Ivy and Chrome: Kira and Lori (Note: Tyran and Reaper exit)

Post by Chaser1 »

Tyran looks over at Drake, taking advantage of his recent spell to check for any anomalies in Drake's aura as well. Anything that might help explain his sudden outburst ... "Drake ... how do you know? What just happened? Where are they?"

Turning towards Bill, he says, "I'm gonna set you down for a minute, if you don't mind ..." Then, in a quieter voice, he adds, "Did you sense anything that might have brought this on?" while setting the Zembahk down.

His mind shifting into high gear, he tries to decode the cryptic words coming from Drake. "Mirrors?" he mutters questioningly, deep in thought, trying to think of any demonic or supernatural threats that might have anything to do with mirrors. "Where are they? Should we still try to talk to them, or do you know where they are so that I can try and take us directly to them?"

Tyran sees a powerful psychic who has no magical abilities or high base PPE. Drake simply shrugs and says, "I just got an image in my head of it." Bill's voice enters Tyran's mind, "I sensed nothing. But I do know that something important is in the constructs by the chain of events that I have noticed."

Lori seems to break away from the robed elf and walk towards Drake and the group. The robed man looks as though he wants to say something more, yet simply walks towards a building and disappears into the structure. Lori arrives. Everyone seems lost for words at that moment, staring at either Lori or Drake.

"You're a psychic?" Tyran almost mutters the question, more for himself then to actually solicit an answer. He thinks back for a minute, trying to remember if he knew this little factoid, or had ever attempted to look at Drake's aura in the past ...

Drake seems to give a disbelieving look, "Well... yeah..." He seems to think for a moment, "I guess... I guess you haven't seen me do anything that is obvious. That becomes the way when you are in cities that don't much care for powerful psychics."

"Okay ... so shall we continue on to go talk to Jenna, then?" Tyran asks.

Drake nods, looking to everyone else as he looks towards Lori. As Lori approaches the group she looks over at Drake and asks "What's up?"

Kira waits as patiently as she can waiting for Lori and/or Drake to tell them what just happened. "Alec......" her voice trails off as memories pass through her mind. "what the hell have you gotten yourself and others into this time..." she whisphers to herself.

"Well," Drake starts as he looks at Lori, "Something is watching Jenna and Alec from... well... mirrors." He shakes his head and continues, "Sometimes I see things, like Jenna does, but it's really rare and I can't control it." He shakes his head and looks towards Lori, "So... what did the guy have to say? And will it change our plans?" Glancing back to Tyran, "Okay, what's the plan of action for getting ahold of Jenna, anyways?"

"Fairly simple, really," Tyran states. "We get to one of the local mage guilds, so that I don't have to do this out in the open, and then I take a few minutes to cast a spell. If that works, then a tiny micro-rift will open wherever Jenna is ... and if not, I can close the rift and try again. Of course, if we had time, I'd actually perform a short ritual instead; which would give us a better chance of locating her.. but that could take up to an hour. And I'm guessing," he states, looking at Drake, "I'm guessing that you don't want to wait an hour." Drake shakes his head. "But first, we need to get to the guildhouse ... I may need some help in casting the spell; I don't want to drain myself too deep in case we've got to step in and help them ... especially if they're in trouble right this moment."

"Mirrors?" she says, startled. She glances over her shoulder to where she was talking with the old elf. "The seer warned me to avoid mirrors in the next city I visit. He mentioned it abruptly, as if he'd just had a vision." Shaking her head, she answers Drake's question. "Basicly Mum and Dad have learned that there is danger in my future and want me to come home. If I wanted to live wrapped in silk I wouldn't have left home in the first place."

Drake listens and nods and replies, "Let's get moving."

As they make their way to the guildhouse, Tyran gathers enough ambient PPE to refresh his Sustain spell. Following this, he begins to draw in and store enough ambient energy to allow him to attempt the casting without having to dip into his own personal reserves ...

Once they get to the guildhouse, he donates his custom made bushman armour to the guild's bank in exchange for guild services. Making arrangements with the guild house leader, he borrows a couple of experienced guild mages to be on standby in the rare case that something were to go wrong in the casting of his spell; and he asks to have a couple of guild apprentices available on hand to help provide him with energy to perform the casting in case a second attempt is needed.

Concentrating on the storage of energy required for the first casting, Tyran asks for the guild mages and/or apprentices to activate the circle, provide him with an armour spell, as well as see invisible, sense evil, sense magic, and see aura.

Sifting through his backpack and pulling out his Close Rift scroll, he gives it to Lori. "If, in the extremely rare case that something might go wrong and I'm incapacitated, use this to close the rift. And if not ... well, I'm gonna need that back," he smiles.

His preparations laid, he begins the incantation which will open the communications rift. Tyran begins to gather energy from the four guild apprentices as they are greatful for his donation. Thier help is more than enough to make it easy for him to begin the ritual with the additional spells. As Tyran begins weaving the magic energy, he begins seeing unusual images form almost visibly in the air, yet, his see invisibility and aura sense detects nothing.

