “Wow, that was unexpected.” But he hopes it also says all the other things he’s too awkward to voice with everyone watching: “I’m glad you were here.” “Sorry about the chaos.” “Thanks for being such a good friend.” “You wanna make out later?” .oO Wait, what? Where’d that come from? Stupid hormones. Oo.

Dane looks up from his task when Megana speaks. “I’d… uh… like to come by tomorrow and check on him. If that’s okay.”

Dr Greenwood approaches Dane, "Thank you for everything you've done. Here," he hands Dane fifty credits, bringing his wallet up to 149 credits. "Without you, that horse would be dead right now."
Miss Hoffman laughs as Dr. Lewis visibly stifles a laugh at Dane's nervous compliments. "Hey, let's go check out what's new at the festival.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Greenwood injects Thunder with something. Within moments, the horse pushes against the surgical harness and stands, nudging Megana. "Yes, Meg. Take him to the stables for now." Emily runs in to join her, doing her usual overly hyperactive ankle bouncing.
"No! He's my horse! He's all I have!" Arthur cries out.
Sheriff Ericson walks in, "Megana, you may want to hurry. Steeplechase competitions start soon. Get your business done and get there. You have about 35 minutes. Also, here!" He hands her the 1st place trophy for the race and fifty more credits, "Arthur here... has been officially disqualified and banned from ever racing here again!" He spins on his heel, facing Arthur, "Unfortunately for you, I have to take you in. Arthur Quinn, you're under arrest as an accessory in cruelty to a respected animal. We will take into consideration that you did it to save the horse's life."

Megana nods at Dane acknowledging his words as she helps Thunder back to her home ranch after getting her trophy and credits. "Thank you ill see yall at the steeplechase".

Megana nods to Dane, acknowledging his advice. She leads Thunder to her grandmother's ranch after getting her trophy and credits. "Thank you I'll see ya'll at the steeplechase."
Her grandmother notices her stabling Thunder in one of the spare stalls, asking, "And who's this beautiful creature? And why is he stitched up?"

"Hi Grandma,This is thunder...and his rider augmented him after he broke his legs and raced him with poor connections...dane will be around to check on him" as Megana pets him for now wheres midnight we need to get ready for the steeple chase"

With that, Megana finds Midnight right where Belle had said. She quickly saddles her up as she begs again for more treats. Then Megana changes into her traditional steeplechase clothing, complete with the riding crop whip. It's tight and form fitting and usually gets the boys staring.
After making sure that Midnight's shoes are secure, they head to the steeplechase track. Several other riders are there, preparing for race as they classically massaging their horses to loosen up their muscles. Megana quickly signs in as a groom takes Midnight over to be inspected and brushed down.

Megana smiles big seeing Sam. "I am so glad you came!! I was worried i wouldnt have time to see you Sam!" She hugs him tightly

He walks with her towards Midnight's stall, "I thought you were mad at me," he admits as she does her routine massages to loosen up Midnight's muscles for the race. One mess up would result in Megana covered in mud.
An announcement comes over the loudspeaker, "Five minute warning," meaning she has only five minutes to be at the starting line. It's a 1.9 mile race of jumps and sharp turns. Meg has only won twice before. Intense training on both horse and rider are paramount as it's exhausting to the rider as well. People have been known to become crippled or worse.
OOC: Happened to Christopher Reeves (Actor for Superman) doing the same thing that Megana is about to do.
"You just left so suddenly... I... I dunno." he sighs. Meg notices him clutching two blue ribbons, a red ribbon and a large trophy.
