.oO Only six shots...I better make 'em count Oo. Shep thinks to himself as he hustles along the best he can. As he passes near Jack and Reggie he veers their direction and calls out as he gets close "Mind if I carry one of those fishing gaffs?" Shep hopes it doesn't come down to hand to hand combat. In his old age, he no longer has the strength or dexterity to be much good at it; but, having something in hand when he runs out of bullets could very well save his life.

Jack hands the of the gaffs to shep. "I grabbed everything that looked sharp enough to be helpful." .oO Hopefully we will have enough to stay alive Oo. "Come on guys lets get back to the others, no time to lose!" He runs on, moving as fast as he can without dropping anything or falling.

Reggie keeps close to the two even though he is a faster runner. Eventually, the trio arrive near the trees surrounding the small stream. Shouting and the occasional crack of a firearm can be heard. There is panicked screaming further to the north. None of the screaming seems intelligent enough to make out. That or they are just too far away.

Shep looks around, assessing the situation in front of him first. If thinks seem to be well in hand here, he'll move farther to the North to find out what the screaming is about.

Jack hesitates for a moment when he hears the screams and looks at Shep before running off to the north, hoping that he wont be too late.

The two hurry together and arrive in time to find Al lying on the ground with a dead fish next to him. An entire chunk of his leg is bitten off at the thigh above the knee! A deluge of blood pumps out from the wound as the sheriff tries to quickly cut off the bleeding and possibly save his leg. There are other townsfolk stabbing at the fish. It seems the only thing that works is the extremely sharp weapons and only through the gills or eyes of the fish. The one next to Al looks to have been shot through the head. A large chunk of flesh is still stuck in the fish's teeth.

Sheriff Harper yells to Shep and Jack as soon as he sees them. "You two! I got the bleeding stopped! I need you two to go to Lake Crenshaw for antibiotics! Hurry!" He tosses them a black plastic card. "Use that to pay for it." All the while, Al continues to scream until fainting as the sheriff tosses the card.

Shep clenches his teeth in frustration. Their peaceful town has been violated. He hoped that the fear of days like this were a thing of the past. Grabbing the card in one hand and Jack's elbow in the other he turns to head back the way they came. "Come on, we're going to need a vehicle. I'm not running 20 miles to Lake Crenshaw and then back again." {OOC: What conveyances are readily available? Sherrif's car? Jack's parent's car? What does Shep have? His character sheet doesn't list anything. I searched the past posts and didn't see any mention of vehicles of any sorts.}

Jack pulls his elbow from Shep's grip, "What about Al? he came from somewhere maybe he has a car we can use!" Jack starts heading towards Al and the Sheriff again, hoping his hunch is correct.

Grabbing the card in one hand and Jack's elbow in the other he turns to head back the way they came. "Come on, we're going to need a vehicle. The sheriff point's towards where everyone was fishing. "There are ATV's and horses at the fishing hole. Now HURRY!"

Upon looking, Shep notices one of the townspeople trying to get on one of the ATVs... without permission.

Shep peers through sunlight at the person attempting to get on the ATV in an effort to see who it is before deciding what to do about it. As he looks, though, he continues running towards the ATV's to grab one for himself...preferably one from someone he knows won't be upset by his "borrowing" it.

As Shep and Jack get to the ATVs, there are only two, the person getting on it has no business on it. They are stealing it to get away from the stream quickly. He glances quickly at Shep and shrugs trying to get the kickstart to work, pumping down on the starter.

Jack runs in front of the ATV to stop him from pulling off "I know you are scared but we need these to get help, before someone dies"