Frank stands back, muttering something about filthy magic while Tony, Robby and Drake watch interestedly. Finally, Drake looks to Lori, "Is everything going alright?" Noticing the air moving oddly.

Lori activates her ability to see magic energies and looks around, "I think so, but I'm not an expert on Rifts." Nervously she scans over the scroll preparing herself in case she needs to use it. (and deciding to ask Tyran if she could borrow this for study, or copy it at least. She was always interested in expanding her spell repertoire.)

At that moment, before Drake, Tyran, Lori, Kira or anyone else can say anything about the strange wavy transparent images in the air, a small dimensional opening tears open. From it, everyone can hear an unfamiliar voice ask, "What the hell is that?"

Tyran lets out a sigh of relief when he hears Alec's voice, glad that he was actually able to find them. "I am with the same people I was with when I contacted yourself and Warren a couple days ago, with a couple of other old friends. One of them, someone close to both yourself and Jenna, is a powerful psychic who just received a premonition that you guys were in trouble ... Something about mirrors. We wanted to touch base to make sure you were alright, and see if you needed our assistance. We've not much time to talk, as the link will only remain for a minute or two ... but if we do need to meet up for a longer conversation, I may be able to facilitate it."

In the back of his mind, Tryan is trying hard not to reveal his own identity or those of the people he is traveling with; in case there are any untrusted parties listening in on the other end. Feeling slightly uncomfortable with the situation, and wanting to get a better idea of the situation on the other side of the rift, he decides to take a calculated risk.

Tyran then hears, "I heard reach out and touch somebody, but damn, why use these things?" he points to the rift,"Why don't you all ever use a phone or something like that?" followed by, "What you all need for weapons and gear? I'm more're less gonna need a special type of gear." followed by, "If you guys want to meet, we kinda need a spot to hook up with you guys."

"Just a heads up ... I'm going to send Dirk through." Then, with a friendly chuckle, he adds, "If anyone there harms so much as a feather on his head, you'll be answering to me." He laughs slightly, knowing what the threat actually sounds like coming from a 16 year old kid ... but hopes that it will be enough to prevent anyone on the other side from getting any ideas about serving Falcon for lunch.

Using up a charge from one of his amulets, he then sends Dirk through the tiny rift. Once through, the bird will head up into the rafters of the building to perch and scan the room. Making use of the tenuous link between himself and his familiar, strained though that link may be through the rift, Tyran will attempt to view the room through his bird's eyes while continuing.

Counting the number of people in the room, Tyran will then silently signal to Drake how many are on the other side of the link. He will then gesture as if to ask Drake if he wishes to speak, or whether Tyran should continue to speak on behalf of the group so as not to give away Drake's whereabouts.

As the conversation continues, Tyran will use Dirk to watch the physical happenings and people's reactions to the discussion in the Eagle's Cafe.

As Dirk flies through, Tyran sees the a large semi with a hog of a motorcycle parked in front of it. The first person he sees is a man holding a leather jacket, wearing a torn white shirt, and torn leather pants. The tears in his pants look fresh and the man looks a bit haggard to be normal. He is busy helping up the next two, who're Jenna and Alec. Jenna looks like she's seen better days and Alec looks as though he's been drinking, but alert. Both are getting up off of the ground. Behind them are seven other individuals standing almost as a large group, ready for anything. A dirty blond female, who looks as though she has just freshened up and thrown on the same clothes that she'd been wearing for the past week. A man in casual business attire, a juicer, a crazy and another guy whose hair screams, "walking Q-tip with brown hair!" Then there is a rather handsome looking teenager who is wearing casual clothes, almost too casual. The most distinguishing feature is the boy's eyes. They don't look quite human. Finally, the 8 foot tall Oni demon, who is leaning against the wall, looking very bored and wearing a rather tattered trench coat, as though he had been through a nasty explosion.

"We had a few.. entertaining moments. But I think we are fairly safe at the current time. We should meet up though. We have things to discuss."

Tyran looks over at Drake, after Jenna's comment. Still signalling silently, he gestures to Drake, points through the rift, and then mime's the words 'face to face'; asking Drake if he would like to meet with Alec directly.

Reaper: "Man you look like you could use something to do. I seriouly don't think this is what ya had in mind huh?"

Apok: "Bored I am not, one must have patience, I am just curious of where we go from here and there is much of this planet I am interested in seeing."

"Not much of this planet? what world you from then man? I was always told patience is a gift more less. some born with it and some ain't you know? From the looks of things, this isn't gonna be a dull run."

"Well, lets just say that I am not a local." followed with, "Patience and Discipline are learned not given, and the lack of them is what breeds weakness."

Sensing that Drake is in favor of the idea, Tyran replies to Jenna. "Well, we can probably arrange a meeting on fairly short order. But where exactly are you right now, and where do you plan on being for thenext day or so? Knowing that will probably help me to plan a face-to-face meeting."

As he waits for a response, Tyran takes a closer look at each of the figures in the room. Noticing the shattered mirrors, he concludes that something very strange had been going on recently. "If you don't mind me asking ..." Tyran phrases in a careful tone, "what's with the mirrors? I take it that there was actually something to the warning we received?"

