Ivy and Chrome: Chapter 112
Re: Ivy and Chrome: Chapter 112
"I too am from North America, or at least people have told me based on how I speak American," Cassandra states. "I was enslaved by the Spluggorth when I was young and don't remember anything before that."
"What this is, it is a Millennium Tree I believe, a powerful magical tree which can be found across various dimensions. They can give incredible boons such as enchanted branches, leaves, and even bring the dead back to life. They are also powerful in mystical power and any Spluggorth force would think twice about attacking one.."

Re: Ivy and Chrome: Chapter 112
"Britan? I've heard of it and had even thought about traveling here. But I would have preferred being better prepared for the trip," Lori says with a wry twist to her lips. "Well, at least we know we're on Earth now. That lets me relax a bit."
She sits down on a log and asks, "Since we are quite new to this land, what can you tell up about the regional powers of the area? Obviously the Splugorth raid on this side of the Atlantic as well, but who are these knights you mentioned?"

Tyran chuckles at Lori's comment. "What ... after all this time, you don't trust me to at least get that much right?" he asks, with a teasing smile.
"Yes", he responds to the stranger, "it does seem quite nice here. "And I suppose that, if senseless killing is in abundance where you came from, being away from it would certainly be a nice change of pace."
Knowing that Dilly is supernatural, Tyran studies him as they speak, attempting to come up with a theory as to what type of being they are conversing with.
"Speaking of which, where do you hail from?"

"Well, I don't know. I was told something rare, useful; maybe even magical. That'd be nice. But I guess I'm not 'worthy.'" Dilly seems a bit sour about his time spent there. Then shrugs, "I'm from North America, but you're far from home. This is Britain. Yes, part of western Europe. You know your geography. I came here to get away from the drama." He looks at Tyran, "You guys could probably use the break too. It's nice here, don't you think? Not as much senseless killing." He seems to look for any reaction.

Dilly perks upon hearing about the resurrection abilities.

Knowing that Dilly is supernatural, Tyran studies him as they speak, attempting to come up with a theory as to what type of being they are conversing with. "Speaking of which, where do you hail from?"
Dilly sighs, "Well, that's a long story. Near Liberty originally, it's not far from pre-apocalypse Ann Harbor." He scratches his head, deep in thought, "I think they called it New Lazlo now. I got seperated from my friends. I haven't been able to find them. The last I saw them was near Ishpeming." He looks to the tree. "A string of mishappenings lead me here." He glances back at the fire pit, "I'd go back, but I think a bountiful amount of self searching is required before I do that."
Smiling back at him, Lori replies, "Very well, 'at least we're in a part of Earth I've heard of'. Is that better?" She then sits down on a log and asks, "Since we are quite new to this land, what can you tell up about the regional powers of the area? Obviously the Splugorth raid on this side of the Atlantic as well, but who are these knights you mentioned?"
"Nexus knights," Dilly grins, "If you stay out of their way, then they'll stay out of yours." He pauses, "Of course after a brief barrage of interrogation when it comes to newcomers. I dunno where they come from. I've never cared to follow them." He looks north, "The druids," he shrugs, "They're okay, I haven't spoken much with them." He looks around, "Then we have the faerie folk. Pleasant most of the time. Sometimes pranksters, but not too bad. Just don't eat or drink anything they offer you." A flash of embarrassment briefly crosses his eyes, "Or threaten them... Sometimes their punishment is worse than some of the worst torture."
He points his thumb sideways at the tree, "Sometimes druids come here to pray." Then grins, "and the occasional creature or powerful beast may arrive to stake claim on the area. It's usually very short lived."

"So the local faeries are the same as usual then," Lori says with a chuckle. "I must admit, those enchanted leaves and branches you mentioned could be interesting,Cassandra. Somehow I don't expect I'll stumble across any though."
As Dilly talks about his past, Lori perks up. "Ishpeming? We know some people from there. They were members of the Blue Angels gang."

"I have heard that you can just ask for them," states Cassandra, checking her red blond braid now that there seems to be just a bit of breathing space. "The branches, often you must be pure in spirit or might need to perform a boon. Leaves though are more commonly given as gifts."
"I just let who I was previously with," the woman continues. "I was at a crossroads where I would have to chose a darker path if I was to stay with them."

Re: Ivy and Chrome: Chapter 112
Well, I never got to know Centak or Gor all that much. I talked to them a little but at the time there was quite a few of us hanging together and I spent more time conferring with Tyran and Mors about magic. I spent a fair bit of time with Alec and Milo, as well as Drake, Jenna, Jaedite and Ricky. Hummer was nice, a lot more personable than most robots I've met.Chaser1 wrote:Tyran (Jthorson)

Re: Ivy and Chrome: Chapter 112
Cassandra looks at the giant tree just a hundred yards away in awe. She has never been this close to one. The temporal warrior takes the final steps towards the base and lays her hands onto the bark. While one might not consider her religious, this is a being of immense power. There is the pulse of it under her hands.
Doesn't know if the tree will respond or even if it can. She will whisper, "I have done some nasty things in order to survive. I don't want anything except for a little bit of safety. Perhaps you could help protect us from the minions of the Sluggorth."
