EOTC: Z Day

[Chaser1]

Both Reggie and Ryan nod, the smiles beaming across their faces. Irina catches a hint of Ryan staring at her a bit too long, although, he seems to get his pitchfork ready and moves out, pointing towards the alley across the street.

Mazur follows behind Reggie as he mutters, "After you, Im slower anyways."

Reggie signals for Irina and Beth to head out into the middle of the street. Beth refuses and stays where she is, "No f***ing way. I refuse to be used as bait!"

"Beth, I'll be right there with you. I'll do everything I can to make sure nothing happens to you." Irina inwardly rolls her eyes at Beth and starts out the door into the street. She holds her hand out to Beth and asks softly, "please Beth? We need you."

[Chaser1]

Before Beth can even protest, around the corner of the cafe, about thirty feet away, the creature comes scrambling after the two, almost tripping over itself in a mad frenzy. Reggie and Ryan both look as though they are going to just run interference and get in the way of it before the creature gets to them.

OOC: okay at this point, what you want to do is describe what actions you want your character to do.

OOC: As far as I know, players of Mazur and Irina are still in. Ryan and Beth are NPCs. I haven't heard from Tim Brazeau in a long time.

"We should have just closed the door and hid in here ..." Mazur mutters. Looking desperately around the shed, he searches for a length of rope or garden hose ... thinking that perhaps they could stretch something across the path and trip up the monster without having to get too close to it ...

"We either run now, or we barricade ourselves in here and hope we can keep it out. Beth, snap out of it ... freezing up will only get you killed."

"We should have just closed the door and hid in here." Mazur mutters as he looks desperately around the shed. He spots a length of rope coiled up, hanging on a nail at the back of the shed. "We either run now, or we barricade ourselves in here and hope we can keep it out. Beth, snap out of it. Freezing up will only get you killed."

Ryan, Irina and Reggie run out to intercept the rotting, mangled man. Meanwhile, with Mazur still inside of the shed, Beth slams the shed doors shut and immediately wedges a length of wood under the door. A notch at the bottom of the wood prevents it from being able to open. Mazur notices that Beth is shaking uncontrollably. She slowly backs away from the door, as Mazur can make out Beth making unintelligable sounds as she holds her hands out, as though she wants to open the door, but can't.

The sounds of a physical struggle can be heard outside, with Irina screaming out, "Are you kidding me?"

OOC: The player of Irina is passing the character back to it's original owner if and when Chris Jones signs up for the Ivy and Chrome site. The player of Reggie was Tim Brazeau, who is MIA at this time. If you know someone who is willing to play Reg, then please let me know.

"Beth ... hand me that coil of rope, quick!" Mazur states, as he looks around the shed, looking for a hand-held gardening fork, trowel, or other implement he can use to fashion a lazy-man's grappling hook. "Attacking that thing is foolish, but I'm not waiting for it to come after us next. We need to get to the roofs."

"Hold on, guys ..." he thinks to himself, as he quickly fashions his makeshift escape tool, knowing it could also in a pinch to entangle the monster, or as a weighted rope weapon. "I'm coming ..."

"Beth ... hand me that coil of rope, quick!" Mazur states, as he looks around the shed, looking for a hand-held gardening fork, trowel, or other implement he can use to fashion a lazy-man's grappling hook. "Attacking that thing is foolish, but I'm not waiting for it to come after us next. We need to get to the roofs." Beth slowly walks backwards, eyes dilated and as bumps into the back wall of the shed, right next to the wall. oO(Hold on, guys)Oo he thinks to himself, as he quickly fashions his makeshift escape tool, knowing it could also in a pinch to entangle the monster, or as a weighted rope weapon. "I'm coming ..."

Mazur finds a garden hoe right next to the rope and Beth, who is still staring blankly at the doors, waiting for the inevitable. The sounds of fighting outside are apparent. The sound of Reggie's sword clanking off of the ground, mixed with the sound of someone falling down. Mazur can hear Ryan's pitchfork skip across the ground. A few seconds of this and then Ryan shouting, "Run! It can't be killed! I stuck him square with it!" Moments later, the sounds of their escaping footsteps can be heard as Mazur finishes tying a crude knot, creating his grappling hook.

He turns to see Beth staring at him, eyes still dilated, reaching for his hand. "Stay with me." She whispers softly.

"We can't stay ... but we can get to somewhere safer," he reassures her. "Did you see how that thing was stumbling around? It can barely walk, let alone climb. If we can get to the roof, we'll be safe."

Mazur reflects back to a mental picture of the village layout, and the shed they currently occupy. Is it attached to a house? Could they possibly get up onto the shed, and from there, get inside? They were going to need something more than pitchforks and hammers, he figured, if they wanted to get out of this alive.

He takes another scan around the shed, seeing if, perchance, it might have an alternate exit ... a trapdoor in the roof or floor, perhaps? As he looks, he listens carefully in an attempt to gain some insight as to what's happening outside, and the location of the monster and his friends ...

There are no other exits, just the door in front of them. Then in a brilliant revelation, Mazur looks directly at the floor, realizing that it is loose dirt. (ooc: nice, he made a check against his IQ and perception)

He tries to think more and listen outside, but Beth... He realizes that she is no longer acting herself as he is practically throwing herself on him. Trying to kiss him. "Before we die... Just once." Is all he can make out with her face directly in his by the time he realizes what she is doing. For the first time, he notices that she has hazel eyes as she looks into his, pleading, "Please?"