Dirk will be watching closely for the Oni and the non-human teenager's reactions to Tyran's question. There is no real reaction.

His mind racing, Tyran tries to make some sense of the scene. The Oni demon and the non-human teenager were of particular interest, he decides. Oni were a particularily nasty sort, he knew; and for one to be present in the room, but not being outwardly rambunctious or intimidating with this many humans in the room could mean only one thing. It meant that there was at least one being in the room more powerful than the Oni demon. And that, in turn, meant that of those present, someone ... or something ... was a definate force to be reckoned with.

Closing his eyes, and focusing all of his attention through Dirk, he makes an attempt to channel his see aura and sense evil spells through his familiar's own senses. Taking another quick look around the room through Dirk's eyes, Tyran attempts to figure out just who that powerful threat might be; and he starts with the boy before checking out the other humans.

Dirk scans the room:

Teenage boy leaning against the wall.
Low level, possesses an extremely high amount of PPE, has magic knowledge and possesses psionic abilities. He is not human.

Oni:
Low level, possesses psionics and is supernatural, low base PPE

Man with the leathers on, talking with the Oni:
Low level, possesses high PPE and magic abilities, supernatural, no psionic abilities and is human with strange aberrations to his aura.

Jenna:
Mid level, psionic abilities, human

Alec:
Mid level, human

Joan: low level, normal human

Crazy: Psionic abilities, mid level, human

Juicer: low level human

Albert: mid level human

Ian: mid level with psionics

"Yes, there was something with the warning.. there were some wierd looking things watching one of the group through the mirrors, so he broke them." Jenna replies after a short hesitation.

"I fail to see how a lack of patience or discipline could be a good thing. But I am not suprised you see it so." Apok ignores the question about his world.

"If you fail to see what i mean, then maybe you need to study us humans little more, even when we get so a point, patience and discipline is nuthin to what just simple guts of a guy can seriously due. You could say that is what makes everyone who they are, to a point man even you, if you seem and guessin so, stuck her."

Teenage kid with piercings: "... Interesting friends you boyos keep."

"Well, how long will you guys be? I mean, I would like to see you guys soon. Is Kira with you? We are right outside of the Eagle Cafe. The sooner the better." Alec's voice comes through.

Drake grins and says, "Hey Alec, it's been a long time. Yes, Kira is here. We will take as long as it takes Tyran to set up the transportation. Is there anything that we need to know before we arrive?" He gives Tyran a look of concern.

"Ummm nothing too important." Alec replies through the rift.

Many eyes move over towards Kira. Drake leans in and whispers as quietly as he can, "Are you prepared to see Alec again?"

A voice carries through the rift in a male voice, "looks like things gonna kick up. No disrespect man, from what I read up on something of ancient demons, I could have mistaken you for a Japan demon but from what your tellin me, maybe the ancient Japanese oni demons may not have started there." and then seconds later, "What's next, Alec?"

Kira stands back behind everyone who is trying to communicate through the rift and just passivly listens to what is being said. At the sound of Alec's voice she is jolted back into the middle of the conversation. Many old memories run through her mind when Alec's voice is heard through the rift. "Yes Alec, I am here and as Drake said we will hopefully be seeing all of you soon. It has been a long while..." Kira's voice trails off. "Yes I should be fine thanks. It's just been a very long time since I have heard his voice." Kira whispers to Drake.

Drake seems to nod, he flashes a troubled look to Lori, then looks to Tyran and nods some sort of approval.

With that Kira heads out of the room for awhile to clear her head and gather her thoughts ......I guess I never figured this moment might effect me this much...this might be interesting...

Tyran sits back and lets Drake answer Alec's question, as he studies the various characters in the area.

Something just wasn't quite right, he knew. Particularily with the Oni. He'd seen a picture of Apok's kind in one of the Brotherhood's guild libraries, he knew ... but from what he knew of Oni, only the mystics had psionic abilities. But they also had powerful magic abilities, as well, and this character did not.

Not used to being wrong, this discovery unnerves Tyran somewhat. Jenna, Alec, and two of the humans that Tyran didn't know were the only ones who looked like they were of any significant power level; although the presence of two non-humans, a supernatural human, a crazy, and a juicer was enough to strike a worrisome chord within his mind. Add to that three humans, five of the group with some amount of psionic ability, and two of them spellslingers; and you had a potential powder keg ready to explode at the slightest provocation.

Going back to Dirk's viewpoint, he catches a suspicious look passing between Nathan, Roger, and Albert. His paranoia already at an heightened state of nervousness, he decides that there are too many unknown parameters for him to risk transporting the entire group to the Northern Gun; as he wasn't sure he'd have the energy left to get them all back out safely. His preferred action, he decides, would be to teleport alone, and bring Alec and Jenna back to speak with Drake... alone.

Snapping back to the present, Tyran notes that noone is speaking. Responding to Drake's comment regarding him setting up the transportation, he adds for the benefit of the other side of the rift, "Sounds good ... it will take some time to arrange for the trip. We can meet you there in say ... how about three hours?" Checking via Dirk, Tyran watches for any sort of reaction by the men heading back towards the Semi; in response to his suggesting a 3 hour delay.

