Rifts Dead Man's Hand - Festival Day - Vi

Vi stands up and carefully hobbles through the crowd looking for Teddy, "That damn smartass, just wait till I get my hands on you." Vi laughs at herself while grimacing through the pain, but it's too much. Every movement sends pain throughout her foot and up her leg. She begins to collapse when someone catches her.

"Woah there!" she hears Teddy's voice behind her. He puts her arm over his shoulders and helps her back towards the Bottoms Up, "Let's get you somewhere you can rest and get proper attention. And maybe a shot of whiskey will help."

Frank, Johnny and their friend are almost to the obstacle course. Meg and her new boyfriend and Kendal are just leaving the course. Frank, Steve and Johnny attempt the course. After a few shaky parts, Frank completes the course. Steve makes the course look like he's done it dozens of times. Johnny wipes out onto the dirt, missing the safety mat.

Vi turns her head to look at teddy," that is a good idea, but I think I should sit out of the three-legged race. I'm kinda no good like this."
Vi quietly asks teddy, " Why are you now being nice sense we have that fight later? "

Teddy helps her get to the back door of Bottoms Up, "Honestly? My dad talked to me about being an asshole to people." He sighs, "I don't really like Johnny's whining ass. But I like you. You don't complain. You deal with your issues, like I do. And... you're hot." He leans on the wall giving Vi a chance to recover, "Even though we have to fight each other, I think it'll be the only time we ever have to fight."

He hoists Vi's arm back onto his shoulder, "But with you hurt, I think it would be best to postpone our smacking match."

They enter the backdoor, walk through the kitchen, where Frank's mom is working and she grabs Vi's other arm and helps get Vi to the bar, forcing a customer to move. Vi overhears a customer ask for "vagincool." Angie looks to the two and asks, "Why is everyone asking for that? Apparently, Frank made it?"

Eventually, Brad makes his way into the bar, where Teddy is standing beside Vi, who's sitting on a barstool, keeping her foot up. Her ankle is visibly swollen. Frank's mom is preparing a strong whiskey shot, which may be a bad idea.

"Holy! About time, Brad! What kept you?" Teddy grumbles; confusing Brad as to what Vi and Teddy are doing within a foot of each other and not taking swings.

Vi says, "Yeah, that would probably be a good idea since it wouldn't be a fair fight otherwise. Unless we both get shitfaced drunk and have it out."

Brad says. "Sorry, at first I had to fight through the crowd to get where you were, but by the time I finally did, you had already moved. Then I was looking around for you, finally spotted Teddy helping you in here."

As he moves over to Vi and opens his medical kit on the bar, he comments, "I can't recall ever seeing this many people in town, even for a festival. They're really packed in around the obstacle course. Heh, maybe I'll give it a go later." Brad will attempt to make a First Aid check on Vi, checking both her ankle and also her no doubt growing shiner.

"Umm, I'm not sure getting drunk will help either of you."

Vi heard what brad is saying and laughs," hey doc it was a thought, drunken boxing."
she looks down and both her ankles as to compare them, " so doc how bad is it? I take it the fight is postponed for now? "
as she is talking, she tries not to let the pain get to her.

Upon closer examination, Brad observes her significantly swollen ankle with a subcutaneous contusion. She sports a red mark under her eye, but no bruising, yet. Upon following examination procedure, he pokes the key points, causing Vi to breathe heavily against the pain, but she successfully stifles any cries of pain.

OOC: Conclusion: Her face is fine, in fact, she looks less like someone in a magazine and more like a person, still pretty though. She has a moderate ankle sprain. If she keeps off of it for a week, then she should be fine afterwards. It's unwise for her to be boxing or even walking on it for the next several days. Also she wouldn't be able to box at 100% and with Teddy's speed, she would be bound to twist it again within the first ten seconds of fighting, complicating the injury. Treatment Required: Painkillers would help. A brace could be crafted from a long bar towel to keep her ankle from rolling and provide support when she does need to walk. For a faster recovery, she should probably see Doctor Lewis.

"Umm, I'm not sure getting drunk will help either of you." Brad adds.

Vi listens to Brad and laughs through the pain, "Hey doc it was a thought, drunken boxing." She compares the size of her ankles, "So doc, how bad is it? I take it the fight is postponed for now?" Her swollen ankle is obvious with the swelling and bruising as she feels her heartbeat throbbing up her leg and through her foot.

"Thanks for showing up, Brad," Teddy adds, being more compassionate than his usual abrasive self.

Kendal walks into the bar, "Hi guys!" she smiles, then she notices what is going on, "Is she okay?"

Am I ok? yeah sure I'm fine except for this ankle, Vi laughs as the pain is getting to her.
Vi looks at Kendal with a laugh and smile," don't worry the other one will look the same after I pull it out of teddys ass "

Vi also did notice there is more people this year as she looks around and seeing on the street ," guys why does this year feel like its gonna be havoc and chaos ? "

Brad waves to Kendal before answering Vi's question. "Yeah, the match is definite;y postponed. It'll be at least a week before your ankle is healed up, longer if you spend too much time on it."

Pausing, he looks over to the bar, "Can I get a long towel, Mrs Coulee? I want to make a brace for Vi's ankle," then turns back to Vi.

"Your cheek will be fine, just a bruise, but trying to box on that ankle will likely result in you falling on your butt within thirty seconds, and quite possibly mess it up worse in the process. You may want to have Doctor Lewis take a look at it, he may know something that help that I don't. Lemme see if I have any painkillers with me." Brad checks his kit for the painkillers, if he has some, he'll give one to Vi.

"I'm considering trying the course later myself, I'll try to warn you guys ahead of time so you can laugh when I fall on my face," he says with a smirk.

"Am I ok? yeah sure I'm fine except for this ankle," Vi struggles to laugh through her pain. She flashes a smiling grimace to Kendal, "Don't worry. The other one will look the same after I pull it out of Teddys ass."

Teddy smirks, "Mm hmm."

Kendal glances briefly at Teddy with sad eyes. Vi also notices more people this year as she glances out the saloon window, "Guys, why does this year feel like its gonna be havoc and chaos?"

"Probably," Kendal smirks also.

Mrs. Coulee hands Brad a long clean white bar towel. This isn't the first time he's had to fashion an ankle brace with random objects. They always work when he applies them.

Teddy side-eyes Kendal, "Now this I have to see."
