EOTC: Artificial Intelligence
oO(How is it possible for an android to feel tired?)Oo Kryyn mentally inquires. Her feet drag through the dry, chalky, hot dirt, creating at dust stream behind her. Her gear firmly on her back, she treks away from Drive City to the north. She wants a chance to collect herself and feel normal.
The young, blonde man said it was over one hundred miles to the next town. He also warned her that it was suicide. He seemed like a really nice, apart from the string of human ears in his adobe hut. A reclusive youth, named Dusty. Drive City, it isn't really a city. It's more like a small, two street town with horses and four wheelers as the apex of technology. It was one of a few places in the desert noted for being protected by the ley lines. Nobody visits them. They possess nothing worth trading for and their communities can barely support themselves; but they manage. Dusty warned of imminent, serious conflict about to erupt in Drive City. It was best to move on. Kryyn guesses that the next town will be another secluded, primitive, pocket town. Secluded from the politics, coalition, vampires and demonic invaders, it should be perfect to hide for a while.
It's been two months since El Paso. Names ring through her head, oO(Sgt Nico Mikado, Ravic, Greven, Lance and Remus Ford and the REAL Lieutenant Kryyn Toshihara)Oo Her other self has been hunting her. The vampire sewers were an easy avenue of escape. It's been only a month since Kryyn was able to evade her other self. The records show that the original had died. oO(Probably just another android)Oo
Another fugitive, Cirrus, has been trying to find her. It's too hard to trust anyone. Fugitive or not, he could be using her as a bargaining chip to clear his name. oO(Who'd have thought a vampire would save me)Oo She thinks of the man in the fancy suit; Greven. The vampire who'd assisted her escape.
Another small stone skips across the parched, cracked, hungry soil. The vast dirt horizon begs for her perspiration, dreading the impending erosion from the inevitable, scattering windstorm. She hasn't sweat in four days. Amazed that her body still functions like a person, Kryyn lightly touches her cybernetic eyes. They look and feel real. Her skin, muscles, digestive system, excretory and endocrine system all function like a real person. She even possesses sexual organs, yet is incapable of reproducing.
Depression seems to come and go at least a dozen times per day. The desert only amplifies the despair. Kryyn isn't sure how far she's walked or if she's going the right direction. The sun is to her right, the west, getting close to evening. oO(So that means I'm walking north)Oo she thinks, oO(Like it matters...)Oo The depression usually passes after a few rational moments.
She apathetically gazes around, checking the horizon for any new visage. Directly north, she spots a dark pillar spiraling up and then towards the east. oO(Is that smoke?)Oo She concentrates, causing the cybernetics in her eyes to zoom in. oO(It's definitely smoke...)Oo There is a leyline far ahead and the smoke is rising from behind that. oO(Another ley line... smoke... that's promising)Oo Finally, the faint scent of a house fire reaches her nose.
OOC: Welcome back!

Re: EOTC: Artificial Intelligence
Kryyn looks towards the fire as she slowly walks closer, "quiescence or did they somehow find out where I was heading?" she says to herself quietly as if someone else is going to hear her. She grabs for a weapon to be prepared. Not really anywhere to go for cover in a dessert landscape she thinks as she looks around. Continue on and take the chance or change course she wonders... Not seeing anything flying or that would resemble the coalition she continues on course keeping a close eye on the smoke rising from the ground, hoping she wont have to get to close before she can see the cause of the fire.
Re: EOTC: Artificial Intelligence
Kryyn observes the smoke as she approaches, "Coincidence? Or did they somehow find out where I was heading?" she quietly comments, almost expecting an answer. She grabs her fire breather, oO(Just in case, since there is no cover in a desert landscape. Continue on and take the chance? Or change course?)Oo she wonders. Not seeing any aircraft or Coalition, she continues toward town, hoping she won't be spotted.
A sudden drop off appears as she walks, revealing a vast expanse out to the horizon. Westerly is a line of trees speckled around a river, which snakes northbound to a small along the horizon. The smoke is rising from there.
Kryyn eventually glances straight down the cliff. A female corpse lies, at the base, roughly a hundred meters below. She appears to have been dead about a month or two. Her body is half-buried under a minor landslide. Bloodstained, blonde hair protrudes from its fractured head. Possible cause of death could be a single gunshot to the head, judging from a hole in her forehead.

Re: EOTC: Artificial Intelligence
Alright, here we go. She looks down the cliff, let see how well I can climb. She slowly makes her way down the cliff. As she gets to the bottom, Kryyn walks over to the body and checks it for anything useful. She then proceeds on to the burning town, still keeping a close eye on what is going on.
Re: EOTC: Artificial Intelligence
oO(Alright, here we go)Oo She peers down the cliff. oO( Let's see how well I can climb)Oo. She slowly climbs down. Upon reaching the bottom, Kryyn approaches the body and begins searching for anything useful. It's already been looted. The back of the corpse's head protrudes with dried skin and brain matter, skull fragments and blondish, blood stained hair. The woman's skin is shriveled, almost mummified and her eyes have already been plucked out by birds and insects. Luckily for vanity's sake, her shirt was durable enough to prevent predators from dissecting her torso.
Losing interest, Kryyn continues toward the town. The sun drips down bedding heavily to the west, casting an orangish-pink hue across the horizon. Ten minutes later, the eastern horizon is almost black. The sky directly above a dark, navy as the western sky remains purple.
To the north, the small oasis town looms, with a large plume of smoke rising from the far end; illuminated by the originating, flickering flames below. Panicked screams, gunfire, racing vehicles and combat echo across the desert. The closer she gets, the more Kryyn senses absolute chaos within its streets.
Only one hundred yards from the southern end of town, a lone, shadowy figure, silhouetted against the town's lights, staggers toward Kryyn. The person has noticed her and somehow appears injured.

Re: EOTC: Artificial Intelligence
Kryyn, gun at the ready, walks towards the injured person to see if she can help. As she gets closer she asks who is attacking the town hoping it isn't the coalition, even though she is certain it isn't since they like there power armors and its rare for her to not notice them from a distance. But who would want to attack such a small town, kinda seems like a waste to her.

As she gets closer, she identifies the injured as a brunette female stumbling to her left, with her head tilted down in the same direction. Her face is ripped open as her unblinking, psychotic looking eyes fixate on Kryyn. The woman's pace increases and exhales an animilistic screech.

Stop or I will shoot, Karyyn yells as she aims her gun. What is wrong with this lady, she asks herself. Not even hesitating she opens fire on the mangled women. This chick is crazy, even for what Karyyn has seen.
Once the women is down Karyyn looks for anything she can perch on to see what exactly is going on in this crazy little town.

Re: EOTC: Artificial Intelligence
"Stop or I will shoot!" Kryyn yells, aiming her rifle. oO(What is wrong with this lady?)Oo Without hesitation, she fires. Her first shot erupts a dust cloud behind the advancing woman and creates an echo across the land. The second shot scatters the woman's face and head across the flat desert behind her falling body. She waits a brief moment to be sure that the headless woman is down. She then scans the landscape realizing that no place exists within the immediate area to perch high enough to see the whole town. The desert is extremely flat out here.

Karyyn advances towards the headless body and checks it for anything useful before moving closer to the town. This time advancing quickly hoping to be able to get to a building before being noticed by any other crazy attackers. Once up on a building she tries to figure out what the hell is going on.