Turning back to Drake, Tyran will continue to mime out his true intentions; while mouthing the words for Drake's benefit. Pointing to himself, then the rift, and then making a grabbing motion, followed by a two-handed point to his current position on the floor in the guild room, Tyran signals to Drake that he will go to retrieve Jenna and Alec, and bring them back to Tolkeen for the discussion.

Signalling to the guild mages that he is looking to draw on their energies once again, he begins to gather the energy required to rift himself through to the Northern Gun; leaving the communications rift open so that he can continue to observe the happenings at the other end as he does so.

Alec's voice comes through the rift, "That sounds good."

Tyran mutters the dimensional teleportation incantation to open a one-way portal for himself, with the other side of the portal being a block or so up the street from the Eagle's Nest Cafe. Once the portal is open, he lets the communications rift drop before stepping through to the other side.

The guild members nod and give Tyran support. He casts his spell as everyone watches and a second dimensional portal opens. Tyran steps through. Seconds later, the communications rift closes. The rift, which Tyran had just passed through, closes, leaving Drake, Kira, Lori, Tony, Robbie/Bruce and Frank standing and pondering what to do next.

Drake breaks the silence as he looks towards Lori, "Anything you aren't telling us?" he gestures towards Kira and then where the rift was, "Tyran and Kira's boyfriend and Jenna's lives are probably in some sort of danger. What did that guy need from you besides family issues?"

Frank leans back, "It sounds like more of this stupidstitious mumbo-jumbo." He cross his arms behind his head as he leans against the wall, keeping a wary eye on the guild members, who seem to be waiting for something or some sort of order. Frank's odd, feathery brown hair gives him a handsome for a human look, yet, his attitude towards magic and psionics seems to drown out any of that beauty.

Tony seems to stick close to Robbie, who both seem to be lost in thought. Leaving Drake, who seems more concerned with the situation at hand. He flashes Frank a look, "If it wasn't for the stupidstitious mumbo-jumbo, Jedite and the rest of the crew would have killed you. You're lucky we even trust you now, ex-coalition, pshh. The only reason I trust you is because you are on the same hit list as us." he looks to Tony, who is now paying attention, "What's to say it isn't a coalition ploy to get us to trust you, huh?"

Frank's face seems to harden. Cold, grayish eyes seem to stare back at Drake's. He then looks over towards Lori, "Her, for instance. An elf, you know that they aren't human. They are made of the magic from the rifts. Hell, they even COME from the rifts. Their beauty is meant to distract humans from what they really are." He then turns to Drake, "And you!"

He isn't even allowed to finish before Drake's temper gets the best of him. Frank finds himself ducking a fire bolt, which scorches the wall where he was. Frank instantly grabs for his armor out of his pack and puts it in front of himself in time to stop a second bolt. The weld in the front of his CA-4 Recon armor signifies that Drake meant to do more than just hurt him. Drake stands directly in front of Frank, breathing heavily.

Lori and Kira find that in that split second, Tony had already pulled an ion rod from his leg and Robbie/Bruce had already engaged his laser cutter and gotten it ready. All aimed at Frank. Frank glares at Drake from behind the cover of his armor, which is now a shield at the moment. The guild members all move to the far side of the chamber, wary of heavy weaponry and powerful abilities and what they could do.

Here is what happened from the "Price of Treachery" group:

Alec looks to the rift and says, "Well, how long will you guys be? I mean, I would like to see you guys soon. Is Kira with you? We are right outside of the Eagle Cafe. The sooner the better."

Jenna hears Drake's voice come through the rift, "Hey Alec, it's been a long time. Yes, Kira is here. We will take as long as it takes Tyran to set up the transportation. Is there anything that we need to know before we arrive?"

Alec simply replies, "Ummm nothing too important." He gives a sidelong glance towards Reaper and Apok.

Apok notices Nathan's eyes narrow as he looks towards the rift. He nods towards Roger, the juicer, and then to Albert while reaching behind himself. Roger follows suit as Albert begins to walk towards the semi with Ian.

Reaper catches the glance from Alec and he returns the favor with a smile as he talks to Apok, "looks like things gonna kick up. No disrespect man, from what I read up on something of ancient demons, I could have mistaken you for a Japan demon but from what your tellin me, maybe the ancient Japanese oni demons may not have started there." Reaper shrugs at his own thought and looks toward the rift. Reaper hollors at Alec, "What's next, Alec?" awaiting answers, while he thinks of way better times and when the ugliest dumbass was possibly your best friend. But here in this time, it could be your enemy, or a seriously assinine dragon.

A female voice announces through the rift, "Yes Alec, I am here and as Drake said we will hopefully be seeing all of you soon. It has been a long while..."

Apok notices Nathan's glance and straightens himself from the wall, not really trusting any in this area he will wait where he is and try to be the last one out of the area.

From the rift, Tyran says. "Sounds good ... it will take some time to arrange for the trip. We can meet you there in say ... how about three hours?"

Nathan, Roger, Ian and Albert climb step inside of the semi trailier and quickly close the door behind them. Alec smiles and replies, "That sounds good." He looks excited about something as he give Jenna an elated look. From up the street, there is a flash of light. Alec frowns looking that direction.
********************************
Meanwhile, from two and a half blocks up the street, a young male finds himself looking at the front of a large cargo semi, with a trailer attached. There seems to be a gathering of people there.
********************************
Reaper looks in the direction of the door slammin shut, "Look what we got here. A rig and trailer. Things just keep gettin better and better," Reaper thinks, 'well at least today won't be dull,' Reaper just gets ready for anything.

Jenna turns and looks at Alec to see what the next step is going to be. Alec simply shrugs and peers suspiciously towards Albert's crew. He then peers past the semi towards where the bright flash appeared. He gives Jenna's shoulder a reassuring squeeze.

Apok pushes off the building and spins toward the flash of light, trying to make out what caused it. If Apok is unable to make out what caused the light he will start to head in that direction. He sees what appears to be a young boy carrying some travel gear round a corner about three blocks down.

Finally, Nathan, Roger and Albert step back out of the semi. Albert walks up to Alec. Jenna is the only one that can hear Albert, being so close to Alec, Albert whispers, "Can I talk to you a moment? It was about something someone said through that Rift. Nathan heard a woman talking. But there was another voice behind hers." He motions for Alec to follow. Alec takes Jenna's hand and leads her towards the semi, behind Nathan, Roger and Albert.

Nathan, the crazy, and Roger, the juicer, seems to give a daring look to anyone willing to breach the privacy of the upcoming conversation. Upon opening the door, Albert turns and gives the hawk an odd look, and then steps inside. Alec turns around and looks at Jenna, "It's up to you if you want to follow me in."
***************************************
"Okay, Tyran..." the teenager mutters to himself. "You sure didn't think this one through, now, did you?"

As Dirk continues to monitor the situation from the eaves of the Eagle's Nest, Tyran crosses over to the side of the street across from the cafe. Walking towards the cafe, he turns down a crossing street just before reaching the Cafe. Once he is out of sight, he will stop long enough to watch what is happening in front of the Eagle's Nest (through Dirk); and to see whether Alec or Jenna may have recognized him while he was walking.

Tyran gets the impression that Alec must know, if he didn't see him already. "Well Bill," the boy states to the worm wrapped around his shoulders, currently invisible so that Tyran doesn't look too out of place. "I'm pretty sure Alec knows we're here ... but I'm curious as to what is going on in that trailer." Tyran heads around the block, so that he re-enters the street in front of the cafe on the side opposite where he appeared (ie. arriving at the intersection on the rear side of the rig.) "I should let you know, I'm not sure if we can trust these guys yet, and there are at least two of them with psychic abilities," he tells Bill before they round the corner. He hears Bill's voice in his head, "Are you sure that you can trust these individuals? They seemed quite paranoid from the sound of them."
**********************

Jenna nods at Alec and follows him into the Semi. Seeing the light flash past the rig and Apok trying to make out what it is, Reaper cracks his knuckles and gets ready for anything. As he mentally gets ready for whatever is going to happen, he gets the feeling this is going to be screwy and looks like he may end up out of this loop.

As if on cue, Dirk flies over to perch himself on Alec's shoulder. If Alec objects, the bird will fly up and position itself on the edge of the open trailer door, while Alec and Jenna discuss whether Jenna is entering. Perched there, he keeps the door from being closed without first knocking him off, taking advantage of Tyran's medallion's effects to prevent being hurt as the door closes on him. Looking at Alec, the bird will give a little squawk. Apok watches the young man with the travel gear to see what he will do. While watching his acute hearing picks up Albert's whisper but at this point he really doesn't care about being excluded from what else is happening. Apok watches the young man turn the corner; Apok turns his attention back to the group to see what the next step will be. The young man has disappeared around a corner several blocks up the street. Joan, the girl in the dirty clothes, seems to dart her eyes from one person to the next in confusion.

*Like Apok, the teenager seemed content to watch everything unfold, his eyes avid windows to a soul bent in excruciating acuity to making sense of everything around hi, like jigsaw pieces that needed forcing into place to be made sense of. He knew relatively nothing of his likely traveling companions, and though this didn't serve to unnerve him so much as to excite in him that volatile curiosity, it did sharpen the edge to that peculiar hunger to -know.- Another flick given errantly to metal ring threading ear's cartilage, and he dropped hands to tug at the worn leather jacket he left hanging open along upper body, to all appearances just Waiting, like most of the rest of them appeared to be. ***
*********************************************
Jenna and Alec enter into the semi, upon walking in, Jenna looks as Nathan walks over and leans against what looks like a set of bunks to sleep on. Behind the bunks is what looks like an information terminal of three computers bolted down to a shelf built into the wall of the semi trailer's interior. Along the back of the trailer is what looks to be a small laboratory, where Albert and Roger are positioned. Ian walks over and proceeds to type in some information on one of the computers. A large hawk lands on Alec's shoulder, just before the doors to the trailer closes.

Nathan turns around and says, "Alec, there was a man asking the girl, who was talking to you through that rift, about whether she could trust you or not. I heard the chambering of some rifle and the smells coming through that rift was of more than just a few people. Who was that kid?" His eyes seem to be a bit darty. He then looks towards Jenna, "And who is she? What's her significance?"

Alec laughs, "She's the current Blue Angels leader. She is being hunted by the leader of the Chrome Gang. Now... what is so important that you need to know?"

Seeing the bird fly from just over him to inside the trailer, Reaper just shrugs his shoulders and thinks to himself aloud, but in a whisper, "Well well well, looks like this isn’t going to be any fun. Maybe I should liven things up or should i just be nice?" Reaper just keeps leaning against the wall then decides to go walk over to Joan. "Looks like things are going nowhere fast, huh, Joan?"

Tyran walks around the corner behind the semi, heads up the street, and nonchalantly enters the Eagle Cafe ... where he waits for the conversation in the semi to wrap up.
*****************************************
Joan answers Reaper, "I hope that they hurry and get on with this. A few days of traveling and we can get paid and then maybe I can live a normal life again."

At that moment, a cloaked young boy, with some strange giant grub on his shoulder, walks past, Apok, Solomon, Reaper and Joan into the Cafe with quite the casualness for a teenager.

Upon entering the bar, Tyran notices the bartender look up and give small smile, until his eyes fall onto Bill. "What is that thing and does it bite?" Tyran can hear Bill telepathically laughing,

Reaper looks at Joan with a shocked look, “What do you mean live a normal life again? and yes i also hope maybe this redneck hick party get moving it be nice." While talking to Joan, reaper also noticed the cloaked kid walking past. Reaper says to Joan, "that’s not quite right ... that kid walked past us. Acting real calm.. And with a giant worm on his shoulder.. I bet the buzzards would love to get that thing...” reaper more or less begins to keep an eye on the kid. Thinking to himself (maybe I should go clean up the bar since there is shatter mirror all over it). Apok watches the young man with the grub on his shoulder walking by, he thinks it is the same man that he saw earlier but is not sure.

Reaper takes a step to his left to watch the young man walk in. The kid pulls a stool up to the bar and asks the bartender something. Suddenly, there is a blinding flash of light and a large creature with brownish gray skin, standing 8 feet tall with a wide face and a row of dagger-like teeth glancing over in his direction as it stands where the boy's barstool had fallen over. The creature is wearing some strange robe with all sorts of odd items on a strange looking bandolier. "YoUr TuRn!" It hisses.

A rush of wind blows past Reaper, kicking dust up around Apok and Solomon. Joan stumbles backwards and falls to the ground, ripping her brand new clothes. The young boy, along with the worm, is gone. The voice is enough to send chills up Apok's spine. It seems too familiar.

Reaper looks at the demon with something of a smile, "I’m next huh? Who sent your sorry excuse of flash and bone ass here, could it be the damn nightlords wantin my hide or what here?" Reaper prepares for one hella fight and destruction as he hollers "Drake get out here now!" He prepares to shift and fight he says to the demon, gettin all his abilities ready.

The demon turns his full body towards Reaper, humanoid in shape and quite powerful, "Nightlords? I haven't heard that one in a long time. I am Tekt'su, and you ARE next!" he cries in a more audible tone as he charges forward, Reaper is still in his transformation when the demon disappears. In a split second, he finds himself being hurled backwards.

Sol, Joan and Apok watch as something appears behind Reaper, grabbing him by the back of his neck and hurling through some strange dimensional portal that simply appeared there. As Reaper and the portal disappear, the demon turns to them and glares with eyes which are pitch black, with golden crescent moons for pupils. "Where is Drake?" It starts before either can answer, "Never mind that, my brother should be taking care of him. You will obey us or you will join your friends."

Apok looks at the demon standing before him and starts to tremble with anger, "That Voice!! I tell you I will obey no one!" He quickly draws a giant revolver from his side with the bore the size of a shotgun and an oversized energy pistol from his back. Looking at the demon, "Now what do you have to say?"

The demon hisses, "Do YoUr WoRsT!" and disappears from view. Sol and Joan seem to simply stand and watch, shocked at the chain of events. Apok feels himself get shoved from behind no more than a split second after the demon disappeared. Then a split second later, as he is stumbling forward, he sees the demon back in the doorway of the bar. "LaSt ChAnCe!" Memories seem to dance in his mind of the dead man grabbing him from up under his chin.

In the split second that it takes to turn, as Apok brings his pistols into trajectory range of the demon, the demon disappears again. Apok finds himself trying to rely on his reflexes to avoid being grabbed from behind, only being able to duck forward to avoid the massive hands of the demon. Sol seems to simply stand there and assess the situation, asking, "Do you require assistance?" Apok finds it utterly amazing that in the time the demon disappeared and was trying to grab him wasn't even the blink of an eye, as though the demon was even faster than a wolfen quatora who's high on meth.

Apok isn't even sure if Sol's question was directed at him or the demon. He hears a bit of shouting from the trailer as the demon seems to keep right in step with him and attempts grabbing him again. Apok finds himself on the defensive, realizing that the demon, who calls himself Tekt'su, is lightning fast for his size as its other hand attempts to intercept him. He narrowly avoids being plucked off of the ground. Apok jumps backwards, far enough out of range of being grabbed, but enough to be able to fire if the demon doesn't do his disappearing act again.

The demon quickly begins talking in some arcane tongue, yet nothing seems to happen. Apok re-holsters his energy blaster. The demon again seems to repeat the words, looking straight at Apok, nothing happens. The demon seems to keep its distance, but then touches something on its wrist and once again, the demon disappears. Already knowing what is about to happen, Apok turns and knocks the demons hand away from behind him, turning and launching his other hand, trying to get it around the thick neck of the demon. However, the demon simply entangles his arm into its armpit and touches something on his side with his other hand. A dimensional portal tears open to the side of the two, only two feet away. The demon then launches its arm straight at Apok's own throat; Apok gets his hand in the way, but not well enough as the demon grabs him by the ponytail and hoists him up and prepares to launch him into the rift. All the while, it tries to warn him "YoU wOuLd Be a PeRfEcT sOlDiEr iN mY aRmY. LaSt ChAnCe, OnI. GiVe Up AnD sErVe ThE mAsTeR oR jOiN tHe OtHeRs." Apok feels an aura of energy surrounding the demon and still feels his grip on his giant revolver. The question is, try to prevent the demon from launching him into the portal? Or take a chance at blasting it in the face?

Apok takes his free hand and reaches behind his head wrapping his hand around the demons. If the demon tries to throw him in he will pull him in with him. While doing this he takes the giant pistol points it directly in the demons face and fires while screaming, "I SERVE NO MASTER!!!!!"

Tyran laughs along with Bill. "Of course! Just look at it gnash those GIANT TEETH!" Laughing at his own joke, he adds, "I wouldn't go poking at it, if that's what you mean. But leave him alone, and he's fine." Pulling a stool up to the bar, Tyran whispers to Bill, "I may need a hand in getting us back to the others... would you be willing to assist me with the spells?" Sitting down, he rests an elbow up on the bar and looks back towards the door. "So what's with the meeting in the trailer?" he asks the bartender.

The bartender shrugs, "I don't really know but if Alec is involved, it's probably dangerous and illegal."

Meanwhile, Bill's voice echoes through Tyran's head, "Of course, I sense something..."

Tyran feels himself shoved off of the barstool as a gust of wind hits him all the while he senses multiple dimensional anomalies. He finds himself and Bill sliding along the darkness into a glowing mass of magic energy. It all happens too fast. He looks around to find himself surrounded by magic energy, like that of ley lines, but bright enough not to be able to see through. One small path leads away up what looks like a corridor of this magic energy. He then hears Bill's voice in his head, "...happening. Oh no! Where are we?"

The distance to the actual wall of ley lines is undetermined. It seems to play tricks with the eyes. The floor is black, almost as though it doesn't exist. Gravity and breathable air exists... luckily.

"I'm not sure ... but give me a moment," Tyran replies to Bill, as he reaches down and checks the status of his pager to make sure it's activated and set to 'vibrate'. "Keep an eye out for any danger, and I'll see if I can figure out where we are."

Bill nods his wormlike head, trying to mimic a human nod.

Muttering quietly, he quickly rattles off a 'sense evil' spell. Mentally checking on the status of his ithan armor, sense magic, and see invis spells which were cast just before his travel to Ipsheming, he will refresh those which have dropped (or are in danger of dropping).

Tyran senses no evil in the immediate area, however his senses magic in use all around him. His ithan armor has a bit of time left and he sees nothing invisible.

Taking a quick glance around his surroundings, looking for any sign of trouble, he turns his attention to the ley line energy around him. Reaching out with his mind, he tentatively samples the ley line energy, checking to ensure that he is indeed within a ley line as his first observations suggested; and that the energy of the line is compatible with his own mystic energies.

"Let me know if you sense anything wrong or anyone approaching ... I'm going to need to concentrate for a moment," he informs Bill as he tries to draw in the energy, he manages to draw in just enough to replenish what he used for the sense evil, however the energy around them disappears to nothing, just blackness all around the two. Yet, the two can see each other clearly; they can no longer tell how far the blackness stretches.

Tyran and Bill both disappear as Tyran tries to determine where they are. He begins to concentrate. Three minutes later, he finally has the results. The dimensional portal that carried him to this pocket dimension was deliberately made and was created by a powerful mage or even a god of some sort. The dimensional fabric of the dimension is strong and there is magic energy all around, but usually in use. Some of it can be drawn but it will tend to move once drawn. The pocket dimension is obviously not harmful to humans; however, Tyran knows that finding food and water could be a problem. There seems to be no dimensional medium so a powerful mage or even god or adult dragon must be supplying the energy to keep it going, otherwise the pocket dimension would lose stability and collapse. He comes out of his meditation with this knowledge.

Tyran shakes his head slightly, as he comes out of the meditation. "Well ... if I don't miss my guess, it's wasn't random chance that we ended up here. This appears to be an artificial dimension. It would take someone pretty powerful to create it and keep it active; so we're probably with something the two of us wouldn't want to confront directly. And, given that we were carried here and none of the others were ..."

Tyran pauses for a second, wondering if it is just paranoia with the week's events that led him to this conclusion; but decides that it is the most likely explanation "... I'd say that we were specifically chosen ... which would lead me to believe this has something to do with Noctis." Tyran smiles at the Zembahk for a moment. "Unless, of course, you've got some god-like enemies that you haven't told me about," he adds with a grin. He then turns his attention to sharing the rest of his findings with Bill. "This is a pocket dimension. As such, it could be anywhere from a few miles to several hundred light-years in size. But given that it's not naturally occurring, I'd venture a guess that it's much closer to the small end of that scale."

"The dimensional fabric, of which it is created, on the other hand, is quite strong; probably intentionally so, since it did not occur naturally. The dimension's magic level is quite high, but there is not a high level of ambient energy; what is here is constantly in use. This also supports the theory that it was artificially created; and the magic is being used to keep it in existence. Then again, the magic in this dimension may just as likely be in use so as to monitor our actions and listen to our conversations."

Pausing for another moment, he then hits Bill with the punch line. "All in all, if I had to venture a guess, I'd say that we've been transported here with the purpose of imprisoning us.

"Not to worry, as I'm sure that we can get back to Earth, though I might need a bit of help from you. But the strong fabric here will make it hard to control exactly where on Earth we end up. There is another possibility, though ... most pocket dimensions have a central nexus. If this place does have one, and we were able to find it, our chances of arriving where we wished on earth would be a little better."

Tyran closes his eyes for a moment, and reaches out to try and sense if there are any rifts within his sensing range. Opening them, he continues. "Of course, if we were to decide to go looking for it, my friends are still waiting for me to return within a few minutes ... I would want to contact them and let them know what has happened, if we were to choose to remain here and try and learn some more about this place." Mulling over his options, Tyran ponders what his next move should be. "We have limited magical energy between us, and it will take a good part of that for me to transport us out of here. However, if this is indeed a realm created by Noctis, it might be worth spending some time in, so as to try and learn more about it in case we ever need to return. At the same time, there's no telling how the time stream in this dimension compares to that on Earth ... we could stay here an hour, and find that no time has passed on Earth; or could alternatively find that our short visit here lasted 100 years Earth time."

Again, Tyran pauses to ponder his options. "Ah ... but there I go, babbling again. What are your thoughts? Can you sense anything that might affect the decision one way or another? Are we alone here in this void, or might there are others looking for a way out?"

Bill sits and listens and then Tyran hears his voice in his head, "This place is a bad place. I sense the ley lines. They are weak. I sense hatred and fear in this place. I also sense pure evil. This place is bad. At least your bird won't be eating me anytime soon."

"Dirk ..." Tyran states, knowing that his familiar remaining behind in Ishpeming makes him more vulnerable with every passing minute. "Well, that's it, then. This is an evil place, there's not much sense in spending any more time here than necessary. Keep your senses open and let me know if anyone approaches. I'll work on getting us out of here. Any mystic energy you can help supply would be a great help." Bill begins mustering his energy to help.

Settling down and entering a light meditation, Tyran begins preparing for the spell casting. Knowing the dimensional fabric is strong, and could play a part in deflecting him away from his intended destination, he chooses the triple nexus point outside of Louisville as his preferred arrival point, hoping that the triple nexus, his personal sanctuary in the area, and the fact that is his home dimension will all provide a strong beacon for him to focus on while casting. Clearing his mind, with Bill still on his shoulders, he begins the secret shifter invocation for Dimensional Travel (OOC: RUE pg 122), attempting to create a one-way dimensional portal for himself and Bill.

Tyran begins concentrating as Bill supplies enough energy to open it and get himself through. The rift tries to open, yet Tyran begins to sense the comings of a dimensional displacement storm. Bill seems to become nervous, squirming around on his shoulder. "Should we continue?" Bill asks as the ball of energy in front of Tyran begins to widen into a dimensional portal.

"Armor up, and be ready to defend against anything" Tyran warns Bill, thinking fast as the portal begins to open. Normally, he would never even think of risking a dimensional displacement storm, but a nagging thought in the back of his mind has him worried that this could be their one and only chance. "If we run into any spiders, beware that their venom can paralyze - if we run into webs, burn them." .o0 If we run into anything else ... pray! 0o. he thinks silently to himself.

"If you could throw up an energy sphere, that might buy us the time we need ..." he adds, before mentally preparing himself to cast a spell of his own as soon as the portal opens...

The portal opens, inside, Tyran steps into a tunnel that is roughly 40 yards long. Wisps of energy overhead move and undulate as if something has just rushed by and disturbed them. Something brushes against Tyran's side and he gets the feeling that something in the blackness is waiting for him. The end of the tunnel reveals daylight.
